Something I've honestly never heard of before
    Janice M.

Definitely a place worth stopping at. I was blown away by the delicious breakfast I had at First Watch. I am a country girl to the t and very proud to be so in the beginning I was a little standoffish by looking at the online menu because it at first look seemed to be more on the fu fu side of things. But I was blown away by the deliciousness of the food I ordered. I had the farmhouse hash and when it was first served there was a small black condiment bowl with what appeared to be a boatload of ketchup which honestly put me on pause because I was confused as to why there was a side serving of ketchup plus a huge bottle of ketchup on the table. Luckily the waiter must've noticed the look on my face because he explained that it was actually strawberry preserves. Let me just say hands down that the strawberry preserves were so delicious they could bottle that alone and easily make a fortune. As a matter of fact I even told the lady who checked us out that they should sell the strawberry preserves at the counter. I would easily gain all my weight back and then some if they did sell it. Let me move along, the atmosphere was very nice accompanied by a professional and friendly waiter which made the entire experience a pleasant experience. I'm definitely going back and I'm looking forward to the visit again

    Chickichanga!!!

Chickichanga is delicious. Service with a smile. Buzzing atmosphere. Extensive menu. Brunch. Covered patio. Tori is our favorite, always sweet. Chia seed pudding is good too. Ill be back.

    Blueberry Lemon Cornbread

First watch is one of my favorite breakfast spots! Their portions are great for the price. Their service is fantastic everytime I go. My most recent stop, I tried Their lemon blueberry cornbread. WOW! It was amazing. Not so sweet. The blueberries did not overpower the cornbread. And the lemon butter was just the right touch to make the dish perfect! Definitely recommend.

Excellent food choices on the menu- many Ive not seen in this area. They delivered friendly service, fresh airy atmosphere, and delicious food bursting with flavor combinations I haven't had before. There was a 30 table minute wait- but hubby and I chose the bar with no wait. No regrets. Well done First Watch in Madison, AL!

    Raspberry Ricotta French Toast

Absolutely delicious! The raspberry French toast is some of the best I've ever had. The ricotta topping is such a unique delightful treat. The carne asada hash is a wonderful savory option. Love the fresh juices and the coffee is always tasty. The restaurant itself is beautiful. We're always received with a friendly greeting making the experience even better. Definitely my favorite breakfast spot.

    BLT Benedict

We came here for brunch at 10am on a Sunday. It was busy, but we didn't have to wait terribly long for a table. We opted to sit outside since it was nice out. Our waitress seemed a little stressed or nervous, but did a good job, I ordered the BLT Benedict, but my poached eggs were not don't very well & wee more runny that a poached egg should be. I got an order of potatoes so I could also keep the greens. Their iced coffees are delicious! We tried the mint mocha and the salted caramel. Both were fantastic. At the end, we got our receipt which had a QR code as a pay option, which I appreciate. Nothing worse than waiting around to pay.

Lightly cooked potatoes. Raw on inside.

The eggs were cooked to medium as requested and the bacon and avocado was delicious. Over all flavor delicious. Potatoes raw, under cooked I ordered and picked up this meal for my wife and two daughters. My wife offered to cook the mash to completion but this is unacceptable. Our food should be cooked before I pick it up. The business is busy but cook the food fully before serving!

    Elote Breakfast Burrito
    Blake M.

Was pleasantly surprised at this place. The prices were really good compared to what I'm used to in California. The interior was nicely decorated and I enjoyed the atmosphere. What I got was the seasonal item, the Elote Burrito. It was presented very well. It was missing a couple ingredients to really push it over the edge but it was an amazing breakfast burrito. One of the best I've had. One of the negatives about this place was the other 8 people I was with all didn't seem to really love their food, and just thought it was good. Overall, it's a good breakfast place and I would come back

Shrimp and grits are back for a limited time! Run don't walk! My favorite! Million dollar bacon was excellent. Sorry no picture because we ate it all up! Great service. Beautiful clean restaurant. Great food! Brela was great! Will be back! 10/10

My top 3 favorite breakfast spots of all time. You have to try Millionaire dollar bacon. It is insane. Also farmhouse skillet is super good!!!! Menu is so good. You really can't miss. Great service. Good American vibe inside. A+.

    Tri-fecta with bacon
    Ken R.

