What a cute little bookstore nestled in the heart of perrysburg, Ohio! Independent bookstores are some of my favorite to visit. They had varied section of books at discount prices. They also had some cool unique gifts for Xmas or birthdays. For example puzzles. They have a bathroom inside. My only issue was how disorganized it was inside. You kind of had to make your way thru the maze of boxes and books. It has great potential if it was organized better. Parking is easy right out front and it's free! read more

This place is a mess! Stacks of books block the genre labels above the shelves, and even the new books sections are untidy! Is this supposed to look rumpled and cool somehow? The lone teenage staff member did not greet me, and even put on big headphones for good measure. Having said that, I like their style of having many different new books, rarely seen at other bookstores, available, but in many cases just one of each title. There's nothing more boring than going to the classics section and seeing fifteen different publications of Little Women. Their used books (in the way back by the restroom) seem a lot cleaner and newer than is typical for a used bookshop, which was nice. read more

Gathering Volumes is an amazing bookstore tucked into a Perrysburg strip mall. Denise, the owner of, is a mover and a shaker, constantly involved in literacy events, author events, teen book fairs, book clubs, etc. A great friend of local authors she regularly hosts author events (mine included) and is about as customer friendly as one can be. Denise opened the store right when I moved to Perrysburg. I stopped in very early on because I figured she'd last about 6 months, tops. Eight years later. . . Great place to browse, attend events, buy gifts or just talk books and writing with the staff. read more

This is one of the best book stores I have ever been to in my life. I just spent half an hour talking to the owner and getting recommendations for new books and authors and I am definitely coming back. This store is a top tier, independently owned place that people should be lining up for. Her selection of new books is fantastic and her knowledge is second to none. I can't wait to come back to Gathering Volumes and buy more books and if you're reading this review stop what you're doing and go inside. From very young to full grown adult you will find a book worth reading or remembering. If I could give this place more than five stars I would. read more

Gathering Volumes - The owner took a few minutes to read to my rowdy kids. - Bookstores Near Me - Perrysburg, Ohio

Was very rude when I contacted them about selling my book on consignment. They just stopped responding. When I contacted them again about a week or so later (I was going to contact them sooner but my grandma died), they were very snooty and complained about contacting them via Facebook instead of email. Their Facebook BUSINESS page. They not only lost a consignment but a customer. I do not do business with anyone who disrespects me. read more

Y'all this place is excellent! Need a book they have it or will find it for you! Owners are awesome people. Highly recommended!

Our area was in need of an independent bookstore. Gathering Volumes out does itself by not only being locally owned, but has such a friendly and warming atmosphere. The owner, Denise, will personally greet you and find you exactly what you're looking for. And if the store doesn't stock it, she'll order it for you. You'll lose yourself in the store with its book and art displays. The store is a big supporter of local authors. Book signings and events are going on every week. This bookstore is a true gem and I will never buy books from anywhere else again. read more

This is the cutest independent bookstore! The owner, Denise, is kind and really knows her books. I could spend hours in here just looking through everything! So many books and other exciting things to look at. I would always much rather spend my time and money in an indie bookstore and know that it not only helps the community but the owner, her family, and her employees. Love this place! read more

This great little bookstore comes with a friendly owner and a little bit of everything. While you're not going to find the type of selection you'd expect at a franchise bookstore, that certainly shouldn't be what you come looking for. Instead, take the time to talk to the owner and browse all of the sections. You might find something you weren't looking for...something that needed to find YOU! P.S. Also buy some of the artisan chocolate they sell - YUM! read more

Lovely little new-ish bookstore located in Perrysburg. The area was in desperate need for a new independent place, so I'm glad they stepped up! They didn't have exactly what I was looking for, but was able to special-order it quickly. Obviously a labor of love for the store owner. I will be back! read more
