Had the most amazing girls lunch here! They were out of my favorite green juice but that's okay ! This korean chicken wrap was so so delicious! It was packed and the vibes were great! Beautiful day out!

Stopped in on Sunday just after they open, but before the church crowd. I did feel the counter was set up backwards, being my first time I was a bit confused on where to actually order but after walking past everything I found the line of people in the back corner. I expected to order where the drink pick up is near the front then travel around and pick up your stuff on the way to the table. The pastries and cookies looked amazing with large portion sizes. Cookies looked to be about an inch thick. I went with the Spicy Bloody Mary for a drink and the Carnitas Burrito for my breakfast. Spicy Bloody was good, definitely had a extra kick and is a true spicy!! Carnitas Burrito was a huge portion and packed with ingredients, Yes it is the only thing I have had on the menu but if this is any indication of what to expect I can't see how you can go wrong. My only complaint was that it was a wet burrito and due to the juices it did not hold up long.

Mixed feelings about this spot. Positives: -bright and spacious -lots of free parking -the gluten-free brownie was deliciously fudgy Negatives: -I was handed the brownie on a plate and then told to go get my own fork from the self serve counter, weirdly giving "not my job" vibes -drink menu had no prices. Is the cup of tea $3? $8? If you won't make that clear, I won't order it and play hostage to whatever you decide to charge me. Just be clear.

Really good wholesome clean food. Doesn't get better than this. Also who doesn't love a good curry???

The charcoal latte with a shot of espresso was not too sweet. The gluten-free frosted sugar cookie was pretty good. The coconut macaroon was alright. The Turkish eggs were pretty good. However, it's a bit expensive for the portion sizes. At least it was nice inside and it sold some things.

My husband and I stopped in to try this place that was recommended due to the large gluten free menu. We were very pleased! The service was good and helpful. They have an extensive selection of desserts that are all gluten free, we tried a cupcake and a sugar cookie and a black mango iced tea and a caramel oat milk latte at this visit. The drinks were good as well and were brought to our table after ordering. It's a very busy place but we went around 2 and found a place easily since they have a lot of seating inside and out. It was a casual place and relaxed but lively setting that wasn't too loud. We will definitely be back.

Believe it or not, this corner of Ranchmart used to be home to bowling alleys, a pool hall, and the smoke of about a hundred Marlboro reds firing off at the same time. Oh how times (and health?) have changed. It's now a sleek, modern, LA-meets-suburbs feeling Billie's Grocery. It's perfect for the area, IMO. Before I do my deep dive into what I like here, I have to say the prices are always about 20% more than what I'd used to expect for a healthy lunch, so this is a "sometimes" spot for me. A lot of the ingredients are things I have or could make at home, they just happen to make it.. way better. Ok so with that caveat, the food is good. I've been to the Hyde Park location several times and enjoyed many things, but on this day in Leawood, I tried a simple sounding grilled chicken caesar salad. This was far from simple though; the chicken had that distinctive smokey, grilled flavor. The salad was not overdressed but popped with flavor. There were chickpeas, grilled romaine lettuce, and kale mixed in as well. It was fantastic. Service was nice. My only old-man gripe is that it's not really full service, but kinda half to quarter service? Like, they'll bring your food, but not the utensils. It's up to you to bus your table, but you tip 20% when you pay. I kinda wish this process was streamlined more across the board but it's a minor quibble at the end of the day. They also carry and make some nice drinks to go with it; some adaptogen style drinks, some with CBD, but on this day I got a mango black tea that was perfect.

Billie's Grocery has a great atmosphere - super busy during weekend lunch rush, but slows down to be peaceful in between meal times. Whether rain or shine, the floor to ceiling windows lets in great natural light for a warm and airy dining experience/study session. Their bakery is gluten free, but the desserts didn't taste gluten free. The earl grey teacake flavor was great, but super super sweet. The Crab Scramble was a solid meal - especially with the jalapeno cream cheese. Their prices are rather high, but their ingredients feel cleaner and inside is a more upscale experience.

Quite an enjoyable experience. It's very open and spacious and it's fully glass on two walls. It's a little confusing because you order in the middle back of the building (signs hang from ceiling). You seat yourself and they have a self serve station with to go plates, silverware, water, and salt and pepper shakers which was also confusing at first. The food was good! The breakfast potatoes were my favorite part as they were well seasoned and perfectly crispy, not burnt or too soggy at all. The eggs, chicken sausage, and sourdough were all good. I would've like butter for my toast. The BG Sklet was also good if you're craving a savory breakfast. The pork belly was cooked very well. Wasn't a big fan of their coffee. The classic signature latte had a hint of vanilla and then just went plain. The charcoal latte had no caffeine (you could add some) and was also plain. There's no sweetness to it. Would love to come back and try their lunch menu.

