Damaris was an absolutely fantastic waitress and made the entire experience memorable. From the moment I sat down, she was attentive, friendly, and spot-on with her recommendations. The blonde hostess at the front was polite and professional, though I did get a little side-eye when I chose a table instead of the bar. In fairness, I had just flown in from Texas through Atlanta after a three-hour layover and desperately needed to stretch out at a proper table. A little more warmth would have been appreciated, but she was still courteous and professional throughout. Damaris more than made up for it. The homemade chips and salsa were outstanding, and the margaritas were some of the best I've had. I tried several different varieties and loved every one of them. She recommended the blanco cheese dip, and it was incredible. The fajitas were equally fantastic, perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. What made this visit especially meaningful was that I was traveling on Father's Day and missing my amazing wife and children back home. I was looking for a little comfort, good food, and a welcoming atmosphere after a long day of travel, and La Parrilla delivered on all fronts. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the décor is absolutely stunning. I've eaten at Mexican restaurants all over the country, and I honestly haven't seen another one quite like this. Edible. Standard basic Tex Mex you can get just about anywhere in North Alabama. My tacos were described as "Tinga Tacos" which are "shredded chicken tacos seasoned with adobo chipotle, topped with raw red onions, cilantro, and Mexican sour cream." Sounds delicious. They were not. This restaurant is 7 miles from our house and when Hubs got home my corn taco shells were complete mush. The chicken was off putting in texture as if it was put in a blender or overly food processed. It was reminiscent of Chicken Salad Chick chicken salad and flavorless. The two tacos were overstuffed with chicken meaning they were generous on the amount of chicken, it just wasn't delicious. Hub's had a burrito and never complains about his meals. We wanted frijoles charroes like we love from El Olmeca and got I think, the bean soup, instead of the frijoles. It was very soupy and not delicious. The chips were standard and the thin variety. I tried to scoop some of the chicken onto the chips and, of course, they broke. Maybe dining in at this restaurant is the way to go. With so many authentic options for nice tacos with the pickled carrots, tons of fresh lime that just burst with flavor, I in can't see trying La Parilla again. June 2026: La Parriia had just opened. ( means the GRILL In Spanish ) Excellent food and service a lot of dishes that are not usually found in Huntsville! on the expense side, but they're located in Clift Farms so what would you expect? The crowd was really long, I'd get reservations for 2 unless u with to wait 90 minutes . if you wanna go there after 4 o'clock in the afternoon like any new place in Huntsville or Madison the place is always crowded when it first opens up. Okay ambiance is perfect if you want a hole in the wall. We pulled up and my wife said nooo. The building is plain and parking lot was full of work trucks. We walked in and we surrounded by work crews. The yelp pictures made it appear like they had a 20 page menu. Nope small menu with limited items , but each entree has SEVERAL meat choices. We ordered asada tacos and a Gordita. Lots of steak did not disappoint. We ordered chips and salsa. The salsa was green. A little hot. But excellent. We are new to AL and have been searching for a great Mexican food restaurant. We finally found it! There was a small 30 min wait, but it was Friday night, a great restaurant will always have a wait. The margaritas were delicious, the food had an authentic spice that we have missed so much. And our server Christian was a delight. So the first time we came we were sat and attended to immediately. The food was incredible. Seasoned, well thought out , very flavorful. This time we came it was for dinner and it was quite busy so we knew it was going to be a much longer of a wait, no big deal. It took well over 15 minutes just to get our drinks which were just a tea and a water, and then it took about 45 additional minutes to get our food. Mind you there was just myself and my husband so only 2 of us. There was a 3 top table sat behind us 15 minutes after we arrived and they had received their food much sooner, by at least 20 minutes before we got ours. We ordered a beef power bowl and the grilled chicken torta mexicana sandwhich so nothing complex. By the time our food came out my bun was soggy as could be, the sandwhich looked like it had been in the backseat of a car on a very windy road. Chicken all over the place, toppings every where but the bun. The things I didnt want on the sandwhich were on the sandwhich (again no big deal I can pick them off) but my biggest gripe was there was ABSOLUTELY no flavor to literally any part of our meals, my chicken was so tough and dry I could tell it had been sitting for a while because all juice from the chicken left the chicken and soaked into the soggy bun. The fries which say they are supposed to be seasoned didnt even have salt, the chicken had no seasonings and was pure white to prove that. The Chipotle mayo had nothing, the beans , nothing, I didn't even taste the cilantro. The only part that had any seasoning and flavor was the bowl of ketchup they served with the fries. My husband's which was a beef power bowl was again flavorless. The beef tasted of nothing, the rice was nothing. Im not one to complain to a manger or leave reviews. But I have never been more underwhelmed than I was tonight. Super super disappointed considering we had such an amazing experience the first time we ate here. It was like a completely different restaurant and its put such a bad taste in my mouth that I dont want to ever return which is such a shame because I absolutely raved to everyone about this place the first time read more

It took a while just to get our drinks and place our order, and then the food itself took a lot longer to come out than it should have. What made it frustrating was seeing plenty of staff members working, but a lot of them just seemed to be standing around in the back. Because this area has so many other Mexican restaurants that offer both great quality food and much faster service, it leaves a lot to be preferred. Cons: Very slow service. I love the decor and the openness of the restaurant. It is very inviting and modern. I got the Texas Fajita which was pretty good. The quality of meat was great. All three meats were well cooked. I feel like they were light on the seasoning, but it could just be my taste buds. The espresso martini was also delicious and made with tequila for a little twist. The service was okay. We got some for dinner last night and it was just as amazing as I remember! The new location is absolutely STUNNING. It felt like we were at Hotel Xcaret México! The manager, Juan Ramirez, was fantastic and even gave us a full tour of the restaurant. Everything was wonderful! Visited on June 2 around noon for lunch. Excellent service large menu but only ordered off the lunch menu. Meals run from $10 to $15 for most items. Food was brought out hot. At some Mexican places the plates are hot but food Luke warm. Not the case here. Between us we had burritos and enchiladas beans and rice and a salad. Everything was ok but burritos were pretty salty. Chips and salsa came with the meal and salsa is mild not much off a kick. They brought out a spicer one but not much difference. Overall nothing super special but may go back and try something off dinner menu. read more
