A wonderful place to enjoy a laid back lunch with a bit of flair. The grilled chicken salad was light yet packed with flavor, and the homemade vinaigrette added just the right touch. The café's bright and airy atmosphere made it the perfect spot for a midday break. After a relaxing walk through the nearby park, this was the ideal place to enjoy a healthy and refreshing meal.

    Quesabirria, consome, and Mexican coke.

The food has been great everytime I've been here. This is my 3rd time getting tacos and was very pleased with the quesabirria. $3.50 per taco and $2.00 for consome. You order at the window and service to your table if eating in.

I've only had the birria pizza here but it's great and it's a good price too. The menu isn't huge but what they do have is made well

Definitely not for comfort - there are a couple of rickety picnic tables in the parking lot right next to the busy traffic on 72 - it's loud and hard to carry on a conversation. But the food, oh the food, makes it all worthwhile. There is a pretty limited menu - tacos, burritos, quesadillas and torta. There is a list of fillings including barbacoa, chorizo, carnitas, shredded chicken and for the adventurous, langua (tongue). Every time I've visited, one or more of the meats have been unavailable but no worries, everything is as good as the next (well, I won't vouch for the tongue. Ick.) The torta is on a large, soft and super fresh roll. It includes a special sauce, mayo, lettuce, pickled onions, jalapeños and tomatoes. I'd recommend skipping the mayo - it just overpowers the goodness of the rest of the fillings. The tacos are small - street tacos so you'll probably need more than one to satisfy your hunger. You have your choice of flour or corn tortillas. The tacos come with onions and cilantro. Nothing to hide the wonderfully seasoned meat. The quesadilla was huge - a flour tortilla folded in half and FILLED with meat, cheese and their house sauce. Speaking of sauce, everything comes with a little cup of sauce - be glad that the cup is little - it is HOT. I've had both the barbacoa and the carnitas in various forms. Everything I have gotten has been amazing. The husband and I usually each get a taco and then a torta or quesadilla to share. This is more than enough to fill us up. We drove by this little trailer for years - I never really noticed it and I certainly didn't crave gas station food. Valentina's is pure delight that just happens to be next to a gas station.

Their pastor and lengua are phenomenal (asada is hit or miss) and the flour tortillas are soooo chewy and delicious. Their cheese sauce and salsa are mid. And the only reason why I took off a star is because their hours can be super unpredictable. Make sure to give them a call OR check their instagram page BEFORE driving over! Even though their hours said they'd be open, they're not always open... Eating tacos at Valentina's is one of the reasons why I look forward to coming to HSV. So make sure to give them a call before eating some of the best tacos ever~

The truck is parked seemingly permanently off to the side of a Mobil gas station, just a little bit further into Madison past the Trash Pandas Stadium. They offer the option to order online. The menu is fairly large and they do have specials from time to time. The young woman who took my order was polite and personable and I observed her fluently switch from English to Spanish and vice versa depending on customer need. They were doing a pretty solid business. A small vibrating device was passed out to each customer, which would vibrate and ring when the food was ready. I'm pretty sure this is the only truck in the area that offers tlayudas, which is a dish created and primarily prepared in Oaxaca. Here, it's a very large, charred tortilla covered in toppings including beans, veggies, and a protein of choice. I ordered one with chicken so I could try it; I got a burrito with al pastor for my husband. They were serving champurrado as well, and I couldn't resist a cup of that. My food and drink all came out at once and I carted it home to eat. The champurrado was too hot to drink for a while anyway, and the food held up pretty well. When I did get around to drinking, it was thick, not too sweet, and creamy. I think other places I've tried it are actually calling hot chocolate with cinnamon champurrado, but I think this was the real deal, with a heavy masa harina base. I enjoyed it. Husband's burrito was large and quite tasty. The rice inside was cooked nicely. My tlayuda was also pretty good, and huge - lots to eat. The sear on the tortilla added an interesting flavor, with the tortilla itself being alternately crispy and chewy, and the fresh charred jalapeño on top added good heat and flavor. The veggie toppings, especially the beans, were fresh and tasty. Unfortunately, I really didn't like the chicken; it was chopped in small bits and really didn't have much flavor or seasoning. The rubbery texture made it worse. I would order a tlayuda again, but would definitely change up the protein. Husband's al pastor was a better choice. Overall, it's definitely worth it to try this truck to sample some harder-to-find fare in the area.

The tacos are small with 2 corn tortillas each, topped with onion and cilantro. Come was a red sauce, lime wedges, a pepper and a couple of cucumber slices on the side. The beans are puréed, very smooth, and topped with cheese. The tamales come with a green sauce. They are pretty spicy, there are chunks of jalapeños in them.
