The employees are super awesome!!!! My waitress made sure that I got everything I needed for my coffee and some! I got the biscuits and turkey sausage gravy- which I never had so she brought out a sample of the gravy so I could try it before I committed! It was delicious!!!! And plenty of it. I got way stuffed. My husband and I stopped in for lunch, today. Multiple servers and front of house staff walked by us before the cashier finally seated us. No big deal. We were perusing our menu, no one had stopped by for our drink order or even acknowledge our presence. Five minutes go by and a table that had just been seated in a different area was already being helped. A server walked by our table, made eye contact then helped the table behind us and walked back to the kitchen down a back wall. I was watching the time. 4 minutes later a different server helps the table on our other side and my husband asks if he's our server. He says no but he sees our server coming (the same one who had made eye contact earlier) who proceeded to return to the kitchen at the back wall. My husband asked about service and he said just a minute as he ran away. We are now at ten minutes, my husband has to get back to work, so we left. A couple of staff tried to say our server was coming and I said I wasn't waiting any longer. I was hungry and now frustrated. I would not have been nice. I worked in the restaurant business for several years. Back of house and front of house. I know it's hard and stressful. But the first lesson you learn as a server is you ALWAYS take the time to acknowledge your tables. read more

I had the 2 eggs, 1 sausage, and a waffle with coffee. Everything was perfect. The waffle was the best I've ever had. Eggs over easy were cooked perfect. Service was great and served quickly. One thing really offended me. When I went to pay the machine asked how much tip and STARTED at 20%. So for a $30 meal I'm pressured to tip a minimum of $6. Add that up for a server that could easily have 4 tables an hour. Don't they pay the servers? Tipping is getting way out of hand. read more

I absolutely love the "new first watch". I say new because I have been coming here for years and the experiences has definitely gone up in customer service and food quality. LT was our waitress she was very attentive and has a great attitude as a waitress. She definitely knows how to serve. I'm not sure if they have new management or what but the food even tasted better. Go check for yourself! Especially during these time where workers are limited but the service doesn't fall through the cracks due to lack of workers. My wife and I stopped by on Saturday around 9. We got a seat right away and the food came out quickly. Our server was prompt and accurate. The food was pretty good. I got Chorizo Chili omelet (chorizo on the side due to no animal welfare standards for pigs at First Watch) and it was good and filling. The green chili's aren't very flavorful, so don't expect this to taste like New Mexico. Also, the green salsa here is tomatillo, not green chili. My wife got farmhouse bowl. She loves it. Very filling and she ended up bringing half home. Overall, breakfast was good and we would come back again. A note about Covid: I'm not someone who cares much about them wearing masks, but if it's important to you, the check out person had hers pulled down pretty much the whole time she was working the register. She was behind plexiglass so I don't think it matters, but why have it if you aren't gon a wear it. Also, the menus said that they were cleaned in between customers. My boyfriend and I decided to visit First Watch off of Sam Ridley. Our waitress Kate was amazing. She was so attentive to our needs, and was constantly making sure everything was perfect. First watch is always good for brunch, but this location just added mimosas to their menu! Complete with a mini bottle of champagne and a glass of juice of your choice. The food was great and they spaced out everyone in the restaurant for COVID safety. Definitely will visit again, especially for the newly added mimosas. read more

Does this look OK to serve? I ordered my food at 750. The website said it would be ready at 816 am. I arrive at the store at 810 tell the lady behind the register I'm here to pickup. She says have a seat they will bring it to the Togo table when it's ready. She never asked my name or Checked for my food, she began talking to someone she was training. Before I sit I do a quick scan of their prep area and I see two togo bags sealed up, ( yes I'm observant I get paid to be). They bring out one of the bags lay it in the counter it wasn't mine. 820 I get up and ask for coffee while I wait and the to go bag remains on the counter in the same spot I observe it before. Bottom line I asked someone else to check at 835 , she asked the chef, I wasn't on his list she checked my receipt then decided to check check the name on the bag and BEHOLD it was mine. I'm not mad that I had to wait I'm upset that the woman didn't bother to check on my food or make an attempt at good customer service. When I arrived at work this is how my food looked. Today was mine and my moms first time stopping at the First Watch on Sam Ridley in smyrna. We walked in and stood there for 2 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us, not even a good morning. However, the employees did see us come in and they did see us, but no acknowledgement. The employees that we did encounter were rude with no manners. The manager, however, at least I believe she was the manager, was very nice. As we ordered our food to go we were waiting for our food to come out and I look down and see a dead roach by the kitchen. I gave 2 stars because the food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the greatest. Definitely not worth $19 for an omelet and a drink. From start to finish, this place deserves every bit of five star and some. The wait was short, I asked for a booth and they were able to accommodate, the food was exceptional and cooked perfectly. The reason for the one star was due to the overall uncleanliness of tge restaurant and the overall health standards of this location not to mention my Turkey Burger taste like presses cardboard. The seats all had trash on them and I was handed a towel to dry my seat. The dirt on the towel showed they don't clean them regularly. The Sam ridley location underwent a manager change recently & we noticed a drop in service and food portions and today was horrible. It took 15 minutes to order our food and I had to ask for water 3 times. When the food came the bacon was like out of the fridge so I sent it back. Giving this place 4 stars. Located in a tight shopping center so parking is a bit sparse when busy. We came at brunch on Saturday so the entire place was packed. They estimated 20 min wait but luckily a table opened up and we were sat and greeted within 5 mins. Had to wait around 20-25 for food though. The prices are decent ($16 under) but food left us wanting more. Their multigrain and sourdough breads that come with meals are great with butter and preserves. The kale tonic I had was refreshing also. Coffee is self serve which is nice. I had the crab omelette and although the filling was good and plenty of real crab meat, the egg itself lacked flavor. We also had smoked salmon eggs Benedict and in general lacked seasoning and finesse. Million dollar bacon was good but doesn't hold up to the name. Kids plates compare to other kids meals in any restaurant. Total for 3 kids and 2 adults came out to $60 (with tip $72 -- my kids are messy).
