Last week was our first time visiting First Watch, and we got there just before closing. We were welcomed immediately upon entering and seated right away. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere with ample seating. While everything on the menu sounded great, our waitress recommended we try items from the seasonal menu. We chose the B.E.C and the Chimichurri Steak & Eggs Hash--both dishes were delicious! We'll definitely return. read more

On a Friday morning this venue is a hot spot with a 20-30 minute wait depending on your party size. The host was warm and friendly and managed the check-in process like a pro. They do not take reservations but you can check in online ahead and confirm your spot when you arrive. The waitress was a bit in a rush as she asked us three times what we wanted before we were actually ready to order our food but she was friendly. The food was decent. I'm expecting, I was hungry and I love breakfast food so those things worked in their favor but I don't know that the food was anything I couldn't have enjoyed at any other breakfast place. I did enjoy the lavender drink. There's free parking in the lot with various shops and stores nearby. read more

Awesomely awesome. I'd never heard of this place. Old friend of mine and I wanted to catch up and he recommended we meet here for brunch/lunch. The waitstaff was really polite and helpful. Answered our typical stupid customer questions. The food was really nice. I got the steel-cut oatmeal because why not. Both it and the accompanying muffin were great. As was my awesome apple juice. Relatively quiet though the place was pretty full. I can see us meeting here again and again every few months forever. read more

Yes the Laurel location finally has its liquor license. The mimosas were so good. I really like the new Fall Menu. The service was actually great this time. Plus I love the new look. A great way to add more tables, for the longer wait periods. Keep up the good work. read more

The ambiance is nice and cozy and that is about where the positive ends. The waitress was friendly at the start ( more about that later ). My friend ordered the traditional breakfast and I ordered the ham and cheese omelette. The food runner delivered my friend's traditional breakfast and I sat there waiting for mine for the next seven minutes. The traditional breakfast was ordered with scrambled eggs and what came was not scrambled eggs. They were eggs, but they were like a square brick. My friend called the food runner back over and said she felt she had gotten the wrong order since these were not scrambled. The food runner with a very negative attitude said those are scrambled eggs. At that point, I said those are not scrambled eggs because scrambled eggs are light and fluffy. He then snapped back saying I work here and those are scrambled eggs. I then asked where my meal was and he said I don't know. I just deliver what's told. The waitress came back and we questioned her about the scrambled eggs, not being light and fluffy or even resembling scrambled eggs and wondered where my meal was which has now been 10 minutes after my friend's meal was delivered. She said the kitchen is backed up. I'll get the manager. We never said we wanted the manager, but she didn't want to deal with us either about five minutes later the remade traditional breakfast came back by what we assume was the manager, even though he never identified himself as such and my meal came out as well. My home fries were completely cold as well as the omelette, but at that point, we didn't want to draw more attention to ourselves so we let it go. I have had ham and cheese omelette at many places and unfortunately all this was, was lunchmeat ham inside of the omelette with a piece of slice of cheese on top. Neither one of us were impressed with our overall experience and I will not go back to that location. read more

Have been many many times and the food is always good. Can get very crowded on weekends, so go early or do take out to avoid the wait.

Decided to try out this breakfast spot while out Laurel. Delicious should be the name We got the Million Dollar Bacon ( my 7 yr old says it's not worth the name lol) hubby gave it 10/10 We ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes 10/10 hubby says they are close in competition with Cheescake Factory's Lemon Ricotta. We chose this place due to it was multi grain batter and more on the healthy side. Eating bad but good. Farm to table makes a difference. Loved the options of meat choice, Turkey, chicken or pork which allowed us to stay on the healthy side. I got the spiked lavender lemonade 10/10 Hubby got the watermelon wake up ( freshly juiced) 10/10 Kids both got plain pancakes off the regular menu kid menu only have chocolate chip pancakes. 9/10 & 10/10 kids reviews lol We all left satisfied. Bill was $80 so not bad for 4 people to eat. read more

They didn't get my order correct. When they tried a second time they still failed to meet me where I was. The order was simple. Over easy eggs. White cooks yellow runny- each time they came out hard. And of course, when you have are forced to make a do-over the rest of your food gets cold. That's is the challenge and both times the cooks failed to meet my basic request. The shrimp and grits that my sister ordered was very bland and flavorless. Grits were stif textured with wilted vegetables mixed in. Was not attractive at all. My wife had her basic avocado toast which she enjoyed. Bill came to 63.00 plus the tip. I hesitated about the tip but gave generously - decided to give a review instead and be transparent. I could not address the issue I had for a third time because I was out of time and had to get to the BWI airport to catch my flight. read more

Mixed emotions . Out of the waffles , eggs , and bacon ... the bacon was the only thing I liked . Everything else was blah. I asked for eggs scrambled hard and the eggs were everything but . The bacon was okay . The waffle however was good . I would come back for there . The decor in side is very bright and color and very welcoming . The place is clean and the staff is friendly . read more

