What I love the most about BREW is its young, vibrant college vibes, which obviously comes naturally since it's part of the UT campus. Great ambiance, friendly service and good coffee flavor definitely makes it a more than desirable cafe to hang out or grab a quick coffee when you're around town. I can definitely see myself hanging out and doing projects if I were a student, even though these sort of pondering tend to be slightly depressing at my age.. youngsters have such liveliness, don't you think? Based on the reviews I guess I was expecting more. Both my visits were early morning. About 8 am-ish. Place has a kind of industrial look but plenty of seating. The pastries that were out at that time didn't strike my fancy. Nothing looked like I gotta have it. I ordered an earl gray tea because Im not into coffee at all. Got handed the hot water and tea bag. There's a tip jar right there so I tipped a buck for the $3 small tea. Atmosphere was eclectic with folks from college age to over 40s doing work. Now where is the wifi code? Looked around. Not on the table, napkin, sugar packet. Finally went up to the counter to ask. Looked around some more. Found out you bus your own table. Wifi works good. The tea was tea. If you want one of those fancy coffees they have them but I was kind of kicking myself wondering why I tipped 40% to get handed hot water and bus my own table. Staff werent unfriendly but most of the background noise is them chatting. Just nothing special here for me. read more

This is by far my favorite coffee spot in my neighborhood. They always get my order right! There is literally something for everyone. Lots of gluten-free options if that is something you need. Bonus... It is about a minute walk away from EV charging stations. It's a great spot to charge your car and your yourself. I have yet to have a bad drink in this place, but I'm sure if I did, they would happily make me a new one. There are always lots of locals food options being served. So sooooo glad this place exists in Toledo! I was visiting family and friends and wanted to check out a non-chain coffee shop! This place was a great find from my friend who works on campus! This building is awesome in the West Toledo/ University of Toledo area with local eats and treats from local artisans in the area! You will find All Crumbs Artesian Bakery, So Sweet Lebanese and French Pastries items and so much more. I loved the industrial feel to the place, it's very study and hangout friendly. I got a white mocha latte with almondmilk and empanadas for a late dinner before heading back to Columbus. The workers were friendly and fun. A really comfy coffee shop near the university! I decided to check out this place on a Sunday morning and it was bustling with people studying, reading, or just hanging out. There was plenty of seating around the coffee bar area and even outdoor tables. Parking wasn't an issue as there is a large parking lot around the back of the building. They have a variety of freshly brewed coffee options including local drips. If you're not a fan of coffee, they also have plenty of different teas for you to try. Their bakery is packed from freshly made croissants to bagels to brownies. They even have a variety of empanadas. I ended up getting the lentil and vegetable one. I personally loved the lentil one, it was very flavorful and filling. The veggie was good, but not as good as the lentil. Will definitely be coming back to enjoy some of their other options! read more

Once in a while I get tired of going to the big brands like Starbucks or Bigby and scout around for a local hub but I was a bit disappointed with this one. PROS: Great space for students or for anyone in general who wants to snack on something while doing work. Great service and lovely staff. Free WiFi . Close to UT. There are board games there as well so it is a good space to lounge with friends. CONS: I ordered the pumpkin spice latte and blueberry muffin which came to $6.23 (pro-tip: if you check in on yelp when you get to the coffee shop you'll get 10% off). The coffee wasn't all that great. Plus the muffin tasted like the dough was still raw. It was really difficult to eat. There also wasn't a lot of options for pastries. Great place to grab a coffee and study. I really like their teas as well. The staff is super friendly! Sometimes they have music events or open mic nights, not my favorite thing and I avoid coming when they have those. I frequent this place quite a bit since it is so close to the UT campus and hospital. I hope the new location has more comfortable seating though! read more

Yesterday was my first time at BREW, and I can't wait to return soon. The staff were courteous without being intrusive and skillful without being pretentious. I was a bit indecisive so he asked about my likes and dislikes and had several suggestions. I started with a latte with 2 shots of vanilla syrup. I worked for about an hour and then returned to place a to go order for a tall blended latte with caramel for my boyfriend and a coffee con miel with almond milk for myself. I nabbed a blueberry scone as well. Every item we tried was fantastic and kept us full and happy during the Tigers game. Plus, the environment (including restrooms) were clean and relaxed. In my own personal opinion, it's good for the average college student who wants a cute place to study and drink some decent coffee. Brew is a cool college coffee bar. The staff is friendly and generally helpful, though not everyone who works there has an answer to every question. The coolest thing is the coffee "grid" which lists every coffee and its notes based on different available brewing methods. Very knowledgeable, and the coffee is good. It's advertised as "local" which maybe Ann Arbor technically is, but I also think Zingerman's coffee is overrated based on its overall reputation. Still good, of course. It's a nice, comfortable spot with some good pastries to eat with tasty drinks. read more
