Such a wonderful coffee shop! I love that the menu has so many options of coffee, tea, refreshers and local baked goods. The space is very open with many areas to sit and work or to relax with your beverage of choice. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. The staff is really friendly and seemed to enjoy interacting with the customers. I had a Butterfly Refresher (yummy) and a couple of baked goods. I love that they serve items different local bakeries. If you're looking for a remote work spot or a place to meet a friend or you just want to stop in for an afternoon pick me up, I think you'll be pleased. This location gets 5 stars across the board from me.

Nice surprise! I came to the fresh market next door and noticed this little coffee shop. Since I was in need of caffeine, I decided to drop in. It's a small, cozy spot with really nice baristas who were super helpful and full of energy probably from all the coffee! I ordered the seasonal maple brown sugar hot latte, and it was excellent . I only wish I were in the area longer so I could try more of their drinks. If you're in the area come in and perk yourself up.

Strong cold brew and a great vibe. Tried the pimiento cheese scone and it was tasty. Friendly baristas. I'll be back for sure.

Char on Ashland is a must-visit in Lexington! We tried five items and here's the honest breakdown:…read more The Cinnamon Bun is a 10/10 -- hands down the star of the visit. It's enormous (easily shareable between 6+ people) and absolutely delicious. The Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich was a close second at 9/10, a great classic executed really well. The Banana Bread Latte was an 8/10 -- very good but ask for it less sweet. The Iced Cinnamon Bun Latte and Eggs in Heaven both landed at 6/10. The latte sounds incredible on paper but the cinnamon bun flavor didn't quite come through, and while the Eggs in Heaven dish itself is a good concept, my eggs were unfortunately not cooked to my liking. We really enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying our breakfast! Service was good, a little slow but they were very friendly! Overall a great spot with a lot of potential -- the pastry alone is worth the trip. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Our res was for an inside two-top we didn't want and they had no issue moving us outside. That was a nice touch as it was a busy night. The staff and our server were all smiles and accommodating, absolutely no complaints. We started with cocktails that were well made and tasty. Had a nice wine with dinner. I order a Signature Dish, the Duck Meatloaf, and Chicken Puttanesca for her. I'll make a different entree selection next time, though. Some spice in there was overdone... fennel? And the texture was off-putting. I like duck and meatloaf, but the mashup didn't work for me. She enjoyed her meal very much. Char is a nice place and we'll go back for sure.

We shared a slice of Martine's Pastry double chocolate cake and wow, it was divine, so rich, fudgy, and absolutely worth the indulgence. The variety of coffee choices was seriously next level! We shared a cup of their decaf espresso and it was smooth, bold, and perfectly balanced. Definitely a spot we'll be revisiting. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and explained how their process worked. Very neat spot.

In addition to coffee, there was an incredible array of teas available as well both for drinking and purchase. The interior space was incredible, large and expansive while maintaining cozy and inviting vibes. Seating options were plentiful, great for studying, hanging out with friends, or even just quickly sitting down to enjoy a cup and snack. The shop area was also quite nice with so many coffee and tea options from all over available fresh as well as various trinkets and jsut fun goodies available for purchase, all at quite honestly some fair prices. Was great for perusing through while sipping on a fantastic cup. The staff were all incredibly friendly, but one area that needed some improvement was just how slow everything was. Not sure where the choke was but the line just refused to move despite not even being that long, and it kept doing this. This was not only at the coffee counter too, even at the store counter at first there was just nobody behind it for quite some time as a line formed and we all just looked around for a worker. And then finally one meandered on up, and while e they were kind and friendly, the service was just oh so slow which was quite frustrating. Besides the slow service though I will say it is a fantastic little spot. Unassuming on the outside but once you walk through the doors such an incredible space full of coffee, tea, and so much fun. Would def recommend (just not if in a rush) and will likely return!

It's not exactly in Lexington... it's more on the outskirts(in my opinion) but it hits extremely hard. They have many things on their menu but I wanted something simple. Breakfast sandwich. I added cheese and ordered an avocado for it too. I should've ordered an extra biscuit. It was light, filling, and equalized me in the most perfect way. My wife ordered the grain bowl and it was so much bigger than we thought it'd be. Plenty for leftovers. If I had any complaints, it'd be that it is a smaller place. Let me rephrase... not so much small but it is busy and cramped. They could easily expand to another location or larger location. We will definitely visit this place again. All the food was perfect!

The breakfast burrito was a great burrito and would recommend to anyone who wants a burrito. Not basic but a higher level breakfast burrito. The dip that accompanied the burrito was also very tasty.Their version of a hash brown was pleasantly very crisp with a mild cheese flavor. The omelette was uncooked. It was a Japanese style omelette that was soft and runny in the middle. Not very appetizing if you were not expecting it. It was accompanied by half a big bag of balsamic salad greens . I'm not sure who actually enjoys this pairing. The hot honey chicken biscuit was nothing to talk about. It was also paired with the other half of the big bag of balsamic salad greens. Would not order again. It's a standard cafe with nothing that made it stand out to us. The prices seemed high for what we got. Places are hit or miss and unfortunately this place was a miss for us.
