We stopped in The Amsden for an afternoon drink. The coffee shop/kid play area concept was amazing. The kids play area was creative and looked like kids would love it. It was not open when we arrived. The iced apple cider was delicious and the coffee my friends enjoyed hit the spot. The decor inside and out was perfect for the fall season. There was only one person behind the bar and she handled all the orders very well. We chose to enjoy our drinks outside in the beautiful weather. There was plenty of outside seating. The Amsden was a cute little coffee shop. We were very happy we stopped in.

This is such a cute space! I stopped in to try a drink from their spring menu. I had the strawberry matcha latte and it was just okay. I didn't love it, didn't hate it. The person who made my drink was kind and I loved seeing the activities they have for kids! I went on a Saturday and the downtown area was buzzing! So much so it was a little difficult to find parking. If I lived closer, I would try this place more often.

A cute coffee shop with tasty coffee! The floor plan is a bit small but the standing bar area is a good spot to post up and people watch outside of the windows. I had a dirty chai latte with an oat milk substitute. It was such a welcome hot drink on a cool fall afternoon. The service was prompt and quick!

The Amsden is a revitalized piece of Versailles history that has been transformed into a vibrant community hub! During our visit, it was absolutely bustling with visitors, and the staff still managed to handle our orders with the greatest efficiency. Plus, the coffee is delicious! I opted for the Iced Coffee with Bourbon Caramel Cold Foam, and coming from someone who typically isn't a big coffee drinker (but is a huge bourbon fan), trust me when I tell you this beverage was delicious! The old bank building where The Amsden is housed has preserved all of its character, while creating a modern space to enjoy a coffee, tea, or snack and catch up with a friend. Just through the coffee shop there's a small mercantile filled with unique finds, including antique items, jewelry, cards, and candles; making it a treasure trove for gift seekers and home decor enthusiasts. Whether you're a Versailles resident, or just passing through, The Amsden offers a place to relax and enjoy the charm of this historic town. I highly recommend checking it out!

A millennial girls ideal spot. Yummy coffee. Instagramable decor. The shop is really cute with jewelry, cards, books, candles, small children's section and lots of great gifts.

It's the annual holiday kickoff in Versailles. Stopping for a coffee and a scone before shopping. It's probably been here for a few years. It's a cute local coffee shop in a historic building downtown. Service is cheerful and polite. The coffee is good. The country ham and cheese scone was a bit intense. Perhaps I should have picked a sweet scone instead. Still, overall it was a pleasant experience.

This was my first time here and this coffee is Amazing. If your in town do yourself a favor and stop here for coffee. They even have apple Cider doughnuts from the local Pumpkin Patch Farm. I tried a Pumpkin Spice Mach with Pumpkin Cold Brew with Almond Milk. Instant satisfaction. Oh, I also bought some home-made and local beer cheese. Yum!

Such a cute coffee shop located in downtown Versailles. I love the exterior of the building, and the interior is just as beautiful. I ordered the carmel bourbon latte, and it was perfect! They had a few different selections for baked goods as well. Adjacent to the coffee shop is a small gift shop that had a great selection of clothing, jewelry and home goods.

Bourbon caramel iced coffee. Extra cream. Extra ice. Yes please. When in Kentucky.... That is all.

Brown sugar cinnamon matcha

The most prominent of a small selection of businesses in Versailles, this building houses not only the coffee shop but retail space next door. The cafe has a broad variety of drinks, and I went with a Brown Sugar Cinnamon Matcha, which sounds like a very Kentucky thing to do with matcha. Fortunately, powdered green tea goes with just about anything. While the color was green, the flavor was more strongly sweet than bitter. They had a few snacks as well as fancy lemonades to compliment the coffee.

Don't let the pictures fool you! My two friends and I decided to take a trip to Versailles to check out a coffee shop we had seen on Instagram. The pictures looked amazing, so we added it to our to-do list. We ordered different things - I went for the strawberry Matcha on the spring menu, one friend tried the strawberry tea, and the other tried a hot chai latte. When I received my Matcha, I was confused because it looked almost brown instead of green. Anyone who drinks Matcha knows it's supposed to be green. Moreover, it had hardly any taste and tasted more like milk than anything else. My friends also found their drinks to be bland. Despite the drinks being disappointing, the atmosphere was amazing. The interior was cute and picturesque, but the seating wasn't the best. If you're a student looking for a place to study, this probably isn't the best spot.

The Amsden has been on my list of places to check out for a while now and a friend and I decided to check it out finally this past weekend! Located in downtown Versailles, the building is historic and adorably vintage-chic. Their coffee menu is pretty standard, and they do offer seasonal specials which are located on a separate menu near the register. I went with an almond milk latte and it was frothy and delicious! The cups and overall aesthetic at the Amsden are picture-perfect as well; which partially explains one of the reasons I wanted to go- they have a great social media presence and I've seen a lot from them on instagram! There are a few pastry and breakfast items available- I ordered a blueberry oatmeal to go with my coffee- the barista served me a hazelnut cocoa oatmeal instead, but it was delicious so I'm not going to complain. There are a few tables indoors for customers as well as patio seating. It was too cold to sit outside when we were there so we sat at a bar table by the window that had a nice view of downtown. There is a cute shop that sells KY local items that is connected to the coffee shop that is definitely worth checking out!

A sweet place in Versailles KY. Delicious coffee! Wide range of flavor options! Adorable place to visit and/or study at. Also connected to a cute boutique. Wish I was able to visit longer since I only stopped in for a quick refreshment while photographing a wedding. Fortunately it's only a 20 minute drive from downtown Lexington - so I will be back!

Christmas Open House in downtown Versailles KY. Quintessential small town charm. You need to visit this place!

Just an average coffee shop with decent coffee. Many better options in Lex but for Versailles area it's not too bad!

Ask the Community - The Amsden

Do they offer non-dairy options for their coffees? I am allergic to dairy, soy and almonds.? I can drink coconut milk but not much else.

Cassandra, So sorry for the delay in response! We are currently offering Almond Milk as our non-dairy alternative (which sounds like it doesn't help you very much!).… Read more
