Found ourselves in ocoee and stopped in for breakfast. The restaurant was nice and busy without being overly loud or crowded. We were able to sit right away. The wife and I had a delicious breakfast this morning at Keke's. It was recommended by some friends and it did NOT disappoint. We found a parking spot right out front and by the time we got to the door the hostess had the door open waiting for us. We were sat immediately and loved the nice decor. My wife had the apple cinnamon stuffed French toast with delicious and thinly sliced well seasoned home fries and I had a scrambler bowl with 2 eggs, red and green peppers, mushrooms and cheddar cheese that came on top of those yummy home fries. Excellent service from the hosts, food runner, server, and even manager stopping by to say hello and clear the plates. Very clean dining area and restrooms. Unfortunately, the food was awful (except for the iced tea). I asked for my eggs to be soft scrambled and they came out dry and hard cooked, the breakfast potatoes were undercooked and crunchy, and one slice of the wheat toast was soggy and barely toasted. It was all so gross. I didn't send the meal back as I didn't want to embarrass my friend dining with me or anger the kitchen with potential retaliation. I should've just sent it back without replacement and ate somewhere else later. It's a shame this happened because this location has so much going for it! I usually dine at the Windermere location and hadn't been to the Ocoee restaurant in 10 years! Doubt we'll return or will definitely share today's awful meal when ordering again. read more

Once upon a time, it seemed that greasy spoon diners or luncheonettes were pretty much the only option if you wanted to go grab breakfast. Now with places like Keke's Breakfast Cafe and First Watch, you have better options if you are seeking to eat out for the first meal of the day (and what I was told since grade school was the most important meal of the day). Keke's Breakfast Cafe is a hometown creation, having started here in Orlando, Florida back in 2006 by brothers Keith and Kevin Mahen. Back then it had the more straightforward name of the Florida Waffle Shop. This location was on Conroy Road and when the brothers started eying the horizon of expansion, they went with the name Keke's (which was a combination of both of their names) both because the name was perceived as more catchy and also because they could not obtain a trademark for the business name Florida Waffle Shop. From that humble beginning of one location, Keke's has grown to over forty locations here in Florida. The reason they have not expanded beyond the Sunshine State yet is that they have not saturated the market yet. The menu at Keke's Breakfast Cafe is filled with the usual breakfast favorites like waffles, omelets,eggs benedict and more. They also have a lunch menu, but I have only tried their breakfast offerings. All in all, my breakfast here was an overall winner. The food was very good, the ambiance was a great alternative to the standard greasy spoon breakfast joint with cheap chairs and chipped tables and my server was friendly, attentive and professional. This is by far the WORST KEKE's in Central Florida! I've been going to Keke's for at least 8 years now. I've NEVER EVER had the HORRIBLE service that was given to me in any other Keke's nor in my life for that matter! I'm a professional and entrepreneur and I take pride in the customer service that I give to my clients and this was far from it. The waitress that greeted us should not be dealing with the public. I'm sure she's good at a lot of things but face to face customer service is NOT IT. She didn't greet us with a smile... she greeted us as if she was miserable and hated her job... like if we were just another set of customers and her paycheck didn't matter. I wish you could see her face as we placed our drink and food order... like if we were inconveniencing her life. When she brought my coffee she left the wooden stirrer in it. I let us slide giving the benefit of the doubt as if "hey maybe it's something new or maybe they did it since I order decaf"... my mother ordered regular and did not have a stirrer in hers. The coffee looked old and not fresh. I asked for brown sugar and my mother asked for honey ... I kid you not... 10 minutes later and still no brown sugar or honey. My 73 year old mother got up To ask the waitress for it and again, she looked as though we were disturbing her life.... So 2 minutes later she walks by and just drops off another plate of WHITE SUGAR and honey... uh helloooo... we already had white sugar on the table, hence me asking for brown sugar! Now... the coffee was so cold! I was so appalled that I was like "if this is just the coffee and it's bad and bad service, I can't even imagine how the food will come"... I have NEVER even felt the slightest feeling to leave a restaurant due to bad service before. After 30 minutes total of being there, 1 sip of old cold coffee with the white sugar that I had to settle for... mom and I were like "no we gotta get outta here"... Oh and not to mention the guy that was there brining our the food and picking up the dishes... he was high as a kite in Lalal land! The manager here seriously needs to evaluate the staff or they will keep getting bad reviews. Over all, Keke's is known for good service and good food but this?! HORRRRIIBLE!!!!!!! I went here today for breakfast with a few friends before going to the Olympia fest and the food was immaculate. the present was just a great as the food and service was. Louiza was a great host with a great personality. very attentive and accurate with our order. this will definitely be a place I visit anytime I'm down in Orlando. I highly recommend it. read more

