The blueberry pancakes had a buttery middle with a crunchy, crispy edge. Our food came out nice and hot. The reason for only four stars is, where I sat I was in the middle of the walking traffic to and from the kitchen. There was constant back and forth from servers, hostess, and manager. First Watch is my absolute favorite place for breakfast/brunch/lunch! The service is always great and the food is always on point. I love that I can order a sandwich and soup at 9am if that's what I'm in the mood for, or a giant lemon ricotta pancake at 1pm! A few of our menu favorites: elevated egg sandwich, pesto chicken quinoa bowl, sweet honey pecan salad, chicken salad melt or the ham and gruyere melt with the tomato soup. Half of my order was missing! Uber eats gave me my money back, but I don't think it's entirely Uber eats' fault. Don't get me wrong, the driver should've checked to see if everything was right before he took the order, but at the same time, only half of my food was in the bag and no one told him. I've been to First Watch in person before, and they throw the online orders on a table and drivers just grab whatever bag they think is theirs. Kinda unorganized. Something tells me the driver either 1) grabbed the bag when it wasn't ready yet (but that doesn't make sense either because the bag was sealed, meaning an employee went "yep, this is everything!" and sealed it). Or 2) there was another bag that they were preparing and the driver just grabbed one and left, and no one was watching. I know I can't know for sure what happened. This really sucks because this is my favorite restaurant. If this isn't the restaurant's fault, then sorry for the review, but at the same time, you guys should keep a watch on your online orders and make sure everything is correct before the driver takes them, or let the driver know there's another bag if that was the case. We were greeted warmly by a nice guy at the front, who also showed us our table and made sure to say bye when we left! It was a nice, clean atmosphere. It wasn't too busy and employees were nice. Everything came out in a timely manner. My fiancée and I both got the pick 2 lunch special. The food was great and the price was fair, the only thing I was missing was arugula on my sandwich (no biggie). Our waitress was sweet and made sure we were well taken care of, even though we came in close to closing time. I will definitely be back when I'm in town. Very relaxed environment. The customer service was excellent. I did not feel rushed or unwelcome. I actually ended up staying past closing and didn't realize it until I checked my phone. I had the club sandwich and kale salad. Both were delicious and made me feel good after eating them. They have nice portions for good pricing. The establishment is always busy from open to close. I can't believe this really cool breakfast place is around the corner from where I live. Apparently no one else can because it's always packed. I found out it's a chain restaurant, but you wouldn't know it because the food tastes really authentic and good. My only complaint is I had the egg sandwich - I believe it's called the Loaded Egg, or the Upscale Egg Sandwich or something - for the first time last year. It's an egg sandwich with bacon, avocado... it was so incredibly good. The next time I tried it a few months ago, it was just blah. It was like something a teenager would make for a quick bite. And for the price it should've been better. It had little avocado, it was mostly brioche bun, and it just had one egg on it. The cheese also tasted really processed. It was a different type of cheese than before. That was the last time I ordered from there. Not really on purpose it's just that it was a bad experience. Came here to meet with a couple classmates and grabbed a juice from their Summer menu, I'm not a huge fan of really sweet juices and went with the "Kale Tonic". The juice came out in a reasonable amount of time despite the place being packed for breakfast and tasted fantastic! It mostly tasted like apples which I love, with the Kale flavor of course. It consists of Kale, Fuji Apple, Cucumber and Lemon. Absolutely delicious and refreshing for only $3.99, take that Whole Foods! I eventually had to get up to get the attention of our server. When we finally dug in, the bacon was cold. So she brought out another one immediately and this one was just warm. Turns out, it's not made to order; it's made early in the morning and kept warm. We sent it back. When our main dishes came out, only 3 of the 4 made it. We waited just under 5 min for the 4 dish to come out. At the end of our meal, when our server was taking the dishes, she dropped the silverware drenched in berry topping from the French toast on to my white coat!!! As I sat through this food mess debacle, I witnessed the cashier take cash and payment from multiple ppl and wrap silverware in napkins between taking payment - talk about unsanitary. A manager never came to check up on us at any point nor did I see anyone on staff who resembled a manager. My family and I will no longer be coming to eat here ever again. read more

I was so happy to see such a nice place, it was clean and had a modern rustic decor. The menu had a large selection of trendy options, and the staff was very friendly. We all started with a juice. My traditional husband had fresh squeezed orange but myself and granddaughter opted for a blended juice from the juice bar. We were all pleased with our choices. For food I was drawn to the Floridian French toast. As a fruit lover I couldn't pass it up. It was beautiful but a little too sweet. I recommend you order a savory side to pair with it. Big enough to share so might be a better option next time. Our table also ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and the enchilada dish. I started my meal with wanting to try a juice special from the seasonal menu. My server took the time to bring out little shot cups of the different flavors so I wouldn't spend money on a drink I didn't like. They were all delicious, but I decided to go with their Kale Tonic(Fuji Apple flavor mainly, lemon, kale, and cucumber to refresh your day). After the most wonderful server gained my trust, I took her recommendations for the rest of my meal. I followed up my Kale Tonic with First Watch's Million Dollar Bacon. Me and my three friends loved the flavor and could have all put down a BLT with this stuff. My next course was the legendary: Rainbow Toast. If you're a berry lover, this is the best breakfast ever. Like a strawberry shortcake on steroids. I finished up with the Elote Mexican Street Corn Hash. They really nailed the Tex Mex Breakfast and put a defining flavor to mornings in Phoenix. We ordered the eggs benedict, huevos rancheros "tosadas" and the biscuits and gravy. As soon as I swallowed the eggs benedict, immediately tasted a very perfume chemically aftertaste. Almost as if the accidentally got cleaner spray on the food. I could not finish and kept chasing it with the water. The potatoes were extremely garlicky. Everything was gross and cold. I ate here three days in a row. I have had a variety of their menu options. Their pancakes are delicious but not as good as some places such as "The Original House of Pancakes." Their pancakes are something different and come with a variety of fillings (blueberry, etc). The syrup jar is brought to your table warm, yes warm, so it flows easier and their is not sharp contrast with the temperature of the pancakes. They pancakes and toast come with a jam cup (like ones used for ketchup).The toast here is awesome and I highly recommend it. They have a dish call avocado toast that is quite filling with it but I enjoyed it most on the side with butter and jam. They have a bacon speciality you can get with standard breakfast orders or order it on the side. The eggs and potatoes are good but not great, although I have not had a full omelet. They have a juice bar so oj, grapefruit, apple, and other juices are offered at 3 to 5 dollars. The location is surrounded by hotels whom I assume are their main customers. Parking looks bad but if you are staying at a hotel it isn't a bother. Cons are that like most places that are good it gets busy and crowded. The service is five star in friendliness and I must recommend Lee-ann (forgive the spelling she didn't have a name tag). The ambiance is kid friendly with a but of rustic charm. Price - as breakfast places go it is on par with the better and higher end with most stuff between $8 to $12 per person total. Quality is also high end with their juices, pancakes, and bacon. Delicious. This is a great place to stop if you are passing through Phoenix and want a high quality breakfast. I will eat here again if it is convenient. read more