Fresh Watch is such a brunch vibe! The million dollar potatoes are to die for!!!! Cheesy grits, pancakes and season fruit! all amazing! The pancakes are huge, 2 would be more than enough! It was super busy..which is to be expected for a city favorite! Definitely would recommend making reservations. However, the staff was kind and did express apologies if the food took a little longer than expected. The food was well worth the wait! read more

Had a great time at brunch here at First Watch! I came with my family one Sunday and we ordered an assortment of the food items on the menu. I ordered the smoked salmon frittata which was good, but I really enjoyed their French toast. My only complaint is that the home fries were a bit uncooked. None of us were able to enjoy them because they were a bit hard. It was towards the closing time, but we still expected quality food. Our waitress was very accommodating and even apologized by offering us a discount because of it. Besides that, we enjoyed our time here and have no complaints about the other food read more

I wanted to place a to go order for pickup. I tried using the website to order, but the site is not compatible with my android phone. Tried calling in an order over the phone, but I just get a message telling me to use the website or app. The takeout experience sucks. Fix your website or take call-in orders. read more

My mother & I went today, there was no wait. Our waitress was friendly but needed to be a bit more attentive. My mom is slightly needed lol. I had the pineapple express drink it was yummy. We shared a bowl of the tomato basil soup. She said it wasn't made in house but it was still delicious. My mom said her wrap was cold & jus okay but she did like the grits. I enjoyed my crab cake benedict. Plenty of flavor & cooked nicely. I subbed out the salad for black beans. Nice portions w/ reasonable prices & a variety of dishes. A few reasons for 3 stars. There were no straws. We had to ask multiple times for napkins. Lastly most importantly the food took so long, even the soup. I thought she was bringing the soup with our meal as long as it took to get. Honestly, I don't think I'd dine here again. read more

After a nice workout my cousin suggested we go have brunch and boy they didn't disappoint. When we arrived I've immediately noticed a picture of there Spiked Lavender Lemonade and I knew I was going to order it because it looked so refreshing and pretty to the eyes. The atmosphere was nice and laid back and pretty spacious. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu when we asked questions. We started with the Bacon Cheddar Cornbread that came with a topping of sweet butter. The menu selection was pretty big but I ended up getting the Biscuits and gravy that came with a side of well seasoned potatoes and scrambled eggs. I left no crumbs it was that good :) My cousin ordered French Toast with a side of eggs and turkey sausage and my Son ordered the French toast that came with fresh fruit loaded on top with a side of bacon and let me tell you the presentation was beautiful. I don't know about you, but I eat with my eyes first. He also got himself a hot chocolate while me and my cousin both ordered the Spiked Lavender Lemonade, which was so freaking good. I will go there just to have that. I highly recommend this place for brunch, and to give that drink a try you will not be disappointed. Cheers to good eats :) read more

Tried the Monterey Club sandwich for a late lunch on a Wednesday. For $9.99, it comes with soup, salad, or potatoes. Portions are large. Service was attentive and prompt. Restaurant is open until 2:30 pm for breakfast and lunch. regoing on a weekday when it's less crowded. Sign up for First Watch emails and your first email is buy one, get one free entree. Also, you get a free birthday entree email. 12/11/19 update - For this visit on a Wednesday, I tried the Steak and Hash entree for $12.49. It was large and delicious. Service is still attentive and prompt. There was only a short wait for a table. It would be great if First Watch could be opened for dinner too. This is much better than going to IHOP. read more

I'm going to say the one thing that I have yet to see anyone else say, but after sitting here a while and thinking about my 2 experiences here all I can think of saying is "It's okay". I get why people like it, but I don't think that it's because the food is gonna blow you away. It's just really the only healthy option in town. The second time I went I got the "Chickichanga" and it reads as so: Whipped eggs with spicy all-natural white-meat chicken, chorizo sausage, green chilies, Cheddar and Monterey Jack, onions and avocado rolled in a flour tortilla. Topped with Vera Cruz sauce and sour cream. Served with fresh fruit and fresh, seasoned potatoes. That sounds amazing to me, but it really wasn't all that. All those bold flavors in theory should make for a really flavorful dish, but the chicken was bland, the chorizo wasn't much better, and there wasn't much of either inside. The best part was getting out and having a guilt free meal. The restaurant itself is really nice on the inside, and it can accommodate a decent size group of people. Our server was very nice, and she stayed on top of everything. Definitely no complaints about the service. I just wasn't overly impressed. The overall consensus from my the group i was with was that the menu made everything sound amazing, but in reality the food was just "okay". read more

