We chose Grounds for Thought while in Bowling Green visiting family. It was a neat little place. We loved the coffee selection and ambiance. The book choices were great as well. I choose a lavender white chocolate latte. It was very good!

Back again - Grounds for Thought still has it going on. This time I tried an ice sugar free coconut soy latte and it was AMAZING. As I stopped by on the way to prepare brunch with family I refrained from ordering the vegan Belgian chocolate cheesecake in the display case, but a day later I'm still thinking about it so this may not have been the right decision. Thank goodness for second (and third) chances.

Y'all I've found it. The gem of Bowling Green. If you are in the area, you must must must stop here. Honestly, it's been along time since I found a place so honestly charming and delightfully vibrant for every single human on earth. Let's start with the obvious reason for this review... the coffee. They have so many different choices and options. It can be overwhelming, but just ask them for a recommendation and they will help you figure out what your dream order is. They are so friendly and helpful that I really wish I could transport them into some of the places I visit more often where I live. The ambience is some thing out of a movie I would say. It ranges from coffee shop to study hall to hippie listening corner to bookworm to an I just need to chill kind of vibe. You can also buy just about anything. My friends and I insisted on getting matching sweatshirts because we wanted to encapsulate our visit forever in our brains and hearts. But you can also pick up local art, records, books, and the obvious an afternoon or morning pick me up and sandwich . Even if you're not in town, and you're somewhat close, within an hour, or so, still, plan a visit. You won't be sad you did.

The quintessential coffee shop. Plenty of tables to get work done (though the noise can be a bit loud at times). There's a chess set that's often in use, and I've seen multiple D&D groups convene here. Great place for the community with something for all ages. There's plenty of books from picture/beginner reader's to genre to self-help. They also have a wide music collection (both vinyls and CDs). Of course, they also have food and drinks for sale, along with merch and an assortment of stickers and other trinkets. There's a wide variety of coffee flavors, and a lot of them change seasonally. The food is mostly little treats like cheesecake slices and donuts, but they also have bagels (though these do sell out throughout the day). The prices vary. I've tried a few food items, and none have been amazing but not bad (maybe just not worth the price at times). The workers seem stressed which is totally fair. Some are a bit rude, but others are very friendly. It's best to know exactly what you want when you go by the counter. They sometimes won't ask questions, so if you want a coffee cold instead of hot, for example, make sure to explicitly say that. It always seems very clean in here. They also have single bathrooms which is nice. Definitely a spot that stands out in BG.

Small bookstore plus coffee shop. Fewer pastry choices. Coffee was okay. 3 stars for grumpy service.

Best cafe around. Friendly staff. Massive seating area in the book. Check the hours to make sure they're open. It doubles as a bookstore and has so many good reads. There are also board games. We got the flavored coffees: one with cinnamon and the other with mint. They were excellent. Felt wired all day. We will Be back!

Nice place with a small hometown vibe. Cappuccino was ok, not great but a nice place to read in their book area with a cup of coffee.

I can always pretty much guarantee that when I listen to or hear of some random band whose album I'm sure I'll never be able to find, Finders will have that release waiting contentedly for me. Their vinyl selection is growing by leaps and bounds as the months move along, as well. Additionally, I specifically appreciate the fact that they give ample attention to genres such as classical, world, and electronic music - good stuff, and nice that I can find Tinariwen and Ali Farke Toure as easily as I can something in Sub Pop. Their used section is great, too, vaulting wildly down one whole wall of the store - my only complaint with the section on the whole is that its shelves stretch up a good ways and the CDs are stored horizontally (as is normal, I know, I know). This makes reading the titles on most of the shelves frankly overwhelming, to be honest, and on the upper shelves, nearly impossible. A mild downer, however, in what overall is a great store to purchase music from. Dangerously good.

Good on you, good citizens and wayfarers of Bowling Green. You're endowed with a gift here. Don't overlook it!

I didn't receive a written quote. No paperwork at all. I had to send an email to the store and ask for some acknowledgement that they had my units. An employee sent me an email back saying that the store indeed had my components in their possession. Several weeks later someone from the store called me and said they could not find the necessary part. which was a simple belt. The part was available on eBay. I had to order the part for them, and then mail the part to them. Two days ago the repair person telephoned me and said the parts I furnished worked and the components were repaired. We had a pleasant conversation. She seemed to be a nice person, but I found that to be deceptive. When I appeared at the store today to pick up my repaired items, TO PAY THE STORE MONEY AS A PAYING CUSTOMER, I told the stoner behind the desk that I wanted to speak with the "beautiful young lady" that I had spoken to on the telephone a few days before. I had no intention of insulting anyone. I had not ever seen the lady I spoke to but she seemed to be a beautiful person when we spoke on the telephone. I was trying to be nice, not offensive. As soon as the repair person (who was indeed the person I spoke to on the phone) came out from the back room she reprimanded me and said that my comment was inappropriate. I was taken aback. I had not meant to offend anyone. I had not commented on anyone's physical attributes. She seemed to be a beautiful person when we spoke on the telephone, but that shows how perceptive I am. I was highly offended because here I was, a customer, wanting to give this business money, and an employee reprimands me over a comment that I did not mean to be offensive in any way shape or form. While I waited for my stereo components to be retrieved, I vocally ruminated as to how this country has changed, and how people are offended by any comment, no matter the intent. I felt attacked. I did not want to remain at this business any longer. I asked that my units be provided to me as soon as possible so that I could pay for the repair and leave. I informed the employees that I did not intend to come back and give that store any of my business ever again. I asked when the owner would be in so I could speak with him, and they told me he had left for the day. I asked when he would be there next so I could call him and they said he was not there very often. I PAID THE BUSINESS MY MONEY and took my stereo components and left. When I retuned home I sat down to write the owner of Culture Clash a letter, since he cannot be reached by telephone. Then I received a call from the owner. I told him I was in the process of composing a letter to him, as his employees had informed me he cannot be reached by telephone. He told me that his employees had told him about my being at the store. He said he had watched the videotape and that he too thought my statement was inappropriate. I told him that I did not agree, and a simple statement like that should not be sufficient to cause an employee to reprimand a customer. It's not conducive to a profitable business. I had not even been speaking to the particular employee when I made what I considered to be an innocuous comment. The owner once again disagreed. I once again wondered what is wrong with this country. I meant no offense or disrespect. In my opinion it would have been much better for the employee to disregard the statement than to make an issue of it with a paying customer and potentially lose their future business. I could not reason with the owner, who doesn't seem to be wrapped too tight. I told him that one who begs the public for money to keep the business open (he had asked for the public's money in a GoFundMe request in the past), should do whatever he can to keep paying customers. He called me an "Old F***ing Hill-jack" and said I could never enter his store again. (He apparently thinks NW OH has hills). During our conversation I did not call him names, as such is infantile. He said if I posted a negative review he would post the video of my encounter with his employees in response. I said I did not care. I did mention to him that if he intended to visit my residence, I would introduce him to my two friends. That is how loosely wrapped he is. I cannot recommend that anyone patronize this establishment. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS!!
