The place is sunny for a strip mall restaurant. It's small and unassuming. Looks like it's family run. Everyone was accommodating and service was prompt. The food is the reason to go. I apologize for having dig into my food before this picture, but the breakfast was really good. The place looks very no frills diner style. But the service was quick and attentive. They remembered my wife had decaf when I had regular coffee. My corned beef hash skillet was delicious and made fresh. Wow! What a great little diner. Fast and friendly service, only 18 or so tables so coming with a bigger group may be a challenge. Started off with breakfast cocktails because they were advertising it, got a mimosa & Bloody Mary. My husband loved the BM! Said the flavor and spice was great. He ordered a patty melt which came with soup & fries. The soup of the day was chicken tortilla was amazing!! So much flavor and a little kick. He also raved about the patty melt. The bread didn't get soggy & the patty was thick and very juicy. I did a BYO skillet which was a great size! Came with pancakes that were SOO fluffy. Couldn't stop eating them. This place was okay. The side of pancakes were good. Soft and fluffy I got the house burrito with egg whites and was not a fan. Very bland. My husband got the steak skillet. I would recommend getting this without potatoes they were under cooked and very hard. read more

Found this gem by accident. Our first visit here but definitely not our last. We were greeted warmly, our server was friendly and attentive. The homemade soup was an amazingly good vegetable noodle and we got a quart to take home. I had the best Monte Cristo sandwich with nice crisp fries, and my husband's burger was flavorful and stacked high with fresh condiments. Clean and comfortable. Delicious Breakfast Spot! Stopped by Rise and Bite Cafe in Naperville and had a great experience. I ordered the sausage and cheddar scrambler, which came with onion and green pepper--it was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and really hit the spot. Unassuming location in a strip mall. Looks like they've done a remodel but floor and booths look a little old and worn. Friendly and prompt waitresses. Very yummy freshly squeezed orange juice. The staff was so engaging and awesome I was tempted to do 5 stars. But my boyfriends skillet was under seasoned and not too yummy. It's a simple hole in the wall cafe in a strip mall that wasn't very crowded during Sunday brunch time. For what it was, the food hit the spot, the waitress was kind, and the place was clean. I kept going back and forth between 4 and 5 stars. Comparing to other local breakfast places, it's a solid 4, but I feel like that would be like taking stars off a McDonald's for not being gourmet enough. This is our 2nd time here and once again the service was spectacular. Our waitress was very attentive and Friendly also. We sat in a corner booth area which was perfect for us because we have a very active 1 year old plus diaper bag, car seat etc.. it was spacious and perfect for our size family. The food was very very tasty! I will include pictures in my review so you can see for yourselves. My daughter said her pancake and eggs were so fluffy and delicious ^-^ and her bacon the perfect crispness. My chilaquiles were the perfect amount of mild spiciness. I am glad I chose the red sauce over the green because they were Delicious!! They come with a side of rice and beans that tasted very authentic also. The avocado was the perfect ripeness and so creamy! My husband's house potatoes and biscuits and gravy were also great. He really liked the gravy and asked for a side of it because he likes extra gravy on his biscuits. We also ordered the Nutella crepes and they tasted pretty good. They had a hint of cinnamon in the crepe mix so keep that in mind, next time I think we will ask to exclude it now that we know. Still they were very good We will for sure be back again! read more

This is definitely a local family run place. The two waitresses are sisters, the cashier/bus boy is their brother. Assume the parents are cooks. Small and very clean place. Prices reasonable, food delicious. I ordered a monte cristo sandwich. It came with a cup of yummy chicken tortilla soup and fries. My friend had eggs with corned beef hash. We both enjoyed our meals. Portions were substantial. I did bring home half a sandwich and most of the fries for another day. If I'm in the area, I would definitely eat here again. read more

Had a great breakfast with the family! We arrived late morning:early afternoon on a Sunday and were seated right away. The restaurant is fairly small but has plenty of tables and looks like they have the ability to accommodate a larger sized party as needed. I had the veggie omelette that comes with hash browns and toast or pancakes. I swapped the hashbrowns for their breakfast potatoes and chose the pancakes. The omelette was fluffy and had a lot of veggies and the pancakes were slightly thick but still light with a touch of sweetness. The breakfast potatoes had a great flavor! There were a few chunks that were slightly undercooked but good overall. The portion of my meal was quite large with enough for leftovers. I saw the sign on the marquee yesterday & had to try today (ummm, my bad as it's been up for 2 years). The space is bright and sunny and the service is spectacular!! The restaurant was clean and quiet (it did get fairly busy once we left at 10am). Food was really good - very tasty and came out quickly. Our waitress was personable and attentive with water and coffee. Menu photos on Yelp are outdated as prices have had a slight increase - sorry I didn't get a photo to update. I will come here often. I love mom & pop breakfast places. I had a huge no cheese, veggie, and sausage omelette and it was good. It came with perfectly cooked hash browns + pancakes. I'm so picky about pancakes. I defy anybody to make homemade pancakes better than mine. There's were standard, but anything drenched in maple syrup is going to be good. Service was super friendly. We went to this restaurant as a family. The food was good but the restaurant was extremely cold so it was hard to enjoy the food. Our server was nice but one of the other servers, I'm assuming a manager, was rude. When we asked if it is possible to turn up the heat a little since the kids were freezing (there were only a couple of families in the restaurant at the time), her reply was dismissing and saying that she doesn't want to do it as more people may come soon. With so many breakfast places around, not sure if I will go again. read more

We are in town for a few days and came here for breakfast. We made the terrible mistake of sitting at one of the two tables by the curtain-free windows and cooking to medium rare before we found a table that didn't feel like we were sitting in the sun. I think the move may have pissed the staff off a little as our service wasn't fantastic after that. We were promised coffee refills a few times but never received them.
