I've been to the other Lexington locations tons of times but this was my first visit to this particular location. It was basically the same experience I get every time I visit a First Watch. I'm always satisfied and I feel that you get a lot of food for the money you spend. I also love that they incorporate healthy ingredients into so many of their dishes. It's easy to find lots of dishes that include spinach, avocado, turkey, etc. I had the chickichanga which is a lightly friend burrito filled with chicken, chorizo, cheese, onions, green chilis and avocado. It's really delicious. I would recommend pretty much all of the items I have ordered at First Watch. read more

Went on a Sunday around 10:30am, and didn't have to wait at all. The place was fairly busy, so maybe we just got lucky. Our food was excellent, and the restaurant is very nice for breakfast. Had the Swissroom omelette, and my wife had the fruit crepes. Pouring your own water out of an old glass milk jug is a nice touch. Lots of food, service was good, and the prices weren't bad. Stopped by here on our way through town on a road trip and got two wonderful veggie omelets. The veggies were great and the goat cheese was really good too. It came with salad and bread. The bread was great - lots of grains. Best part is they didn't give us our food in styrofoam containers, but rather BPI Certified Compostable containers! I'm SO impressed with their to-go containers and the fact that they are ahead of the times and using environmentally friendly containers. GREAT PLACE TO STOP! read more

FirstWatch is an under-rated restaurant in Lexington, probably because we don't expect anything fabulous from a chain business. If there was ever a reason to rethink those expectations, FirstWatch is definitely it. I have eaten at the War Admiral Way location many times, and I have never had an even slightly disappointing experience. The food is always fresh, and there are very many healthy choices on their menu. They have a way of elevating even the simplest dishes - avocado toast - to a level of tastiness that I fully appreciate. They have seasonal menu options, and will happily accommodate special requests. I always ask for my bacon to be cooked extra crispy, and you know what I get? Crispy bacon that isn't burned! I know, right? Don't even get me started on eggs cooked over medium, which seems to be an unattainable goal for many breakfast places in town. The only thing that keeps me from giving FirstWatch a 5-star review is that I am always surprised, and slightly disappointed, that the portions aren't larger. I'm sure they are perfectly adequate portions, but this is delicious food and I would love more of it! I have never had to wait for a table here, even on weekends, and the service staff is always pleasant and accommodating. Ran over here for lunch with a coworker one day. The place was empty but it was only about 40 minutes before closing. I ordered the barbacoa benedict. The presentation was nice, flavors were great, but the serving size was disappointing based on the price. Service is not great, food is pretty good. I ordered the avocado toast and it arrived with about half of the toast covered in avocado. I informed the server about this and she stormed off to the kitchen to complain to the cook. "This guy wants more avocado, but I thought it looked okay." "Oh yeah, people complain all the time, I'm used to it". If I was not starving, I would have left right then and there. Really not professional or necessary- just do it right the first time. I had high hopes. I had the chickiechanga. Boring and underwhelming. Not much in the way of seasoning. The potatoes were on the edge of undercooked and the onions were mostly raw and totally unseasoned. The only bright spot was the service. Server was pleasant and the food came out quick. This is the BEST experience I've ever had at any restaurant. The food was INCREDIBLE (and that's the understatement of the century). My husband and I will be returning here every time we travel to Lexington. And I don't even like breakfast food. First Watch has completely changed my mind. Everything is so fresh, not over salted either which most breakfast places do. It was truly a great experience. There was a 10-15 min wait and I checked in online and we waited about 10 minutes. Our service was quick and friendly. I got the "Farmhouse hash bowl" and a "Kale Tonic" and my husband got the "Traditional Breakfast". They both come with 10 star strawberry preserves. The coffee is incredible and I traditionally am a Red Bull drinker but the coffee was AMAZING. 100% do yourself a favor and go to First Watch!!! read more

I've waited to post a review on this restaurant until I had eaten there several times to be fair. It's a 50/50 deal. I liked the people. The hosts/hostesses were very nice however, the food was a little disappointing. Very expensive for the amount of food and quality. I was really expecting more from this restaurant. It was clean and we were seated pretty quickly except for once. Not sure what the hold up was, there were only 2 other tables taken. I ordered the Eggs Benedict each time I visited. I'd have to give it a 3 out of 10. The hollandaise sauce was bland. It tasted like it was out of a box. I asked for over-medium eggs but the eggs weren't done. The whites weren't even cooked. I couldn't eat the Benedict. They charged extra for everything. Our bill was extremely expensive for breakfast... especially one that wasn't edible. Sorry but I had to be honest. This is the place to go for a health breakfast when you do not feel like cooking. It is always busy but rarely have I had to wait. I usually get the healthy turkey and a side of millionaire bacon but this time instead of the healthy turkey I decided to try the Ham and Gruyere Omelet. It was good but I prefer the Healthy turkey. I did forget to ask for egg whites, which they do not charge extra for so maybe that is the reason it tasted a little different than I expected. My wife got one of the benedict dishes, I forgot which one, and she absolutely loved it. I am not a fan of Hollandaise sauce so that is lost on me. We come here all the time so we will definitely be back. The layout is good and they have a community table which seats random people together. I do like that that is one of the options but they ask if you would like to sit there. They do not just put you there because all of the other tables are full. read more

