Met my daughter for late lunch and she wanted a restaurant with great cold coffee options that also serve food. We decided on First Watch. Great choice after all. First - the parking lot is large and easy to get in/out. Second - we went in at 12:40 and were seated immediately. Lots of tables to handle a crowd. Third - Haley was our server and she was very friendly and attentive. My daughter got the honey caramel crunch iced coffee, and we checked the menu. Haley gave us perfect amount of time to decide and I chose the biscuits and gravy side along with the seasoned potatoes. Very delicious, and the portion was just right to not feel too stuffed but also feel satisfied. Haley got me a drink to go as we were leaving. I noticed every one working was smiling and courteous. Everyone here is always nice and I never feel rushed, even when it's super busy. It can be hard to find parking on weekends since the lot shares with several businesses. I usually do the online waitlist for the weekends. Food is good, it's nothing super fancy. Just good simple food. read more

Thought I try something different and got the BLT Eggs Benedict it was mediocre. The lemon hollandaise on the Benedict was not to my taste. The ciabatta bread was hard and had to be cut with a knife. We were really disappointed with our visit. My "poached" eggs came out overcooked (like a boiled egg), my husband's were severely undercooked, and the potatoes weren't done. Even when the eggs were remade, it took 15 minutes and by then the rest of our food was cold. The pumpkin pancake had good flavor but was raw in the center, and they were also out of regular pancake batter and pumpkin donuts. Our waitress was kind, but service was slow. This place is one of my favorite breakfast places. It never misses!!! Service was amazing. Every time I go I always pair it with one of their juices which goes together so nicely. It's one of those breakfast places that you just want to take your friends and family to. The inside is very clean and well organized with the amount of customers coming in each time. Visited Oct 19, 2023. I had the day off therefore brought my daughter here for a mommy and me date. I usually have a pretty decent experience. This day was not one of those days. I checked in online to speed up the wait time but it seems that it had the opposite effect. After I checked in and sat down I watched the host seat everyone who walked in after my check in first before attending to the virtual que. I was pretty upset. I went up to see when he'll seat me and he then said 'oh i was just about to call you guys'. Indeed he was because I was now standing there, but if I hadn't then he would have continued seating everyone else standing behind me before getting back onto the virtual que. From check-in to being seated took 22 mins. My mistake was sitting down after checking in. Everyone who walked in said they were just walk ins so I was feeling frustrated because after 20m I'm committed to the wait and do not want to drag out a hangry toddler to wait somewhere else. After being seated the server was nice but also forgetful. Food was good, decent size. The drink ordered was not good - Honey Caramel Crunch, it just had an awful aftertaste. Came here for lunch with three other people and a baby. We opted for outdoor seating so we could sit right away. I am kicking myself for not getting the name of the server because she was AMAZING. She checked on us regularly and food came out in a reasonable time. The only thing we would change about our meals were the following: my shrimp and grits and my sisters farmhouse hash had sundried tomatoes, but the menu advertised house roasted/regular tomatoes. The food was good a good variety of healthy food. They have fresh made fruit juices . The service was quick and waitress was nice. I would say the noise level was a bit on the high side as the background music was kinda of loud and made it a little chaotic. We ordered BLTE was great, turkey sandwich was average, chicken avocado chop salad was great, grits with Floridan French toast with fruit was good. The pancake was not good had a weird taste to it . Great atmosphere and customer service at this beautiful First Watch location! From the moment I entered the restaurant, I was greeted with smiling faces and seated with no wait. Our server was awesome and made it an even more enjoyable experience! I ordered the Chorizo Omelet and it was absolutely delicious. My recommendation would be to get hollandaise sauce on top! The manager was also super friendly and even ran out to the parking lot to hand me a bag I forgot on my chair at my table. We have been to a number of these across the country, and when we arrived in town looking for a late brunch we saw this was in the neighborhood, so we stopped in. It was every bit as good as all the other locations that we have been to. Great food, great service, and very reasonable pricing. My wife got the Breakfast Power Bowl, which was a huge serving of quinoa, sausage, veggies, and 2 eggs. I'm some other locations they use meat substitutes, but this was 'real' meat sausage. I got the Baja Turkey Burger, which was a very tasty turkey patty with toppings that complemented the sandwich very nicely. It was a blast of fresh flavors. Our server, Mona, was exceptionally pleasant and attentive. All of the other employees that we encountered on the visit were equally pleasant, and I can see how that might be challenging as we were there right before closing. First watch is very subpar in my opinion there are several hole in the wall spots in the Nashville in Smyrna area that you can go to instead of this place it wasn't good enough to knock my socks off in my personal opinion but also not horrible. My daughter received her food within 10 minutes, but I waited over 30 minutes