Another stop on my Lexington local coffee shop crawl that unfortunately was not a great experience. The space is really lovely, a lot of natural light coming in and ample room to sit and chat. But we are here for the coffee and that is where things get disappointing. I ordered a decaf vanilla latte and it was made so fast, like lightening fast which was my first sign things may go awry....normally a drink takes at least a few minutes to perfect, especially a decaf shot. I received my drink and immediately knew from the color things were not right bc it looked pretty much like milk. Little to no color, plus there were so many loose coffee ground in the bottom of the drink. I tried it and yeah, extremely watered down and just not tasty at all. It was sadly a throw away. Now mind you I always try and give a place another try bc every barista is different, but for now I wouldn't recommend this establishment. read more

Was brought here by some friends while visiting Lexington and enjoyed the simple menu selections, good syrup choices, and solid espresso. The interior is very open and spacious while being quiet, so a great place to read or get some work done. The smoked bourbon sugar syrup was pretty sweet and I couldn't really pick up on any smoke or bourbon flavor. There was a little too much milk for my liking but I couldn't tell the espresso was good. Also, it's dog friendly even indoors. The barista were friendly and made our drinks in a timely manner. We got the cold brew old fashioned and spring matcha. The spring matcha was very refreshing. I guess this location isn't on Yelp yet! It's pretty new as it opened just recently, within the past few months. Parking is easy! It shares the same lot as a few other businesses. DV8 is right next door as well! It's large and open! So many large plants and fabulous decor like the other location. They roast the beans here too! 2 gender neutral bathrooms here as well. I ordered matcha. Fantastic! My friends got a fall latte and the king crimson tea. We sat here a while and it never got that busy. Maybe people don't know it's here? Anyway, I'm not mad at it. We got to sit on vintage looking couches and chairs. My friend comes to this location all the time since it's much closer to her. I like it a lot too and would love to return! read more

I frequent this place a lot and over the past year the cups have gotten much smaller and the prices have gone up. A plain hot tea today cost $5.50 and a plain drip coffee was $3. I really love the atmosphere here. It is such a cute coffee shop to hang out in. The big window facing downtown gives you great views of the city while you sip your coffee. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the prices are higher than other places in town. I tried the regular brewed coffee (around $3 for a small cup). Duuuuddeee, this coffee is off the damn chain. Their baristas are sooo well-educated on the coffee and the latest brewing techniques. Additionally, they have state-of-the-art machines, equipment, and coffee beans to boot. I'm a classic cappuccino or dirty chai gal, so I haven't had the unique flavours, but my friends love the lavender. Lastly, the "vibe is mad chill" in there. Wow I am blown away by this new shop. Environment is absolutely top notch, perfectly decorated, clean and modern. But the coffee...wow. I had a "1 and 1" which is a double shot of espresso split to a shot and a macchiato. GENIUS. I want this everywhere. They were pulling Magic Beans espresso blend which is a bit darker than I prefer but in the hands of their barista he took an adequate bean and made it exceptional. Because I'm a complete fiend, I also had a pour over of Red Rooster washed process Ethiopian. They use Kalitas for their pour overs which impart more chocolate, tannins, leather, etc. I'd like the option to taste in a different method but still it was exceptionally good. To top it off they have parking right across the street so access is painless. Massively recommend this shop. Guaranteed it will quickly become a, maybe THE, definitive Lexington coffee shop. read more

I graduated from UK and spent many study sessions at a local favorite coffee shop that reminds me of the set of Friends (not at all a bad thing, but you know, it REALLY worked in the 90's). Since moving away and refining my coffee pallet beyond flavored beans and super sweet lattes, I was hoping that Lexington's coffee offerings had also matured. I have been back to Lexington a few times since graduating and have yet to find the coffee shop that rivaled other cities' coffee scenes. Where should I even begin? Let us start with the ginormous christmas teddy bear situation out front- by far the best part of my experience here on this day. Right before walking in the door (that doesnt even shut properly) I was struck by the lack of comfortable seating, visible through the large winders. Also, what kind of a coffee joint has limited access to electrical outlets??- I may even go as far as to say this establishment is anti-student and anti-academia. After plopping myself on an uncomfortable barstool, I decided to go grab a caffeinated bevie and was met by a walking frown in a beanie. Someone must've had a bad day, judging from that vacant glare. The only thing that made this service tolerable was the gorgeous latte art bestowed upon me by frownie johnson. By the way my friend couldn't even access the internet- cool wifi password though. THEN my car's battery died in the parking lot when I tried to make my escape (the lot was super hard to navigate by the way). Overall 8/10 stars but it doesn't work that way on this app, i guess a 4/5. LASTLY, the big skull was scary. read more

Listen, I'm just going to say it outright: my partner and I are absolute, obnoxious coffee snobs. We're also travelers (road tripped through 33 states this year and counting). This is hands down the best espresso we've had. The interior is a dream come true; clean and open, but cozy, and decorated with tasteful skulls and vibrant plants.