Well let me just say this visit was not planned. We stopped in a few weeks ago on a Sunday right before looking for homes to move to. We stopped in right after church which was our mistake. The wait was 23 minutes and was told 15-30. No issues there. The hostess was very nice and attentive. We got seated at a nice high top. We started to have an issue. No server for 11 minutes after being seated. That was frustrating. No one checked on us even though a waiter was serving a table right next to us in a different section. We got our order in and the server once she arrived was wonderful and friendly. This being our first time there we knew nothing of the menu or food we were about to get. I ordered the special of I think California Benedict. My gorgeous wife had an omelet. Now we waited 39 minutes from the time of the order to the food arriving at the table. I would have probably been ok accept my eggs B was served with a salad that had dressing all of the plate. I am not sure if you know what happens when you take a vinegrette and match it with the Benedict sauce. The taste honestly not pleasant. On their own, two separate dishes, they were delicious. I would have loved it if served on different plates. Now reading this you are probably like why is it five stars. Well lets just say I do not have a poker face. The Manager who was working his ass off stopped what he was doing to see what we needed and what he could do to help. I honestly was not very pleasant to him and I apologize for that. He handled it AWESOME. He was a true professional, explained everything and understood my side. I was shocked. I have been reviewing places for years and this was the first time EVER that a manager took care of me ON THE SPOT with out me having to say a word. With everything that happened, I will go back to this location. Even after all of this issues with the meal I actually walked away happy I spent 1 hr and 26 minutes in a location for breakfast. This is a newer location in Lexington that strives to bring you a great morning experience that is known across the board for First Watch. This regional breakfast joint doesn't disappoint. Let me give you three reasons why. 1. Generally, it's not going to be packed unless you got a holiday jamboree going on. The hours are limited, I think 7am to 2:30pm, so you've got the prime brunch time to delight. On my visit, the crowd was sparse in the AM. I got to sit outside and take in the sounds (unfortunately it's kind of loud near Winchester Rd.). 2. Consistency. I've been to a few different First Watch locations and this locale meets and somewhat exceeds the expectation. I've never been wowed by a breakfast place, but this time I was fairly comfortable. I knew the food would be on point! 3. The laid-back crew. Breakfast can be a very sterile experience. I mean come on... those eggs and meats have to be cooked right. That doesn't, however, have to spill into service. These folks were warm, inviting, and accommodating. I've always considered that a delicacy in itself. Will your socks be knocked off at First Watch? I don't know. Hopefully you're still in your pajamas when you go, so you can partake in a true breakfast experience. Maybe you won't even be wearing socks. You'll be that comfortable. read more

Not our first time.... And won't be our last!!! Had the "tri-fecta"...I'm hooked on their pancakes!! Hot, fluffy and HUGE!! I always have to cut it in half and fold it over the other side. Found this place online when we are traveling through town and really enjoyed our meal! Service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. I got the pumpkin pancake with chicken apple sausage and eggs - The pancake was super fluffy! My boyfriend got the market hash which he really enjoyed. Food came out pretty quick as well. We also shared one of the juices called sunrise and shine with watermelon and beets which was delicious. Overall the food was very good but a little more expensive than we were expecting. Our only other real complaint was that the coffee tasted a little burnt and they only had creamers in little packets instead of a pitchers of fresh half-and-half at the table. I'm not a big fan of those flavored or room temp creamers. read more

This morning we stumbled on this place wanting to grab a quick bite on the way home from some sales in Lexington. The Wendy's across the road doesn't serve breakfast and we refuse to eat McDonald's. We decided to give this a go and are so happy we did. There was no wait at all. (Friday at 9:30am) I might avoid a visit on the weekends but we have the luxury of dining out during the week. The food would have been worth a wait. We were seated and immediately offered coffee and water. I think $2.39 for a cup of coffee is a lot but I know it isn't out of line. I just remember when bottomless coffee was well under a buck. The coffee was good, however, and I was happy to see unbleached cane sugar on the tables. Next time I will probably try one of their featured juices since they are large and only $3.99 - a lot better than most juice bars. They leave a carafe of coffee and water at the table which is very nice. My husband is normally underwhelmed by restaurants and he was 110% happy. He had an omelet with bacon and avocado along with potatoes and an english muffin. He is still raving about the preserves that came with the muffin and was very impressed with the execution of the omelet. I had the Trifecta - 2 eggs any style, choice of meat, and either a whole grain pancake or a belgian waffle. I chose a bacon cheddar pancake and it was terrific. The syrup wasn't overly sweet at all which made this even better for me. I love over easy eggs and dread ordering them because they are rarely done well but these were perfect! Initially my side of bacon wasn't with my order but before I could even ask they delivered it on a separate plate. Overall we were thrilled and will visit here again for sure. We spent approx. $30 including tip. We could have spent between $15 and $20 at McDonald's for processed crap. If you have the time, I can't imagine why you'd go anywhere else. We want to try nearly everything on the menu. I wish I had pictures but we were starving and everything looked so good we just dove in. read more
