If upscale breakfast is your thing they got you covered. They offer fresh takes on a hipster menu. They lean heavy in the organic and their coffee and cold brew is delicious. Friendly service, noisy and pay a little more for something different once in a while.

I love First Watch. I first started going to First Watch in Oklahoma and was so excited when they opened in Woodhaven and Toledo. I ordered the Pumpkin Pancakes and they were just ok. The eggs were actually better than the pancakes and I don't really like eggs. Sausage was interesting - apple but good flavor. Service was good. I also like the self checkout option on the receipt. Always good people watching, but can tend to get a little loud due to lack of acoustics. I usually get the tacos and those never disappoint.

Food is good and service is nice. Ambiance is busy and crowded all the time. Can't even hear who is setting next to you. In general I would recommend it if the waiting time wasn't more than 30min +

Things to do along I-75 N/S to and from the Detroit area (1 of 2)…read more I had to spend a few days in the Detroit area and I-75, featured in black and white on Eminem's excellent Super Bowl commercial, is the route on which I'd be driving. I have become increasingly tired of Starbucks, but less so of other chain coffeehouses. That said, I always seek out the independent coffeehouses. Mostly, I was sold on the name (Rustbelt) of this coffeehouse in Downtown Toledo, just a few blocks from the small cluster of downtown mid-rises. Inside, it has the open floor plan with exposed ceilings up above, which works very well here and fits the industrial Rust Belt mood. The seating options were to my liking: big butcher block type tables meant to be shared, smaller tables, and upholstered seating with coffee tables. I wish I could have stayed at Rustbelt longer. It was a warm and humid summer day and I had an iced tea and a pastry. The items were tasty. The pricing was fair and the service was unremarkable, but did lean toward being good natured. Parking is available right in front along the street, should you want to keep an eye on your car. That said, I couldn't get a read on the location ... it seemed that there were other eateries and bars nearby, so maybe that meant it was okay. Also, I couldn't figure out where the customer base came from. Usually, bohemian coffeehouses have bohemian enclaves nearby where the bohemian people live. I didn't see any, or maybe I didn't look long enough. I couldn't imagine them being suburbanites. Lastly, I believe I've always seen Rust Belt spelled as two words. If they want to stylize this and go with one word, that's their prerogative. So, what you have here at Rustbelt Coffee are good tea/coffee with pastries to choose from, fair prices, decent service, and a spacious open interior plan where the climate control system was working very well. That sounds like 4 stars to me.

This place is so cool and comfortable. The couches are great, the plants are fantastic; even the music, cool jazz, usually, is great. The local art on the walls is perfect for this type of place. The service is friendly, fast, and accurate. The only downside, IMO, is that Earth doesn't accept cash. Not a big deal, 'cuz I got credit, baby!! I haven't eaten their food, yet, but I can't imagine the food at a coffeehouse could taint my opinion of the place. Oh, by the way, the coffee is excellent. I like strong flavors, and EC provides those in spades. Sometimes after work, I like to decompress a little. And sometimes, I need a little caffeine-laden pick-me-up to catalyze, perhaps, an evening workout. Well, EC offers a unique opportunity to do both, simultaneously! Rating? As I said before, ENTHUSIASTIC FIVE STARS!

We also got the brussel sprout sweet potato hash, which also comes hot and in an adorable little bowl (all their dishes are eclectic and cute). Also great, altho I added a little salt to mine. We also ordered mochas, half sweet, which were delicious. All in all, a great selection of items that I would come back and order again in a heartbeat. While me and the wife were there, we sent a few pics to the family group chat, and within 15 minutes both kids showed up!! The place is that cool! It may not sound intrinsically delicious, but I liked it! My wife liked her layered coffee drink flavored with lavender...I liked hers too. I'm not sure what the kids bought, but they liked their drinks too. Win x 4. Both kids ate there too. See the pics. The staff and the owners were extremely friendly...almost too friendly.