Service was good, smiling, welcoming, just what you like to see. The food was great. My waffle needed to be a bit fluffier for my preference. It was a tad tough to cut. The link sausage was not a great choice. It was a bit fatty tasting. Good, but just not great. Now the bacon was quite good. My wife loved her ham and Gruyère sandwich with tomato basil soup. Overall a four. Good, but room to improve.

Million Dollar Bacon, Baby! Don't skip!

I have never had any issues with the staff because they honestly show you how the southern charm is and you can tell that it comes naturally for them as well. I love the way the restaurant seating area is, very calm, clean, and simple...I know a,lot of people nowadays prefer the whole flashy, more expensive decor and feel, simply because somehow the world has changed into the idea and lifestyle of "enough is NEVER enough"l so if you love the old ways as much as I do then you have to go by Mia's Cafe, I promise you won't regret it. I've built a reputation as an extremely honest reviewer of anything and everything I have ever tried, from products to places and anything else in between. So I make a point to always say this at the end of every review I make to let everyone know that as a reviewer (some call me an influencer but ‍) I give exactly my truth about it and it's impossible to get me to do anything else. So you now know that everything I said above is absolutely my truth. Have a great day/night whichever it is when you are reading this review

Sweet Hubs got another to go order from here a week or so ago. The order was someone else's order…read more Hubs is generally non picky and he enjoyed the meals received. I was surprised he liked hot sauce on his eggs, for example, and he said he did, which is great because one dish came with extra hot sauce. I reheated the grits the following day and they were actually good! That was the highlight of this take out meal for me. I thought the gravy in one of the dishes was sausage gravy, because doesn't everyone in the south add sausage to their gravy? But, it was just plain gravy. Boo! The eggs were pretty dead looking the next day (not their fault, I know), so I didn't try any of them. The bacon was undercooked for my preference but could have been easily remedied by popping in the air fryer. That was more effort than I wanted to expend on salvaging these dishes. Hubs is a biscuit fan and he was happy to devour whatever I did not, and again, he had no complaints which is excellent! I am not a biscuit fan at all, I just can't make myself like biscuit-forward dishes. I'm not even a fan of potatoes, which were in several of the dishes. They appeared to be prepared well, just did not appeal to me.

The service was friendly and helpful; good vibes; food was impeccable! We will definitely come…read moreback. Highly recommend this place.

Early in the week, I made online reservations for Friday at 7pm. I got text confirmation of that…read morereservation. Something came up making Friday a bad choice, so I made another reservation for Saturday and cancelled the on for Friday. Once again I got a text message for both the Friday cancellation and Saturday booking. The automated replies made it convenient. We arrived a few minutes before or reservation and were seated right away. They were quick to respect my request for a nearby booth, as I have a disability walking. We ordered the steak appetizer roles that were outstanding! My wife ordered a Caesar salad that was huge, along with the filet with a baked potato. When I looked at the menu days prior, I was eyeing the shrimp and grits, but after seeing nearby tables entrees, I quickly ordered the ribeye. Our server, Jesstina was off the wall spectacular! Our appetizer came out quick, and our main course came out soon after we were done enjoying our appetizers. She made sure our every need was taken care of, and her attitude was as if we were her long time friends. We were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary of 23 years, and the dining experience was perfect! Spectacular service, an outstanding food selection and a 10 out of 10! This was our first time at this Stoney River, but it won't be the last! And you can rest assured, we'll make sure Jesstina will be our requested server!

Stoney River delivers solid flavor and quality, and the ambiance makes the experience even better…read more The atmosphere is classy, dimly lit, and upscale without feeling overly formal. It is a great spot for a date night or a special evening out. We started with the crab cake. It was definitely good, flavorful, and nicely prepared, but at 18 dollars for a single crab cake, it felt a little steep. The standout of the night was the Wild Mushroom Meatloaf. It was hearty, well seasoned, and something I would absolutely reorder. We paired it with asparagus and Parmesan fries. The asparagus was fresh and succulently seasoned, cooked just right. The Parmesan fries were crispy and flavorful and made a great complement to the meal. I ordered the London Dip, which had good flavor overall, especially paired with the roasted wild mushrooms. That combination worked well together. However, for the price point, I think next time I might try something else on the menu. It was good, just not quite as memorable as the meatloaf. We also tried the smoked gouda mac and cheese, which was rich and tasty and definitely a solid side option. Overall, Stoney River offers good quality dishes with strong flavors in a classy setting that makes it perfect for date night. A few items feel priced on the higher side, but I would return, especially for that meatloaf.
