First time into Champy's was decent. I will say, we went on possibly the coldest day (2 degrees outside), but insulation in the building is awful. We originally were sat at a smaller four-person table right by the roll up windows towards the front of the restaurant, and the draft was so intense, we were freezing even with jackets on. We asked to be seated somewhere else, which they did (although that spot wasn't much better), and placed another couple at the original table. Within minutes they had the same issue... bundling up, switching seats around, etc. our waitress seemed on the younger side, and maybe even new. But she appeared visibly confused with just about every request we had. Her response was usually "uhhhh..... okay" followed by us getting wrong drinks/food. The food overall was decent. The chicken tenders were juicy and crispy and the ranch was great. Their fries were delicious. It likely wouldn't be my first choice in picking a place to eat, but I do believe it deserves a second chance. I'll be going back when it's warmer to hopefully have a different experience. read more

Came here with a large group of soccer players and parents. We called to reservations earlier in the day. Champy's staff was pleasant and ready to accommodate our party of about 30 people. I really loved the food I got here. The wings and tenders were cooked to perfection and the buffalo sauce for the wings was awesome. I really enjoyed the ranch they served as well. Their fries were next level, I couldn't stop snacking on them even after I was full. Tennessee doesn't have many crawfish options like NOLA, but Champy's offers a delicious and reasonably priced alternative. You can choose between 2, 4, or 6 pounds--we went with 4 pounds, and it was a lot! I always ask for cocktail sauce and then add Culver's hot sauce for extra kick, and it hits the spot. I'm glad this location now offers crawfish because, when they first opened, it was only available at the Murfreesboro location. The service is always great. Their fried chicken, which they're known for, is decent, but we mainly come here between early March and late April just for the crawfish. At 5:30 PM, we were the only table eating crawfish, but we also enjoyed a Dirty Shirley Temple--double well-poured during happy hour. The bathrooms were clean, the music wasn't too loud, and there was plenty of parking since it's right next to Home Depot. There was no wait, as they have plenty of tables, but if you're coming with a big group, I'd recommend arriving early, especially on weekends. read more

I ordered through DoorDash so I'm not sure about the service, but my food was hot and ready! The chicken sandwich was the best chicken sandwich I've ever had! It was juicy and delicious with the slaw and pickles. The green beans were also flavorful. They do add bacon to the green beans, so be aware of that if you're pork conscious. My boyfriend had the 3 piece and he enjoyed the fires and Mac and cheese. He did say the chicken had a lot of breading for his taste, and it was a little on the dry side. read more

There were not a lot of people inside and we were greeted with smiles and seated right away. I had the chicken salad, a side of coleslaw, and the Mac and cheese side. The salad was the biggest portion I've ever had at a restaurant. It didn't have a ton of ingredients, but it was fresh and tasty. I especially like their ranch dressing. The fried chicken came in large pieces that you have to cut into smaller pieces yourself. I like that there was cheese on top of the chicken that melted into it. There is also small pickles in the salad and tomatoes. The coleslaw tasted fresh as well. We had both the cheddar Mac and cheese and the Gouda bacon Mac and cheese. The waitresses were amiable, had great manners, and were well informed. They were reliable, helpful, and intelligentent to talk to. One was in training and the trainer, both had these great qualities. You could tell they take pride in their work, respect their management and fellow workers. The food was delicious and plentiful! This is hands-down some of the best chicken I've ever had. On my first visit, I tried the chicken sandwich, and the next night I went back for the chicken hunks. Both were incredible. My grandma ordered the cod, and she loved it too. Everything we had was seriously great. What really stands out is that everything is made fresh to order, and the chicken is clearly high-quality, real chicken. The breading is light, crispy, and perfectly done. Fun place to drink, eat, and vibe. The interior of this place is eccentric and unique. Everywhere you look you find something new to look at. The food doesn't fall behind. The fried jalapeño basket was delicious. There was so much juice in each jalapeño slice! I couldn't stop reaching for them. I got the award winning hot wings. They were smoky and paired well with their ranch. Unfortunately, I don't think I would order them again. Not because they were bad, but because I found something even better on the menu. My boyfriend let me have a taste of his catfish platter and I was jealous. Who would of known Champy's knew how to make some tasty catfish! The only criticism I have for this place is due to service and seating. We came here on a Friday night and we knew it was going to be a bit rowdy. No drink refills, everything was salty and green beans were so seasoned we couldn't eat them. Then to top everything off, my three kids wanted a gumball from the machine, fifty cents a piece. It took 5 tries to get 3 gumballs. I made the hostess aware of the situation and her response was "it's just always hit or miss" and then didn't offer to replace the quarters. I'm writing to express my frustration with what appears to be an inconsistent and unreasonable policy. I was told that your company is a Tennessee Vols affiliate and therefore does not allow the volume to be turned on for any other games -- even when UT isn't playing. To make matters worse, the game on was a Vanderbilt game, and yet the sound still wasn't allowed? This doesn't make sense and feels unnecessarily restrictive, especially for customers who are simply trying to enjoy local college sports. Can someone please clarify if this is an official policy? If so, I'd like to understand the reasoning behind it, because it's incredibly frustrating as a fan **If you going to support Tennessee teams you should support all of them! read more

