I tried this restaurant when it first opened. It bc was not a good experience but we decided to try it again. We got seated right away. The atmosphere was busy, loud, and very cold. Our waiter approached right away to take our drink order. Immediately let us know the kitchen was behind about 30-minutes. We placed our order and got our drinks pretty quickly. So far it's looking up. Or so we thought. 35 minutes in and the waiter approaches again saying it will be 10 more minutes. He did not ask if we needed another drink or clear our empty glasses. Finally our food comes, but only half of each of our orders. My husband got avocado toast with crab and eggs. (No eggs). I got the banana fosters French toast and bacon (no bacon). Waiter comes back to see how we are. We tell him we are both missing food. More excuses. We tried to order another drink but he scurried off too quickly. We finish our food and out comes my bacon. My husband gets another full order but only takes the eggs. We finally order another drink but wait 15 more minutes. I'm literally laughing how bad the service is and lack of working together was ridiculous. Someone comes over now to clear our first dirty dishes that several ignored. And all commented about the table being small. I go to pay and ask how my meal was. I told the young person at the register and he responds with telling me I can swipe my card to pay. Um ok then. Over 2 hours and the food we did get was ok. No comping anything or apology. Only excuses and bad service. I will never go back and sad because the location is good. Over $60 to top it all. I will say i've been here several times and I usually love it. This time was New Year's Day, and it was busy but nothing out of the ordinary for this location. We were told it was a 15-20 minute wait for two people and it ended up being at least 45, which would've been fine if that's what they told us and we had decided to wait anyway, but we would've gone somewhere else had we known. Once we were seated it was another 10+ mins before we got a waiter and once we did, I had to ask three separate times to get water for our table and every other step of the process took forever. We are definitely breakfast people and my wife and I are always looking to find a good place to enjoy the first meal of the day. We found First Watch on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Fortunately, we arrived early enough to be seated as soon as we arrived. The server brought us our drinks and menu which highlighted that they use quality ingredients. I also noticed that they only offer whole grain breads. Looks good so far. We ordered the Million Dollar Bacon to share, my wife ordered the Traditional Breakfast which consists of eggs, sausage, home fries, and toast. I had the Classic Eggs Benedict. The Million Dollar Bacon was good and had a little bit of kick from the cayenne but nothing special. I would have liked to see them use thick cut bacon. My wife said she enjoyed her Traditional Breakfast and particularly liked the sausage. The Classic Eggs Benedict was pretty good but definitely not "classic." The poached eggs were perfect and the sauce was good but instead of Canadian Bacon, they used thinly sliced ham and instead of English muffins they used a half of a toast sub roll. As a result I didn't get that bite of thick Canadian Bacon I normally associate with Eggs Benedict. Don't get me wrong, it was good but far from traditional. Regardless, the service was excellent and the food was good. I definitely tasted the quality. It was ok. I love healthy food and at first glance, it seems this spot is fairly health-conscious. Ah but the sugar is on overload with fancy French Toast and Belgium Waffles. I have been wanting to try this spot ever since I heard of it. Today I got to go there as a treat from a friend. It was amazing!! We shared the million dollar bacon which was amazing !!! A nice bite of kick and so sweet and sticky from the syrup! I had the harvest menu hash with mushrooms and bacon and onions with a creamy and delicious Parmesan sauce and topped with 2 sunny side up eggs. I ate half and brought half home. It was delicious and the lemony arugula on top made it a little lighter and less guilt for me !!! My friend had the traditional egg breakfast with grits. The service was lovely as was the atmosphere! I've been wanting to try First Watch for awhile but I always seem to find myself wanting to try it inconveniently on the weekends when the wait time is crazy! Well, I decided to give it a try on a weekday and was welcomed and seated by the hostess immediately. What a great breakfast, brunch, lunch joint this addition has been to Mount Pleasant Towne Centre. They have so many items on their menu, so there's something for everyone. I got the Frittata Rustica entrée and an item from their seasonal/special menu, Pumpkin Spiced Donut Holes as a starter. Those donut holes are deliciously dangerous, and I would order and eat a few more dozen of them had I not ordered the frittata dish. The frittata was tasty and the egg was cooked to perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast and would happily choose this as my regular breakfast joint if I had to choose. I will certainly be back very soon. For MTP it's solid Good breakfast & lunch choices Good drinks, and I love that they give you a whole craft of water for your table and/ or coffee if you order it, they also have flavored creamers! Two preferred options weren't available - salmon and ham. Asked for to-go cup and ended up having to go to bar to get it ourselves as Michael never returned. First Watch was a great atmosphere, however, the food was not up to par! We had the classic eggs benedict and it was so disappointing! It had a lemon flavor in the hollandaise sauce that gave the dish a horrible taste. Secondly, instead of using canadian bacon they used regular ham cold cuts. Then the most bizarre thing was half the plate had a huge handful of plain arugula on the plate for no reason. Coffee was so strong you almost couldn't drink it. We waited for our food for 25-30 min. I joined the waitlist at First Watch and arrived in the time period. We had a large group of 8 and upon arrival was told they were waiting for the big table to leave. This group was already done and bill paid so we waited and waited..The group finally left and the table sat there for 10 min without being bussed. My husband inquired and then the busser went to the table. After 10 min of the slowest bussing job I've ever witnessed we were seated. The waitress came over and was very sweet and efficient. After a few minutes, some random guy sat at the end of of table with his girlfriend. Not sure if that is a normal thing for South Carolina but we were a tad perturbed. One of the best breakfast places we have been to in Charleston so far!! We loved the healthy options as well as the sinfully delicious ones! From the fresh fruit juice drinks to the last bite of French toast we loved it all!
