Great food. I despise having to wait though. I feel that a lot of the wait is unnecessary because there are always empty tables. Also there are dirty tables that sit too long when they could be seated. There are also many staff just standing around doing nothing, particularly at the host stand. We both agree that this is the best! We both get the market skillet and love it. We have tried a handful of things but always go back to our favorite. I don't mind waiting, they always seem to be busy but having a community table is a nice option. I tell all of my friends about this place, I can't get enough of it. The wait was not bad (joined the waitlist and checked in when we arrived). When we sat down all the cups were filthy (literally all of them) the waitress had to bring out all new cups for the table. The food was edible and not worth the money. There was absolutely no seasoning on the food, which was odd for shrimp and grits (the only spice came from the spicy sausage). If you're a man, you'll probably feel that one of the best things about this place is that it's packed with women wearing yoga pants. In fact, I don't think you're allowed in here unless you're a woman wearing yoga pants, or, you're accompanied by a woman in yoga pants. Good thing lululemon is right next door. Although overpriced, the food is actually really good. The omelets are weak, but everything else is tasty. Most of the food is loaded to the gills with carbohydrates, but again, it's tasty. Best of all, there are plenty of unique items on the menu. Is the food healthy? If you believe that "ancient grains" are the best thing since sliced bread, then maybe so. If you don't believe the "ancient grains" hype, then it's just "carby." Three to four stars is just about right. read more

Winning! Today has been a win win day! We were only in Toledo a few days, heading back to Seattle tomorrow. Just left the Beauty Bar (see review) and wanted brunch afterward. SO GLAD WE FOUND THIS PLACE! We walked in and it was PACKED! Good sign. We didn't even have to wait too long to be seated, better sign. The fancy juice menu, the avocado toast and pancake game is ON! I was in First Watch, for breakfast, on the February, 26. My mom and I both ordered the Power Breakfast Quinoa Bowl. While eating I kept searching for flavor because I had the bowl there before. It wasn't until we left and got home that I realized there wasn't any sausage or mushrooms in either of our bowls. I distinctly remember Quinoa Kale Sun-dried tomatoes and eggs. Shame. Went there for lunch around 12:00 last Tuesday. There was a line so I put my name on the waitlist. While I sat waiting for a table I noticed several tables that needed to be cleaned and set up. There were three people up near the register and no one seemed to know what was going on. They should have a dedicated cashier/ hostess. I was told the wait would be 15 minutes but after witnessing all of the above I left. I didn't have time for a 2 hour lunch. I had been there twice before shortly after they opened and wait was not long and was able to get in and out in a reasonable time period. I don't think I'll try them for lunch again after the last experience. I have heard back from the manager Cassi and they have been very apologetic and also offered to comp me . I have not contacted them as I have no way of emailing them and I won't post my personal info on Yelp. Even though a chain restaurant, the food was all over the place. We needed to ask for new silverware twice because it was filthy. The same with the coffee mugs, as they were covered in lip stick and other "stuff." We sat for over ten minutes before someone came by to take our drink order and when the food was brought out, the potatoes were not cooked, the description on the menu was not what was plated, the eggs were beyond dry, and the bacon was burnt to a point it turned to dust in your mouth. Unbelievably awesome! I was out today with my soon-to-be daughter in-law on wedding related errands, and we stopped here to refuel ourselves. Our server was named Destiny, and she had the sweetest disposition and the brightest smile! When we asked for coffee, she not only filled us right up, she left us an entire pot. We were already in love! We decided upon omelets. I had the Crab and Asparagus, DIL had the Market Veg. Both were served with fresh mixed greens and a light vinaigrette, and thick cut 12 seed toast. The crab? REAL CRAB, not that fake "krab" nonsense - I even got a bit of crab shell (oops), but that did not detract from the meal in the slightest! The asparagus had been lightly sauteed, and the portion of crab in the omelet was quite generous. DIL's omelet was similarly stuffed to bursting., and everything was delicious! We barely had to think about our coffee pot - Destiny recognized women in need and kept it full for us. The freshly squeezed juices were a delight! It was nice to have a glass of grapefruit juice that knew where it came from, having just been whole a few minutes before. I loved the energetic vibe here, it reminded me very much of a beloved brunch spot in Chicago. For a Monday, the joint was jumping, and it was really nice to see everyone having a relaxed and happy meal. For having been open just 7 weeks, they've got it together, and I'm pleased that we stopped there! I think I've found my go-to breakfast joint! read more

The waitress and manager stopped by repeatedly saying we were next and an hour later... still no food. We finally gave up at 12:10pm, when the table right next to us, who had only been there for approx 20 minutes was served their food. The waitress apologized multiple times but it was beyond ridiculous at that point. We only ordered avocado toast and one of the specials so it made zero sense on what happened to our order. I've eaten here several times and the food is always great. I've had the chorizo breakfast tacos, chimichanga, and barbacoa eggs benedict. The specialty drinks are also really tasty. They have a morning meditation drink that's pretty enough for a picture- half bright orange juice and half bright red beet juice. Everything is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Some other reviewers had complaints about the acoustics and the noise level but I've sat right next to the kitchen and never had a problem hearing anyone. read more

A serious concern and one I share with elderly friends/those with mobility issues is the flooring. Like so many places, you have used that plank-looking tile. The least amount of moisture in the air, a constant in a restaurant, and the floor becomes a skating rink. When I sat down my chair almost scooted out from under me and everyone at the table was very cautious when getting up and leaving. This is a consideration if our retirement group returns. Great Food.
