Planet Sub has been my go to favorite hot sub shop since I was a kid. I absolutely love "the experience" sub, it has grilled chicken, bacon, pepperoni, pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, cream cheese and a chipotle sauce. The bread is homemade daily and it shows because I've never had anything like it before. They offer two different sizes of sandwich which included the half which is about 8 inches and the whole which is about 16 inches. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach and I think I can eat a whole but I ended up with half a sandwich left. Keep that in mind when ordering. Overall this is a must try sandwich shop if you haven't been before.

One of my "Top Ten Sandwiches in KC" for sure! The hot subs at Planet sub are the only thing I'd need if I was stuck inside a yellow submarine. The ooey gooey cheesey carb masterpieces are always better ordered warm, the bread becomes roasty (is that even a word? who cares...) and toasty. The day I visited for lunch with my mom this local neighborhood Planet Sub had a list of "special subs" that caught our eye. My mom decided to be bold and try the Cuban in a sub sandwich form instead of the authentic panini pressed version. And I opted for a Pesto veggie heavy sub but added some protein power with complimentary white meat turkey. Once we received out piping hot tin-foil preserved subs to our table we were ready to fall in love at first bite. Mine had so much melty cheese I was instanly smitten and my mom's warm ham and Cuban classic white cheese made her heart melt. I loved the way the earthy pesto and zingy sundried tomatoes went with the turkey and hearty wheat bread I choose. The thing about Planet Subs menu which puts them above other local (*Mr Goodscents*) sub places is the sheer monstrosity of their menu, the options are overwhelming but in a good way. The creamy club is another favorite served all the time that both me and my mom routinely order. They also have added warm soups to their list of sub accompaniments and dare I say the baked potato rivals Paneras. When thinking of my favorite submarine sandwhich shop in the KC area and it's surrounding suburbs (there's one in Liberty!) only Planet Sub comes to mind, their hot takes on classic and creative sub sandwiches always hit the spot and never sink below sea-level.

The BBQ Brisket!

This is my top choice for planet sub locations. The people are friendly, and food is always prepared well. We tried their new BBQ brisket sandwich and it was really good! We opted to add onion, bell pepper to my fiancé's half, and minus the cheese since he is lactose intolerant. Now, if I were to get it on my own I would say to keep the cheese and onion, add pickle, add extra sauce, and then you've got a fantastic sandwich! Some other suns we love: the meatball grinder, the pesto bello, the superhero. Definitely worth trying! And if you sign up for their email list, a lot of their emails are BOGO!

First timer. Went during a busy lunch time and was offered water while I waited. Nice touch. Staff making subs were working hard and keeping up with the crowd and hit the expected wait time. I got the Greek chicken wrap. It was completely filled. Good chicken to other ingredient ratio. The addition of dill was tasty. Just wish the olives were Greek olives. I'd pay more for that.

Awesome sandwiches like at all Planet Sub locations, but this one is my favorite of the ones I've been to because they have the best service. They tend to be understaffed, so there can be a bit of a wait, but it's worth it for fresh sandwiches. The staff is always polite and have smiles on their faces, and don't get annoyed when I switch stuff up (bacon mushroom melt with light lettuce, light mayo, no Swiss, double the provolone.) Love their outdoor seating area too.

A great place to bring the kids on Monday. Kids eat free. The menu is straight forward and pretty good.

Great soup, sandwiches, and salads. Make sure to get a punch card to earn free grub, and stop by on double-punch days.

They had patio seating which most people chose since it was a nice day. There were several diners inside as well. We chose the indoor seating. We were seated immediately, and our waitress was pleasant. I ordered a make your own breakfast meal. I had eggs, gluten-free blueberry, pancakes, and sausage patties. My husband had the corned beef hash meal. The breakfast came out and a reasonable time. My husband enjoyed his and they pride themselves on having a lot of homemade food. My food was good as well, except the sausage patties were slightly overcooked. The gluten-free pancakes were excellent and I'm so happy that they have them since not a lot of places have that choice. The restaurant is a homey atmosphere and it seemed like they had a lot of regulars. My husband used the restroom and I think that the men's restroom doubles as having some utility items in there like a mop and so forth. But he said there was a cabinet that had Styrofoam cups that were facing forward, which probably should not be in there. That is the only reason I gave it to four. We would definitely come back even though it is a little bit of a drive for us.

Oh how times (and health?) have changed. It's now a sleek, modern, LA-meets-suburbs feeling Billie's Grocery. It's perfect for the area, IMO. It's bright and airy, with a good amount of outdoor seating. Good overall atmosphere, even tucked into the back corner of a strip mall. I've been to the Hyde Park location several times and enjoyed many things, but on recent days in Leawood, I've been ordering a simple sounding grilled chicken caesar salad. This was far from simple though; the chicken had that distinctive smokey, grilled flavor. The salad was not overdressed but popped with flavor. There were chickpeas, grilled romaine lettuce, and kale mixed in as well. It was fantastic. Service was nice. My only old-man gripe is that it's not really full service, but kinda half to quarter service? Like, they'll bring your food, but not the utensils. It's up to you to bus your table, but you tip 20% when you pay. I kinda wish this process was streamlined more across the board but it's a minor quibble at the end of the day. They also carry and make some nice drinks to go with it; some adaptogen style drinks, some with CBD, but most recently got their Arnold Palmer and it was perfect Too many good things on the menu, too many good bakery items to cancel out your healthy food, and really a wonderful place to go in Leawood!

Yikes. It felt like the entire staff didn't want anyone to be there. No hellos, check ins, nothing. It felt, well, hostile. My wife ordered a dish with smoked trout, her plate arrived with no smoked trout. After explaining the omission, the food runner rolled his eyes and said "I'll bring you some salmon". I said no, you need to remake the entire dish and this time include smoked trout. Well, she never saw any trout, the dish was not remade and smoked salmon was thrown on the original plate. Also, slick move asking for tips before any service is provided, and then providing god awful service. Well, that is alright, plenty of other breakfast spots to enjoy.

This location is near a very busy interchange between I-435 and State Line Road. Quite the crossroads. It's nice inside, not overly fancy yet well-kept. Not a cheap eatery, but it's Italian cuisine done right. Seeing any restaurant rather busy amidst the rush of 103rd & State Line weekday traffic is a good sign, and it was slightly hectic, to the point one server mixed up a couple of orders. Fortunately, an astute diner caught the error before it mattered. Seeing orders lined up around meal times is a sign that the business is thriving, and clearly it is. The food didn't disappoint, either. I was here for their cannoli, and they even had more than one style when I visited. Wanting to be sort of a purist, I chose the Sicilian variety (to share with my Sicilian friend who, like me, LOVES cannoli) and they were great. I shall return to try other options here. Each further bite, more flavors combined like a really good lasagna! Bread is crispy on the outside and fluffy like sourdough on the inside. If you need a more affordable meal than Jasper's, and one that doesn't skimp on flavor or authentic Italian wafting aroma, Then imho you really ought to go here!
