But the food, oh the food, makes it all worthwhile. There is a pretty limited menu - tacos, burritos, quesadillas and torta. There is a list of fillings including barbacoa, chorizo, carnitas, shredded chicken and for the adventurous, langua (tongue). Every time I've visited, one or more of the meats have been unavailable but no worries, everything is as good as the next (well, I won't vouch for the tongue. Ick.) The torta is on a large, soft and super fresh roll. It includes a special sauce, mayo, lettuce, pickled onions, jalapeños and tomatoes. I'd recommend skipping the mayo - it just overpowers the goodness of the rest of the fillings. The tacos are small - street tacos so you'll probably need more than one to satisfy your hunger. You have your choice of flour or corn tortillas. The tacos come with onions and cilantro. Nothing to hide the wonderfully seasoned meat. The quesadilla was huge - a flour tortilla folded in half and FILLED with meat, cheese and their house sauce. Speaking of sauce, everything comes with a little cup of sauce - be glad that the cup is little - it is HOT. I've had both the barbacoa and the carnitas in various forms. Everything I have gotten has been amazing. The husband and I usually each get a taco and then a torta or quesadilla to share. This is more than enough to fill us up. We drove by this little trailer for years - I never really noticed it and I certainly didn't crave gas station food. Valentina's is pure delight that just happens to be next to a gas station.

Everything is made fresh and served quickly. We enjoy ending the week (Thursday, Friday or on both days) at Taco Mama's.