I happened to be driving by the cafe and decided to give it a try. I was welcomed and seated very quickly. My server Amanda, who seemed quite busy, greeted me warmly and took my drink order. I was not familiar with the menu, so I was quite pleased that she took the time to find out what I liked in order to make a few recommendations. I settled on an omelette. The meal was in front of me within 10 minutes and I was very pleased with what Amanda recommended. I was not in a hurry at all, so I had a moment to appreciate the great service that I received even though the restaurant was quite busy at the time. The table in front of me, who had a small child, was ordering their meal. To help the child understand that whipped cream was a topping option on the waffles, Amanda cleverly communicated this to the child by making the whipped cream sound effect with her mouth while miming the rest with her hand. Haven't eaten here (or any location) in years due to subpar food. Thought I would give it another try. Order Scrambler Bowl with scrambled eggs, double mushrooms and spinach, no cheese. The "scrambled" eggs were a thin pancake of eggs lightly scattered with mushrooms (I ordered double) and spinach. Folded over on itself and laid atop a pile of both overcooked and undercooked sliced potato rounds (called home fries). Also ordered a Classic Belgian Waffle that was way overcooked. It was very crispy and tough. The only thing I can say was good was the coffee (despite having no alternative to dairy creamer...i.e. Almond or Oat milk) and the server. Amanda read my body language and seemed to understand that I wanted a peaceful and quiet breakfast(for which I tipped well). I have yet to find a better breakfast/lunch restaurant than Dixie Cream in Windermere. Nothing compares in the slightest. read more

Well, this was a happy stop for brunch!! My friend had fasted for a lab test so we wanted breakfast at lunchtime! Well, Keke's aims to please there. We had the Eggs Portabella (like Benedict but w mushrooms) and coffee. They were both good but I'm half Latin so it just needed an extra sprinkle of salt! Can't complain - it hit t I was mostly impressed by the servers, especially ours who was just a happy, enthusiastic attentive young lady who was always close and made everyone smile. Actually everyone was friendly - the busboy cleaning a table in our way out even thanked and wished us a great day! It's not my rose colored glasses - they we're authentically nice. This location is very unsanitary. Upon entering this establishment I wasn't greeted by the front desk clerk , therefore the conversation was initiated by my partner. Unfortunately, we were seated by the door in an establishment that was serving around 5 customers at the time. The front desk clerk started shaking the front door Mat in the air, which caused all the dirt to fly and linger in the air. The dirt and dust from the Mat floated around our table and a few pieces landed on the table . When notifying the waitress she let us know she will tell the clerk to stop sweeping and shaking the mat (which the clerk didn't stop doing ). The food came and all the dirt and dust in the air landed on the food, we decided to leave and the manager didn't seem phased by the actions of the clerk. read more

I am sitting in the location now. My wife and I just explained that she has a soy intolerance and attempted to order poached eggs (eggs boiled in water only). The server came back and said they cant make poached eggs without soybean oil. We were also informed bacon cannot be cooked without soybean oil. Then, the server proceeded to give us options instead of the eggs that the chef recommended. With the limited options provided, the chef then realized soy was included in all of them. Since the cooks are lazy and can't boil water to provide simplistic eggs without soy, I would highly recommend against ever coming here. They are just lazy and don't care.
