    House burrito

Rise & Bite Cafe is a quaint, local breakfast spot that offers plenty of breakfast and lunch options for those seeking an alternative to the big chains and long waits that accompany similar but overly hyped up places. This family run operation is friendly and attentive. It's welcoming, and the staff genuinely seems invested in the community here. The menu has all the familiar breakfast and lunch items you could want, but I can't skip getting the house burrito which is filling and good with the included salsa. There's crepes, pancakes, and so much more to enjoy. Rise & Bite is a spot you'll want to come back to on a regular basis for the food and service.

I apologize for having dig into my food before this picture, but the breakfast was really good. The place looks very no frills diner style. But the service was quick and attentive. They remembered my wife had decaf when I had regular coffee. My corned beef hash skillet was delicious and made fresh. I asked if they could do no onions expecting it to be pre-mixed in the hash, and they said they mix every order. The blueberry pancakes were also tasty.

Wow! What a great little diner. Fast and friendly service, only 18 or so tables so coming with a bigger group may be a challenge. Started off with breakfast cocktails because they were advertising it, got a mimosa & Bloody Mary. My husband loved the BM! Said the flavor and spice was great. He ordered a patty melt which came with soup & fries. The soup of the day was chicken tortilla was amazing!! So much flavor and a little kick. He also raved about the patty melt. The bread didn't get soggy & the patty was thick and very juicy. I did a BYO skillet which was a great size! Came with pancakes that were SOO fluffy. Couldn't stop eating them. This is our new favorite spot!!

Unassuming location in a strip mall. Looks like they've done a remodel but floor and booths look a little old and worn. Friendly and prompt waitresses. Very yummy freshly squeezed orange juice. The staff was so engaging and awesome I was tempted to do 5 stars. But my boyfriends skillet was under seasoned and not too yummy. My chilaquiles on the other hand were delicious, as were the pancakes... very fluffy and so balanced. So good experience overall, but definitely depends on what you order.

It's a simple hole in the wall cafe in a strip mall that wasn't very crowded during Sunday brunch time. For what it was, the food hit the spot, the waitress was kind, and the place was clean. I kept going back and forth between 4 and 5 stars. Comparing to other local breakfast places, it's a solid 4, but I feel like that would be like taking stars off a McDonald's for not being gourmet enough. It's a great alternative to the other breakfast places just north of there with insane wait times.

Delicious Breakfast Spot! Stopped by Rise and Bite Cafe in Naperville and had a great experience. I ordered the sausage and cheddar scrambler, which came with onion and green pepper--it was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and really hit the spot. My son got the 2x2x2 with eggs, French toast, and sausage, and he enjoyed every bite. The food was fresh, the portions were generous, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We'll definitely be back!

Had a great breakfast with the family! We arrived late morning:early afternoon on a Sunday and were seated right away. The restaurant is fairly small but has plenty of tables and looks like they have the ability to accommodate a larger sized party as needed. I had the veggie omelette that comes with hash browns and toast or pancakes. I swapped the hashbrowns for their breakfast potatoes and chose the pancakes. The omelette was fluffy and had a lot of veggies and the pancakes were slightly thick but still light with a touch of sweetness. The breakfast potatoes had a great flavor! There were a few chunks that were slightly undercooked but good overall. The portion of my meal was quite large with enough for leftovers. The service was great and everyone was so friendly and efficient. We had a great experience overall and will definitely be back to try more!

I don't even know where begin everything was so good. This place was recommended to me by a co worker. Food and service was a 10 out of 10. I tried to taste it before taking a picture and couldn't stop eating it was so good. Steak cooked to perfection. Definitely my new spot. Place is a hidden gem!

Rise and Cafe has been open for a while and we finally tried it today! Got there at 9am on a Sunday morning and it was quiet with only a few tables occupied. The restaurant was clean and quiet (it did get fairly busy once we left at 10am). Food was really good - very tasty and came out quickly. Our waitress was personable and attentive with water and coffee. Menu photos on Yelp are outdated as prices have had a slight increase - sorry I didn't get a photo to update. We had omelets and waffles and Eggs Benedict. They also serve alcohol now (mimosas, bloody Mary's, etc.) but we just needed some plain ol' Joe. Nice place! We'll return.