for mine. When I was finally able to eat, I took my daughter to the bathroom for just three minutes, and when we returned, my food and coffee had been thrown away. We have always loved First Watch and this was our first time at this location. Our moms were in town and we took them there for a Mother's Day brunch. We added our name to the wait list two hours before we got there. It was crazy busy, but it took 10 min or less for is to be seated and it was eight of us. Here I am again! I come here for breakfast everyone I visit nashville. Either this store or the hermitage store. I tried something new this time. I always order the avocado toast with cheese grits but this time decided to try something new. They have a new fall menu so I opted for something from it. It's called Modern Croque Madam. I enjoyed it but was disappointed to notice the poster on the door had tomato on it and I didn't get any. Oh well. I still enjoyed it and of course I love their cheese grits here. The server was wonderful, very attentive and took care of everything I needed quickly. The creamer bowl on my table had only flavored creamers and she brought regular ones right away. Very busy on a Saturday morning. We put our name in on the waitlist before driving here so I would recommend doing that. We ordered two "shareables" and our entrees. We were never asked but they all came together and they forgot one of our shareable items. We ordered right away but our server did not come back to talk to us until we were halfway done with our entree which our food took almost an hour. The chopped salad was fine but the dressing was broken and didn't seem to fit the type of salad. The menu didn't have any description of the salad or what dressing came with it. I found it odd that a chopped salad had black beans, corn, and tortilla strips. The dressing itself was not very good. After we had to ask for the manager because our cornbread was not delivered, the server brought us one a few minutes later and said it was over cooked and asked if we wanted a different one... like what?? So you knew it wasn't cooked right, you forgot about it anyways, and then you still gave it to us? We asked her why our shareable didn't come out first and her response was "because i didn't do it that way". It's a typical breakfast place with overpriced food and it just felt like once we got our food they tried to shuffle us out of there. I wasn't impressed by this first watch at all. The eggs Benedict I ordered was a hot mess of a plate. My egg was already running, and the egg white had ripped before she brought out my plate, and when I told her this didn't look correct, she tried to tell my what a poached egg was like I don't eat eggs, Benedict, ALL THE TIME! I think I know what it's supposed to look and taste like. Anyways, I sent the plate back and ordered the traditional, but I felt like the potatoes were way too soft, the egg portion was skimpy. Idk I just wasn't feeling this place, and that's very unfortunate because I always like their food and portions at the Dallas locations. However, outside of the food part. First time I ordered the Trifecta comes with your choice of a multigrain pancake or a Belgian waffle, eggs and a meat. I ordered the pomegranate mule , the Belgian waffle, subbed roasted potatoes instead of eggs an turkey sausage. The waffle was good it was very fluffy and came with berry compote and butter. The potatoes were good sausage was ok too. Not sure if I'd go back though. They offer breakfast and lunch items. Overall as far as the food it was ok to me nothing special. The service was great! 2nd time I ordered off the seasonal menu. I ordered the steak and eggs hash. This came with chopped steak and potatoes and spinach under eggs and a white Parmesan sauce. This was the best First Watch I've eaten in TN! I actually gave up on this restaurant after eating at the one on 8th Avenue and old hickory. I really need for both of them to take a refresher course on how to make breakfast or just how to make food taste good. As well as not serving cold bread. Or serving an avocado omelette with only two slices of avocado. And then having the nerve to say they don't accept veterans discounts! But really... 8th Ave and Old Hickory need to take the refresher course at the Smyrna location! I was so upset that I ordered a salad because I just knew the food was going to be crappy. I knew the dressing wasn't going to have any taste so I made sure it was on the side. I just knew it really wasn't going to be that good. But I'll be darned! They sure enough made me stand corrected! My sister-in-law's omelette had more than two pieces of anything at it. You hear that melrose! More than two pieces of avocado! And everybody who had potatoes hard because they were undercook and actually had seasoning... geez louise! I wish I would have gotten an actual breakfast dish! Long story. I ordered 2 Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and 2 Hardwood Smoked Bacon. I made the order online. It was pouring rain. I go in and wait for my order. They came out with my order. I took my order to the car in heavy rain. When I got to my car, the bag seemed light. I looked in and discovered only half of my order. I walked back inside in the rain, and explained the problem. I had to show my order. They said it would take 3 minutes to fix it. That wasn't true. After all this, I get home and discover the bottom pancake was not a lemon ricotta. They had put the correct one on top to disguise the wrong one on the bottom. I assume whoever did this is not working there because NASA wasn't hiring. Borders on criminal behavior. Terrible customer service and kitchen management. I found my bacon orders were just pieces, not a single strip in either order. I would beware of anything served in this business.