Breakfast was soo good!! I had the ham and gruyere omelette with potatoes and toast.. I'm used to cubed ham and this omelette had deli ham, which wasn't a problem because it was easy to cut and delicious.. unlike most other places, the potatoes tasted fine without me having to add salt and pepper (although I did). They weren't as bland as some of the breakfast spots I visited recently.. I love whole grain bread so the toast and jelly were amazing, AND there was the right amount of butter on the toast (some places are stingy).. The service was great, but I did not like being given the check while I'm not even midway through my meal. Also, the hot chocolate tasted generic but had a good aftertaste. This trip would've been five stars if not for the hot chocolate and timing of the check, but I would revisit next time I am in the area. read more

Love this place However the popularity of it has caused massive crowds from open to close. So believe it or not I'm a regular but never checked in, today I decided to check in and place my review . I used a app called "Nowait " this app allows you to get in line before you physically arrive at the location. Considering how long the wait is , it is highly recommended that you used this app or keep your eye out for the community table(strangers sit together ) in the front of the restaurant. I had the best freshly squeezed juice , it is called the morning meditation, it consist of beets , turmeric , ginger and apple. For my entire I had the "trifecta " which is your choice of waffle pancake or French toast paired with eggs and meat of your choice . I had the delicious waffle , with two eggs over medium and for breakfast meat I upgraded my regular bacon to the "millionaire" bacon. The millionaire bacon is the star of the show they bake it and it is coated with this candy brown surgery goodness and cracked black pepper , it is sunshine in your mouth . read more

One can never go wrong with First Watch for breakfast...... besides the long walk for walk ins at times. Luckily while looking for breakfast spots in Laurel,y dearest Yelp reminded me of this First Watch location along with giving the option to put my name in advance on their online "Live Time" waiting list. I was 14th in line with a 40-45 min wait! By the time I left the house for my 30 mins drive & got to the restaurant we were immediately sat. We started off with refreshing Kale Tonics and Morning Meditations to wash down my Avocado Toast with a side of Million dollar bacon, while my Dad ordered French Toast and cheese grits. Everything was absolutely delicious and filling. This is a favorite on my breakfast list as a place to go without mimosas! read more

First Watch has done an amazing job balancing the comfort food of a diner with wholesome ingredients. The modernized menu features traditional breakfast, cold pressed veggie/fruit drinks, and vegan options. The ambiance is contemporary and blends the farm to table concept with rustic aesthetics. Unfortunately, the waitress rushed service and was not enthusiastic in her interactions. Back to the food, I ordered the Chocolate Chip pancake with scrambled eggs and chicken sausage. The platter was delicious and though only one pancake is included, it was surprisingly filling. This location like all other locations is busy during peak brunch time. Treat yourself! read more

First Watch is a health-minded breakfast/lunch restaurant named after the first work shift aboard a ship. So, they are open from 7:00 AM until 2:30 PM every day. There are over 470 locations in the United States. My wife and I usually go to the Bowie location. We visited this location because we were passing through the area and decided to get breakfast. We got the Million Dollar Bacon, Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos, The Works omelet, and coffee. The Million Dollar Bacon comes with 4 slices of hardwood smoked bacon glazed with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne, and maple syrup drizzle. The bacon was thick-cut and fried well, but it wasn't crispy. It was smoky, sweet, and savory. There was a strong maple syrup flavor. We think it would taste better with less syrup. We enjoyed it nonetheless. The Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos had 3 wheat-corn tortillas with scrambled eggs, Cajun chicken, chorizo, Cheddar cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese. They were topped with fresh avocado and housemade pico de gallo. It comes with a side of seasoned black beans. We substituted the seasoned black beans for seasoned potatoes. The chicken and chorizo were moist and somewhat tender. There was no Cajun flavor. There wasn't much meat, but plenty of eggs. The dominant flavor was from the pico de gallo. Overall, it had a tomato, lime, and seasoning flavor. It wasn't hot or spicy. It was decent tasting, but we've had better elsewhere. The seasoned potatoes were good. It came with some ketchup. The Works Omelet had ham, bacon, sausage, roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes with Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses. It was topped with sour cream. It comes with whole grain toast, a natural preserve, and mixed greens salad. We substituted cheesy grits for the salad. The grits were plain tasting and the cheese tasted like a mild cheddar. Some seasoning would have helped. I put some salt in it and that helped a little. The omelet had lots of savory ingredients. It was lacking seasoning also. It was still good tasting, but the Bowie location makes a great omelet. Their coffee was a medium roast with a full-bodied flavor. A rich and smooth coffee with notes of blackberry, toasted nuts, and caramel. It is a single-origin specialty coffee from Huila, Colombia harvested by a group of female farmers dubbed "Mujeres en Café" (Women in Coffee). The coffee is roasted at Royal Cup Coffee & Tea. You can buy a 12 oz bag of their ground coffee. It is called Project Sunrise. The service was attentive, friendly, and polite. The dining room and restrooms were clean. It was very busy on a Saturday at 9:30 AM. We used the waitlist on the First Watch website. We were seated immediately when we got there. Great service and good food. We would recommend this restaurant, but the Bowie location is better. read more