this family owned spot at the corner of Ogden & Royal St George (better known as "Lovers Lane" plaza). I saw the sign on the marquee yesterday & had to try today (ummm, my bad as it's been up for 2 years). The space is bright and sunny and the service is spectacular!! We asked what they best know for and ordered the B&G & eggs benedict - wow they were SPECTACULAR!!! The eggs were poached perfectly & hash browns crisp just as the better half likes them. B&G are delicious - biscuits are light and fluffy & gravy is lick the plate good! Can't wait to go back

A hefty serving of Hash Browns

I had no idea this place existed for over a yr. I somehow just heard of it two weeks ago and I am across the street at Fresh Thyme about 4x a week. It's tucked into the corner and not very visible. I will come here often. I love mom & pop breakfast places. I had a huge no cheese, veggie, and sausage omelette and it was good. It came with perfectly cooked hash browns + pancakes. I'm so picky about pancakes. I defy anybody to make homemade pancakes better than mine. There's were standard, but anything drenched in maple syrup is going to be good. Service was super friendly. I have no idea if this is a family run business, but it puts off that vibe. A great weekend spot that I will be a regular at

We contacted the front desk again and explained that we would be leaving around 6:00 PM for New Year's Eve plans and would not return until after 1:00 AM, giving the hotel over six hours to resolve both issues. Maintenance came by and assured us everything would be fine. It was not. We returned around 1:20 AM, went to sleep, and woke up around 8:00 AM to a freezing room reading 52 degrees. The outside temperature that night was about 12 degrees. There was still no heat and no hot water. We contacted the front desk again and immediately checked out. BITTERSWEET SYMPHONY…read more Mesón Sabika is a truly beloved restaurant with whom I have a complicated history. ______________________ ***REVIEW #1,300*** ______________________ As hundredth milestone reviews go, this one is deeply personal -- I was supposed to have my wedding & reception here in March 2020.  That never happened due to things far beyond my control (damn pandemic) and I've been not-so-secretly pining for that moment ever since. I wound up tying the knot with the love of my life at a nearby park but without any of the fanfare, guests, food, liquor, live band, florist, or photographer.  We had already placed a sizeable deposit on a food & bev package, so when Mesón management abruptly raised the prices on us by 20% due to "volatile market pricing", we accepted a buyout in the form of gift certificates. Between dine-in and carryout orders, over the next 18 months we ate here a LOT.....I'll admit it was fun treating family & friends to dinner with reckless abandon.  Each experience was great, from the service and ambiance to the small plates and sangria.  We did get pretty ill following one visit, although I suspect it came from another guest in the vicinity, rather than a bout of food poisoning. The picturesque mansion - built in 1847 - is elegant but cramped inside, so I recommend dining on the gorgeous patio if weather permits.  Prices for tapas are the same regardless of lunch or dinner, although they do have entree specials unique to both meals (and their delicious paella is exclusive to dinnertime). Without going into crazy detail about each cold dish (of which there are 15) or hot tapas (of which there are 23), I'll call out a few highlights: the bacon-wrapped dates ($14), the duck confit ($16), the cold garlic potato salad ($15), goat cheese w/poached pear ($15), cured salmon in dill cream cheese ($14) and grilled skirt steak ($19). Their paella is great and feeds 3-4 people; I recommend the 'campesina' ($25 with chicken & chorizo) unless you're big on seafood, in which case the 'mariscos' ($42 with shrimp, mussels, clams, scallops, and octopus) might be up your alley.  Desserts are splendid, especially the crème brûlée ($12) and the pear tart ($12). The servers are all male (it's a Catalan thing) and very attentive.  Order a pitcher of white or red house sangria and let all your troubles melt away until you're set adrift on memory bliss.  Or until they kick you out. * TL;DR * Just like the 'tarta de chocolate' on their dessert menu, Mesón stirs up feelings in me that are poignantly bittersweet. On one hand, I've been here 10 times and have nothing but praise for the kitchen + atmosphere.  On the other hand, whenever I see the staff prepping the adjacent event space for a wedding, I get wistful and cry a teeny bit inside.  Couldn't the COVID outbreak have waited one more month, until after my nuptials? The restaurant biz is tough with plenty of overhead, but Mesón is still chugging along and serving the same excellent tapas since 1990.  Anyone who's ever dined here can attest it's a gorgeous venue with spectacular food and professional service. I highly recommend Mesón Sabika for lunch or dinner, and if you're considering having a wedding here, do it.  Hopefully you'll have better luck than me.
