this was my first visit and i was very pleased with the food and service. we ordered the million dollar bacon and donut holes to start and they were delicious. the star of the show was definitely the hacienda hash though i would 100% get this again. the food is all fairly priced and very good quality. such a great spot the service is great too. read more

We have had first watch in FL and in Alabama. This was by far the worst in the bunch. I know it's newer and they are working out kinks, but it's been open for over a month. Let's start with the service. If I could give negative stars I would. We were seated quickly, but then waited 15 min for the server. I actually had to go request one. Food. The pancakes are good, but the omelets...not so much. It's clear they put in the omelet fixings cold. It reminded me of a hotel omelet station. Very very underwhelming to say the least. They forgot one of the items on our order which lead to me going to find the waiter as he was MIA after the gave us the food. By this time my 2 kids were starving. My wife wasn't eating because they forgot a meal. So basically the entire breakfast was ruined. The only reason they deserve 1 star was because they comped the breakfast. Which I can care less about. We wanted to a good breakfast to start our Sunday right. The other local breakfast places are far better than First Watch. We will not be coming back to First Watch. read more

We stopped here last weekend and it was very busy because families were out on break. There was a wait but not surprising. The staff was nice and the bathrooms were clean. The food was very good. I had smoked salmon Benedicts and my companion had soup and a sandwich. Both were very good. My one complaint was the noise level. Sound dampening dividers might help. read more

Finally made it to First Watch. Went on a Sunday morning (I know, big mistake for breakfast). Needed a place to eat while waiting for Costco to open. However, since it was just my wife and I, we sat at the bar with zero wait. Totally worth it. The space is a tad small but also roomy and comfortable with high ceilings and bright decor. The bar seating is great for ones and twos that don't want to be on a waitlist. Menu is right-sized: not too big and with a nice variety of dishes. Some good takes on old classics and some good twists. I had the million dollar Bloody Mary to start. It comes in an individual sized bottle, cute but not necessary. It's a solid drink, you get definite tomato juice flavor and a some bold spices. Not hot, more peppery. I had one of the specials, the corned beef brisket hash breakfast. The potatoes included some thinly sliced sweet potatoes which worked well with the dish. Two eggs any way you want them and a delightfully light sauce. Everything worked well and the portion was sized correctly. My wife had one of their special teas and it was delicious. She ordered a porridge bowl and was delighted with the flavors. The meal was solid, service excellent and friendly. As busy as they were, food came out promptly. It is a little pricey. With tip we were over $50. The hostess met me at the door to take down my name, but since I was only one person she suggested I sit at the bar. First of all, you gotta love a breakfast spot with a liquor license. Brunch is much more enjoyable with tasty libations. Service was a little choppy, but I let it slide because they recognized their shortcomings and made accommodations without me even having to ask. Today I enjoyed the kale tonic - it was as delicious as usual. I prefer my tonic without ice so it doesn't get watered down. I was planning to have the shrimp & grits, but they weren't on the menu at this location. So I tried the Tri-fecta. It gave me a little sweet and a little savory - the perfect brunch plate. I was debating between the carrot & pecan or lemon ricotta pancakes. To me, the best part of carrot cake is the icing. These didn't have any cream cheese component, so I opted to do the lemon ricotta. They were an up charge of $2, but certainly worth it. The pancake was light and fluffy with the perfect amount of sweetness. Then, the lemon curd offered a tangy lemon sharpness offers by fresh chopped strawberries. Absolutely fantastic! However, I took away a star for my food arriving like warm/cold and my pancake "stack" only consisting of a single cake, albeit a very large pancake. Service was attentive, but not seamless. It was a warm sunny day so we decided to try this First Watch for lunch (first time here). At 1:30 pm the outside tables are in the shade so we sat outside. We started with two mimosas. Fresh orange juice and the bubbly in a small bottle on the side. Nice touch. Then we had the brisket hash and a ham and guyere sandwich. Portions were large. Food was good. The salad with the sandwich could have used more dressing but that's minor. The bread for the sandwich was fresh. Our service was prompt and friendly. Can't find anything to fault them for (unusual for me) so 5 stars. We'll be back. read more

I placed a pickup order on a busy Saturday morning and it definitely took longer as expected due to the crowd of people dining in. I have a lot of diet restrictions and called beforehand and they were very accommodating with the options and also have an allergy guide on their website. First Watch in Florida is one of my favorite breakfast chains but the location in Naperville sadly disappointed. It took a really long time to have our order taken and a really, really long time for it to arrive. When my eggs Benedict arrived it was cold and the poached eggs were hard boiled. My friend ordered an item that wasn't correct and while the server replaced it they argued with her that she was wrong (she wasn't). While the waitress comped my meal, the replacement didn't arrive until after she tried to bring me a check and no one had told her that it was messed up. No manager came by. Seems like confusion in the kitchen I guess. This is an attractive restaurant In a great location. Hope they get their act together because I'd like to go back for my First Watch favorites. read more

First time at First Watch Naperville. Arrived at the perfect time today and was seated immediately. Ordered the salmon eggs Benedict and a side of biscuits and gravy. Eggs Benedict was delicious and the potatoes cooked perfectly and seasoned so well. Biscuits and gravy good although made with turkey sausage (I prefer pork sausage). Biscuits were really good. My mother had the traditional breakfast with eggs, ham, potatoes and toast. Eggs cooked a bit too long for her but didn't keep her from enjoying her meal. First Watch is very refreshing. Everything about that place is different than any breakfast spot that I've been to. The decor of the restaurant is contemporary. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Cinnamon Toast Crunch coffee drink with nectar and rum in it. The nectar made the drink really sweet. I could do without that. Overall the drink was delicious though. I ordered a salmon omelette with potatoes. I didn't like that the omelette didn't come with pancakes so I ordered blueberry pancakes separately. That's why I only gave 4 stars. If you want to eat off of unwashed dishes this is the place for you! When I got to the table, the coffee cup had pink lipstick on it and when water was poured, it looked as if there was backwash in my cup from the person who used the cup before me. The table was not cleaned either. When we sat down at the table, we ordered drinks immediately. The drinks that we ordered were not brought out at all, and after sitting there for 1.5 hours our food finally came (which we had ordered without drinks. After this, our server tried charging us for the drinks that were never even brought out. Our server was nowhere in sight the entire time we only interacted with her when she took our order and brought out our food. When the food came out the portions were small. We visited First Watch yesterday for the second time. I think the food is phenomenal and the service has been great both times. Biscuits and gravy are a must try--the best I've had in this area! All of their items are fresh and they have unique and original items on their menu. It's a smaller menu than other traditional brunch places, but I always think that's a good sign! Unfortunately one of the French toasts wasn't cooked enough but they made it right and removed the charge from the bill. When we checked in, they said it would take an hour to get seated. Ahh, man. I unfortunately have to update my review. Recently, it was our third visit to First Watch. We are creatures of habit and ordered the chickichunga again. Third time is supposed to be a charm, but not this time. Arrived home to discover that the tortilla was burnt on the top, there was no chicken (in a chickichunga no less), no avocado and no onion. Some of the potatoes were hard, but overly salted in general. I am not sure what happened from my past two visits but I am not so sure I will return to this location. I need consistency when I am spending money. I am sure you do too. Wait staff is friendly though no doors were opened for me on this visit. LOL When I called the hostess and manager offered to make it right if I could come back to have the meals replaced. I was too far away at that point as they would have closed before I was able to return. They gave me a prompt partial credit on the meal. It would have been nice to receive a gift card or certificate like Panera does when they mess up, but nothing. This doesn't leave a good impression with me especially with other breakfast spots nearby. read more
