This is a very consistent national chain. For the reliability, I gave it its 4th star. The food is always well prepared, but there is never anything that stands out as a "must have". Came here the day after Christmas with a pretty large group. They were able to get us all in for lunch. The staff was very attentive! The food was great. We've been going here every Sunday for years, and before every meal we've had a cup of soup. For the past 5 months, however they had the same soup every Sunday, Broccoli Cheddar, instead of having a variety to choose from like they used to. I came this weekend with my extended family as we often stop by when they are in town. It was a group of 11. We came by at 9 on a Saturday, and they had no problem accommodating us. It was getting much busier as we were leaving. The server was very friendly and attentive. Everyone's meal was correct and there was a nice variety of options for even picky eaters in the group. My 7-year-old rated his waffle as 11/10, and he has had a lot of waffles, ha! Everyone enjoyed their meals and all the food looked very good! I personally try to avoid gluten and enjoyed eggs and breakfast potatoes. I did not see any dedicated gluten free items, but I did not ask (I was happy with options and do not have Celiac disease. I would definitely call ahead and speak with a manager if anyone does and is considering eating here.) I would definitely recommend stopping in for breakfast with a small or large group. read more

I find myself ordering veggie omelettes just about every time I go out for breakfast and then never finishing the home fries and toast because it's so many carbs. Diners are cute too because they usually are filled with so many corny jokes and signs on the walls, but the farmhouse ascetic is definitely a new hot trend! Wooden seats and tables, iron poles, minimal decor, beautiful light fixtures, etc. They've got many healthy options to choose from, I went with the chia seed pudding, sounds simple right? Nope, it was loaded with bold flavors, chia seeds soaked in coconut milk, lots of fruit, and a delicious tart berry sauce. Came with one piece of wholegrain toast smothered in almond butter, and then the best part, with thin salt shavings to enhance the almond butter. So yum! My boyfriend got the breakfast chicken chimichanga which also had a unique spin on it and was full of delicious flavor. We enjoyed fresh hot coffee, with a small coffee carafe left on table to refresh whenever we needed. Service was wonderful, I wish I knew the name of our waitress to give her a shoutout because she was incredibly sweet and gave us great service. 10/10 recommend tho read more

Always nice to see a familiar smiling face. We were quickly seated. Ordered breakfast and coffee right away. Food came and was quite nice. It was served warm enough and accurate. It was served in a timely fashion and with a smile. The eggs were cooked to order and one of my breakfast-buddies ordered an AMAZING waffle. We love first watch! The staff is so friendly, and the service is great. Their food is absolutely delicious, and they even have some fun seasonal items - my husband loves the cinnamon chip pancakes when they're available. Their breakfast potatoes are absolutely amazing- don't miss them! I personally don't normally like breakfast food, but since the menu includes some sandwiches and a wide variety of options, I'm always able to order something I like. The avocado toast is great, and last year they even had a variation with beet that I hope makes a comeback! Their coffee is also amazing. During covid, my husband and I have been ordering meals to go, and generally have had wonderful experiences. Our order did have a few issues once, but the manager, Mike reached out quickly and made it right- and he was so friendly and seemed to really care about customer experience. I will never understand the obsession people have with going out to breakfast. If I have to get up early, I like to take my own sweet time and gently ease into my breakfast. This means I would rather NOT get in a car and wait in line with with senior citizens and ants-in-the-pants kids for a piece of toast. There are times when I do have to eat breakfast out and I have always found First Watch to be a pretty painless encounter. There's nothing extremely special about the food, although they do bend towards some healthy options, like egg whites, multigrain and turkey sausage. I always order the same thing, the Tri-fecta- A Belgian waffle, with two eggs* and your choice of bacon, turkey sausage, seasoned turkey patty or sausage link. It is always perfect. There is an ease here and it is a well oiled machine. Although you will encounter a wait on weekends, the wait staff really have their system down, quick and friendly. The kitchen really cranks it out and the host orchestrates the whole scene like a poor mans ballet. I really love how they drop off a picture of iced water at your table, same with coffee. Hmmmm, not sure what's going on with this location. First off, let me start off by saying the staff is AWESOME at this location of First Watch. Very courteous, nice, helpful ... all that. I'm just getting a weird vibe from everything else. :-( The food is definitely geared toward people over 70 years of age (no offense to anyone in this age group), it just appears that the food is made relatively bland. For those that need their food prepared this way, rock on, come here. However, DISCLAIMER: the food is "good", just not exciting for these taste buds. They do provide Cholula hot sauce, which is nice. I had the clam chowder, which again was fine, but needed to add a bit of pepper & hot sauce to bring the flavor profile up. My Grilled Turkey sandwich was good -- I opted for the special of the day, which instead of Monterey Jack cheese & ranch dressing on sourdough, it came blue cheese crumbles served on rye. Again, food was fine, & the blue cheese flavor came through, but still kind of bland. After writing what I've written so far, I've decided to up the review from 3 to 4, because I'm not going to punish a restaurant/chain from wanting to target a specific group of customers. First Watch is good for what it is. For me, I need to stick with their breakfast options more, but am willing to try other things.
