What a sensational find! Dudley's was recommended, but didn't open until 0800 ( it was 0715!). In Lexington KY for a tandem bike tour with Adventures in Tandem, looking for coffee and breakfast. There was a lovely ( and quite colorful ) woman who said a cheery "good morning!" To us as we walked across the street to Dudley's . We then walked back over, discovered she'd been cleaning up the outdoor seating for 3rd street stuff! What an amazing and super cool place! The artwork on the walls is colorful and expressive! The egg and cheese in everything bagels were divine, and the Secretariat latte ( what else would I order in Lexington???) was delicious - a combo of coffee, cinnamon, maple syrup, and a splash of vanilla The staff was lovely, the place very comfortable and colorful, food and coffee excellent!!! Giving this place 5 stars because of how amazing the veggie bagel is. I seriously had this maybe two times a week for my last two months of my freshman year. I personally like garlic cream cheese and I add avocado and cucumber for a small extra fee and it's so worth it. I've introduced a good amount of people to this place, I love how unique and homey it feels in a way. Although, I will say I am not a fan of their coffee I've tried around 5 different coffees from here and some are better than others. They do offer other drink options so no big deal to me! I've only ever had one guy be slightly rude to me while ordering but that's not stopping me from the bagel lol. read more

I feel bad giving such a low review but honesty is key. The place itself is great, love the vibes and the people are super friendly....unfortunately the coffee does not match the establishment. My latte looked just like watered down milk, and tasted just the same. If you look at other peoples reviews on here that post photos almost all of their drinks look like this. Perhaps they do certain drinks well but if you can't get down a latte that's not a good sign. I don't recommend it. read more

the staff was incredibly rude to my girlfriend. she waited FOURTY minutes for a bagel and when she finally went up to politely ask about it they yelled her name and slammed the bagel onto the table. It was extremely embarrassing for her. i will never support this place ever again. read more

Our VRBO was super close to this coffee shop and we picked it because they offered food (beyond pastries). Loved our bagels with turkey or ham and cheese. Really good! Service was friendly and fun. They dealt with our out of town longer decision making and questions. The space is compact. There's actually quite a bit of seating, but it's a popular place for gathering. We were lucky to get a table. As busy as it is with people and decor it is also cozy and you aren't on top of people. During warm weather they have a great patio space too. We enjoyed their shopping area and picked up a few buttons for book bags as well as notebooks. This space is all about inclusion and social justice. One of my very favorite spots when I was a student at Transylvania University, and I was thrilled it was still open and hopping when I was back in town this spring. I have such fond memories walking there from campus and soaking in their colorful, eclectic vibe. This time I ordered an iced chai latte with oat milk and sat outside to read. Lots of seating options in and outside, and there's a small parking lot and nearby street parking. Fun spot for a coffee meeting/date, studying, or for some quirky gift shopping. read more

The atmosphere is really cool! I love the vibes!!! The first time I went, there was a line out the door so I figured it must be popular for a reason. I got a frappe because I know they tend to be on the sweeter side. It just didn't taste good. The apricot scone I got was super dry and flavorless despite having apricot chunks in it. Maybe it was a bad day? I went a second time and got a different frappe. It was better, but still kinda meh. Maybe the third time is the charm? It's been years since I've been here so my friends and I met up for coffee . It really hasn't changed since I was there a couple of years ago. The people working there are as friendly as I remembered. It's still quirky and interesting as well. The coffee was pretty good . I had the caramel pecan turtle iced coffee . I've been going to here since I was eight years old. It's honestly gone down hill since then, not because of the food or the coffee. Coffee is kind of mediocre at this point and so has the food. But my issue is some if not most of employees seem very uppity and are very rude, to the homeless and customers that " don't seem to be on the same playing field as them". Very cute and happy place with a colorful gift shop, tables to study and comfy sofas to seat. Great to hang out with friends; probably not the best place to study. It is a bit loud. Latte was good and extra hot, the grilled Brie and veggies was tasty, with lots of yummy olives and lemon pepper, very little Brie. The bread stuck to the aluminum paper (they need to use waxed paper) and came apart pretty quickly. Some bread was lost as it could not be separated from the aluminum paper, and I use a for to eat it. I will return for the coffee and ambiance. read more

My partner grew up in the neighborhood, so this place has always been a funky staple! He is a big fan of the Fred Espresso, while I like to try their many different interesting options! There is lots of inside seating, and picnic tables for enjoying nice weather. You order at the counter and while they make your order, you can peruse the gifts and eclectic items for purchase! I cannot say enough good stuff about this place. It is so cool, so eclectic, shouts out such a good message, EVERYWHERE. I could spend hours and hours inside of this shop looking at everything. The art is is cool, they sell a bunch of cool stuff, there is crap (in the coolest sense) all over the place. It is absolute sensory overload, but in the best way ever. Plus the drinks are amazing. The service is great. The staff was friendly. They are enforcing Covid regulations to the absolute fullest extent. You gotta check this place out. You just simple have to. This quirky cool coffee and baked goods shop visit was worth the early morning, half mile walk! The space is colorful, open and loaded with interesting art and positive energy crafts for sale. The coffee was excellent! My companion and I shared a thick slice of really moist, chocolate chip bread. Delicious! Third Street Stuff is my favorite place in Lexington. I lived here years ago and went here at least 3x or more a week. My job resulted in many one-on-one meetings, and locals always wanted to go here - and soon I did too. I loved the baked goods, coffee, tea, and lunch options. Employees are warm and caring - once when I was ill, they were like "do you want honey in your tea?" I was confused. They explained that honey helps sore throats, teaching my much younger self a valuable lesson! And I got lots of honey, and they helped me feel better - partly the honey, but mostly because someone in a new city was so kind and caring. I visited again recently during a road trip, and little has changed. The interior is still groovy as hell and the coffee & cookies are amazing. I bought two cookies for the road home and they were so good they did not last as long as I meant them to last - haha. I love Third Street Stuff, its drinks, food, and art. I would live in Lexington again just for the chance to go here every day! read more

Great coffee shop due to the unique atmosphere and food! I wouldn't bring a politically conservative friend here as there's lots of liberal stuff on the walls. I like it though, lots of pics and words. They also have dif types of bagels and unique types of cream cheese that are very good. From the looks of things, their menu changes often, so anything pictured in a review on a blackboard may not currently be offered. Some of the themes for featured drinks might do well with being a little more well thought out... "celebrate native americans," and "black lives matter" with influential individuals of each as drink names seems a little... exploitative? Disparaging? Probably unintended, and it certainly doesn't hinder their ability to make good coffee. read more

Love this place! Met a new friend for a coffee date and everything was fabulous. Cute, quirky art, friendly and welcoming staff, and excellent beverages. My chai tea latte was yummy and up quickly. The only delay was wading thru the 75 milk choices they generously offer to customers. A slight exaggeration but it makes the point about how focused they are on service and community. So I want to give Third Street Stuff a thousand stars for all the activism and community support they have offered over the years. Pat and her team are AMAZING! As for the coffee, it's a bit too roasted for my taste and the lattes are too hot. This is just my preference. I prefer a mild roast and a low temp latte so I can drink it. This place was one of the first places I saw that offered simple syrup for ice drinks. My favorite thing to do is to go in to 3rd street late at night and get a dessert from the case. Delicious. There use to be more of a gift shop/boutique in the store. They still have unique stuff for sale but not as much as before. There is still a wall of posters with local events. The knitters still come to "stitch-n-bitch". The Sayre kids still make there way after school. The locals gather for breakfast and coffee. This place is part a our community. read more
