This is one of my favorite breakfast places in Joplin. The food is very fresh and they have a nice selection of items on the menu. The bread is to die for. The eggs benedict are delicious! Portions are large so come hungry or plan to share with someone. It's very clean and you can see into the kitchen which is always reassuring. The wait wasn't long but if you're concerned about waiting you can download the app and get in line before you get there. read more

Excellent food! The 'Morning Market Veg' omelette was outstanding! Also, it is nice to have a breakfast place that has fresh squeezed juice! A pro tip though; ask for the juice with NO ICE, otherwise it will be mostly ice and very little juice (based on previous experience at their Springfield, MO location). read more

Their wait list system is great. Makes the waiting not so big a deal. When you go in they put your name and number into their system which (1) allows them to notify you when your table is ready and (2) lets you know how many parties are in front of you and gives you real time updates on where you are in the queue. Nice. The good: the food is good taste and good portion size. Not too silly big. The wheat toast is fantastic and they butter it in the kitchen so it comes out perfect to the table. My recommendations to them to make things even better: (1) the water is not great tasting. Tastes like tap water that is somewhat cool. I highly recommend they get a filter or, if they have one, change to a different system. Cool, crisp water is a must. Recommend also including lemons with it to further enhance the flavor of the water. (2) please provide heavy cream at the table to use in the coffee. Their coffee is very strong and would be better with a fresh heavy cream. The half and half little containers at the table don't cut it. Neither flavor wise nor to balance the strong coffee. (3) consider adding smoothies to the menu. (4) Add a larger waiting area that is out of the way of the front door. Consider serving waiting area by letting people order fresh juices or smoothies while they wait. (5) the area to pay your bill is also the same area that people are walking in to out their name on the waiting list. This mix gets confusing and congested. Consider moving the bill pay area to another area that naturally allows people to then exit w/o getting in the way of people coming in trying to get their name on the waiting list, and vice versa. read more

This is an excellent spot for breakfast/brunch/lunch. We stopped on our way through Joplin and were pleased with the quality of food and service. They have a handful of gluten-free options and a few vegetarian options as well. I ordered the Avocado Toast on gluten-free bread with two eggs. My husband got the Tri-Fecta which was chicken sausage, eggs, and a waffle. It was all delicious. The prices are good for the amount of food provided and the service was quick and friendly. Came here for breakfest with my family our server was leandra and she was absolutely amazing one of the best servers I have ever had anywere. She got everything we needed in a timely matter and everything she recommended was amazing, she was very friendly and attentive!!! She is a huge asset to your resuturant and deserves much kudos!!!She is defently going to have some new regulars, anyone who comes here should ask to sit in leandras section. read more

Our first visit was for breakfast. My wife ordered the eggs with biscuits and gravy, served with potatoes; a very attractive presentation. My order was for a large pancake with bacon, served with warm syrup. All was delicious, and perfectly prepared. Second visit was for lunch, with both of us having a chicken salad sandwich, served with vegetable soup. Both were generous servings, and very, very good! Service was excellent. This was our second visit to First Watch. It was a better experience than the first one. We had a party of 4 and we were told it would be a 35-45 minute wait. When I looked around there were a LOT of empty tables and really not that many people waiting. The empty tables were not cleared yet and no one was attempting to try to clear them. We ended up really only waiting about 20 minutes for our table. The food is good, the service just so so. We never did get our water refilled during the whole time we were there. As I said before it was better than the first time when we had a party of 10 and they wanted to seat one couple by themselves and the other 8 of us in groups of 4. We ended up moving a table so the party of 2 could join us and we were told that they didn't know if we could do that or not. They definitely need some guidance on how to seat large groups! read more

The first time we ate here it was great. But this morning was disappointing. I unfortunately ordered the vegetable omelette. It came with an arugula salad in vinaigrette. The omelette was dry and the vegetables were cut way too huge too eat. So not good!! I partially blame the waitress for not being more inviting and offering more information. She also did not check back on us. We won't be back anytime soon. read more