Now that they've been open for a little bit now, it seems like they have smoothed out any soft opening concerns they had. I've been on both the weekdays and weekends during peak and off-hour meal times. Yes, it can be packed, but there is plenty of seating (they may have added some) and minimal waiting. The line can also be long but moves fairly fast. They have menus to look at while waiting in line with both their drink and food menus available. Out of all the items I tried, I really liked the Spanish Steak sandwich + sweet potato fries. Asked for the steak to be medium-well, and it was cooked perfectly. Portion size is a little more than average. Their pastry options are also a must. So many options that are gluten free, nut free, and plant based. Personal favorite has to be the lemon curd tart. Service has improved as well. They bring food out to you, take empty dishes, & refill drinks that are refillable, and they work fast. There's a section in the middle of the place for you to grab your own utensils, napkins, water, and to-go boxes. Natural lighting in here is fantastic which adds to the overall ambiance of this place. Currently they have Wi-fi available, but you do have to ask. As long as you have good headphones or don't mind the chatter, this is also a great place to study!

Billie's Grocery has been getting a lot of buzz around social media lately so I wanted to step in and finally try the infamous place myself. I stopped by on a mid friday morning and although it was just mid morning, this location was a little busy. Still received incredible fast service, I was just a bit surprised. I believe the Kansas City location is much busier so if you're in the area or don't mind driving to this location- i'd recommend coming here. I wanted to try different things on the menu to give an authentic and fair review. I opted to order the Carnitas Burrito, LA strawberry healer and one of their tasty looking pastries. Let's start off with the LA Healer.. there is nothing special about this smoothie. Sure, it has collagen, sea moss - nutritious properties but for $10, I expected for it to taste much better. The homemade strawberry glaze in itself was pretty good but I would rather save my money than get another smoothie. I would have to rate this a 2/5 I was recommended to try the Carnitas Burrito by a friend and i'm super happy I decided to get this. The burrito is huge and the carnitas in the actual burrito is packed with flavor. I wish the potatoes were a bit crispier to help with the overall texture but nonetheless, the flavor was on point. It comes with a small side of pico and salsa, wish there was a bit more pico but I can't really find anything to complain about. The burrito definitely deserves a 5/5. Finally ended my brunch with a cupcake that I saw in their showcase of pastries. I'm a huge chocolate and peanut butter fan so I thought this was the most appropriate thing to order. The frosting was incredibly hard and the cupcake itself was super dry. The flavor was okay but I probably wouldn't order this again.. I'd have to rate this a 2/5. The show stopper here was definitely the burrito. I plan on coming back just for this but am open to trying different menu items they have featured. Will probably stay away from their drinks and pastries though.

Billie's Grocery is a gem for anyone looking for a great breakfast or lunch. Their food and baked goods are absolutely delicious--I popped in for breakfast but already have my eye on their lunch menu for next time. This is also a great option for gluten free people! Their food options are very dietary friendly. It is fairly casual but still very chic. You order at a counter and seat yourself. There is plenty of inside seating and limited outside tables. Overall, delicious and quality food with a lot of options in a cool atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!

It was like walking into a casino, where it's so cold you forget that you're just another sucker losing next month's alimony payment. The menu is outstanding, with lots of options for vegetarians and savages alike. We opted for the huevos rancheros and breakfast tacos. Both excellent, and not too spicy! Coffee and spiciness don't really compliment each other. Maybe that's just me. Our server was good tempered, gracious and conversational. Ok, so maybe she forgot my coffee, didn't offer refills, didn't bring my toast out early as requested, and just told us what we owed rather than giving us a bill. The Urban Egg experience was so positive, these small trifles were hardly noticeable.

But...the service wasn't very good. The coffee didn't come before the meal, and we had to flag her down for that. Then there was no coffee refill, so my husband just went and helped himself. He asked for toast before the meal, and that didn't happen - at least it did come with the meal. We also never got a bill where we could see totals of everything, we had to ask for that separately. Our server was very nice, she just wasn't really on top of things. I'm wondering if maybe she couldn't hear us well, the music is a bit on the loud side outside where we ate. But food was so good. Overall it was an ok experience, and we'll be back to try again. Food was awesome!

Tried the Texas Benny which was really good. The gravy was tasty but the potatoes weren't seasoned or salted. Also tried the Denver scrambler. Our order came out pretty quickly, though another employee had to run out with something that was left out. About five minutes into the drive home, the restaurant called again--another item had been forgotten. I turned around and called when I got back. They offered a free drink, which we declined. At that point, the food was already cooling off, and we still had a 10-minute drive ahead, so waiting around for drinks didn't seem worth it. Mom got the Eggibirria Omelette and really liked it. I tried a bite and thought it was good too. A little too "wet" for me, but that's just personal taste. Now, about my order: The Mamba Burrito. It was big, and the spinach cheese dip was actually really good--though some of it leaked into the bag during our trips. My main issue is with the burrito itself. The menu says it's filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, chorizo, pico de gallo, and potatoes, topped with spinach cheese dip. That's not quite how I'd describe it. Honestly, it should say: "A giant flour tortilla filled with potatoes (and a few other things if you dig around enough)." The potatoes weren't just part of the mix--they were the mix. The eggs were barely noticeable, buried in what felt like a mountain of spuds. Bacon showed up in a few random flakes. The sausage and chorizo were there, but the chorizo was not a flavor I enjoyed and I usually love chorizo. And the pico? Maybe a spoonful, tops. To be blunt, I think I could've ordered two full-sized baked potatoes and still ended up with less potato than what was packed into that burrito. It was just too much--overwhelming and totally out of balance. I'm not saying I'd never go back; sometimes a place deserves a second shot. But with so many options out there, this one's not exactly high on my list for a return visit.