Of course we have to try out the newest restaurant in our town! We went on a Wednesday evening, which just happened to be their "GRAND OPENING" but luckily we didn't have to wait too long! We were seated and greeted immediately. We ordered drinks and pretty soon after we placed our food order. We would normally order an appetizer but it was 7:30 and we were looking to get in and out with the kids! I ordered the 2 piece white meat basket, my husband had the 3 piece dark meat plate, and our two kids split the 3 piece tender plate! All of the sides were very good. Between us all we got both macs(cheddar and gouda), slaw, green beans, and fries! I am kind of a slaw snob and their slaw was very good! The first time my catfish entree came without tartar sauce and I spent over 30 mins tonight waiting on dinner only to have the order cancelled due to them being "closed" after it was being prepared with a Dasher assigned and another Dasher trying to get it. Everything on the menu is great with one exception. The catfish. Now I'm no expert but I know the texture and earthy bottom of the pond flavor of catfish when I have it and this wasn't it. I think it's sway which has a chewier texture and little to no flavor. I had it once when I dinned in and just left a napkin covering what I didn't eat which was almost all of it and I excused myself (I paid of course). I've always been embarrassed about complaining. I wanted to believe that they really have catfish so I Postmated a 2 piece dark snack and 1 piece of catfish (just to make sure). It was the same as my last experience. In my experience, if the word Delta is anywhere on your menu and you serve catfish, it sure as hell better be real catfish. I hate to complain about this because the fried chicken is some of the best I've ever had but I just can't get past that damn catfish. read more

As soon as we leave, they open a fried chicken joint! The decor feels kinda like it was opened by the children of parents that grew up on Cracker Barrel, Po Folks & Toot's. "Hey! Let's merge all those concepts! It'll be cool!" It kinda is... Very laid-back atmosphere - hoaky but that's HO-KAY! The prices really are not that bad. And they have chicken livers! There are not many local places anymore that sell chicken livers - not even the aforementioned Cracker Barrel. Even back when they did, they were fried so hard they lost all flavor. Not here! They were about perfect. We also had the half fried chicken. Of the sides, we tried the french fries, mashed potatoes & gravy, coleslaw and baked beans. My ONLY complaint is the small serving size of everything except the fries. The potatoes and gravy will just piss you off. Increase the size of these sides if only by 50% and charge a little more if necessary. But when you charge $4 (when purchased individually) for about 3 ounces of product there will be disappointment. On the bright side, they all tasted great! I recommend sharing meals. Small sides aside, this is a lot of food! On our next visit, we plan of sharing a four-piece catfish dinner and just get an extra (albeit small) side of slaw. And maybe some more chicken livers... read more

Cause that's my go to drink. It was really good. We placed our food orders and we waited for a long time. Our server, Jocelyn informed us that the system did not send our order to the back. Had very high hopes for this place. The interior is great - chaotic decorations but in a good way. But that's pretty much it. We stood there waiting to be sat for way too long while the 3 people at the front chatted and literally ignored us. When we finally got seated they put us near the bar. It was the middle of the day/late lunch and tbh it was gross seeing the old men leering and trying to flirt with the bartenders. I felt bad for them. Our server was friendly but also didn't really seem attentive. She felt the need to correct me on my pronunciation of a beer (ok?? so?), which was annoying and she really could have told us about the happy hour buy one get one free.
