We love having First Watch as our neighborhood breakfast place. Their food is always fresh, great quality, and not too heavy on the stomach. They offer seasonal specials which their pumpkin pancakes are my favorite. I usually just do a pancake combo with eggs and chicken sausage. I've also tried the bacado (bacon + avocado) omelette, crab omelette, and benedicts. Their kids menu is reasonably priced and comes with seasonal fruit. First Watch recently got a liquor license so you can now enjoy cocktails and mimosas with your meal. If that's not your cup of tea, they offer freshly squeezed juices. I've been to a first watch in Cleveland, Ohio, BUT let me tell you the view from the Oro Valley one is insanely nice. I recommend the online check in line on their website as we were able to wait the 45 min for Sunday brunch at home rather than outside there. The service was a little slow and overwhelmed but the food was delicious. The biscuits from the turkey sausage gravy and biscuits were so good, idk if Ill be able to try something new after that. Recently came here for the first time and ended up going back 2 more times after the fact. The service was pretty good each time and the food had quality for sure. Love the million dollar bacon, carrot cake pancake and elevated egg sandwich. Been to this location several times in the past, usually for a weekend brunch. Weekends, I have always had a 20 minute or longer wait - I am sure it is their busy time, but maybe you want to plan heavier staffing around your busier times? Today, a Thursday, waited 35 minutes outside. Then, upon being seated, my small group waited another ten minutes with no one service. We had to go up to the cashier stand to let an employee know. The employee was gracious to come to the table and say she would take care of us. We were able to put in the order and receive water shortly thereafter. Waited another 30 minutes for the food to come out, and one of the orders did not come out. The server said he would check on it. Options for the rest of our group are to politely wait for our friend's meal or to eat the food while it's hot. It took 12 additional minutes for the missing order toe come out. The server confessed it was initially missed and had just been made. Everyone enjoyed the actual food, except for the hollandaise sauce - much too lemon forward. Coffee was good, and I always enjoy them just leaving a small pot at the table for self-serving refills on coffee. Same for the water. Was also informed the manager did not know several of the local schools held their academic promotions this morning and understaffed the shift. Suggest the management keep a closer ear/eye on community/school events such as this in the future. The staff we encountered were all working hard, I'm sure. Had high hopes for this place based on other reviews. I'm underwhelmed to say the least. Nice open airy atmosphere when you walk in and we were seated quickly. I ordered the Chili Chorizo omelet, it would gave been better called the Onion and Chili omelet as there was very little Chorizo but a bunch of onions. The salad served with it had an very strong lemon flavor to the point of being to much. As for the toast they served it should have never left the kitchen. One side of it was burnt badly (see picture). The chef just put it burnt side down but the first bite tasted very bad. Bobbies skillet hash had very little bacon but the biggest issue was the seasoning they used wasn't equally distributed but was clumped on places with other places having none. Based on reviews I expected a lot more from this restaurant. The only positive was we got seated fairly quikcly but it went downhill from there. The service is VERY SLOW! Even something as simple as bringing coffee and water took almost 10 mins. About 15 mins after we sat down we finally got to order our food. I ordered the classic eggs Benedict with seasoned potatoes and my boyfriend ordered the chickichanga (chicken chimichanga). We got our food about 35 mins later. I don't know what the chefs are doing back there but they definitely take their time cooking what seem like fairly simple dishes! They also brought out our food separately which is a big no-no. We were served almost 10 mins apart. Normally my go-to at any breakfast place is eggs Benedict but this restaurant has some of the worst eggs Benedict I've ever tried. Their hollandaise sauce had so much lemon in it that is almost tasted (and smelled) like Pinesol. It was almost inedible but we had waited so long for food already I didn't want to send it back. The seasoned potatoes were good. All in all if you have a lot of spare time to sit in a restaurant then this is the place for you. I am not sure we will be back. read more

Due to COVD19 we've stuck to takeout and have ordered over the phone and online for pick-up. We ordered a chicken sandwich, carnitas burrito and I chose the superfood kale salad with chicken for myself. Since I did not taste their dishes, this review is for my personal experience. I was not a fan of the salad. It is served with maple-roasted carrots, shaved chicken breast, dried cranberries, slivered almonds and shredded Parmesan cheese tossed in a maple-lemon dressing. The flavors were just too sweet and the combination of the warm carrots added even more sweetness to the dish that I particularly did not care for. Mother in law and my husband both enjoyed their meals. I prefer the breakfast dishes. The ordering is easy and pick up was seamless. Never been to First Watch? It's known for their brunch and healthier options. They do also feature traditional brunch items (steak and eggs, egg Benedict, etc). So there is something for everyone and most diets to enjoy. read more

Oh how the mighty have fallen. When we moved out to this area last year, this spot was an early favorite of my wife and I. Service was fast, food fresh and you barely had to wait for a seat. Today we arrived nice and early, yet we had to wait for nearly a half hour. We order immediately, hoping to speed things up along. Normally our breakfast would be out in minutes, but this time it took over 30 minutes. My skillet arrived with one overeasy egg broken. The plating was a mess. The nice large toast I was used to was replaced by much smaller pieces. The coffee which is normally delightful was instead bitter and overly roasted. I have enjoyed eating at this location no less than a dozen times, but today's experience demonstrates that the overall quality of service and speed has dropped. On a side note, the customers next to us commented that their million dollar bacon order never arrived. This is yet another sign that management is not guiding the staff in a positive direction. read more
