Joplin happens to be a good midway point for my wife and I to meet up with our daughter and her family. Looking for a new and fun place to meet up for this latest trip, we stumbled across The Bruncheonette in Yelp. Sooooo thankful we did. It's located at the northern edge of downtown Joplin on main street. It's a small quaint place with both on and off-street parking. We could tell immediately that we'd made a popular choice based upon the large number of cars and folks waiting to get a seat. The hostess welcomed us just outside the front door and us we'd be seated shortly. She was great and very nice to chat with. We had to wait outside a short bit before we were escorted inside. The space and seating is limited for sure. There are tables as well as some bar-style seating along the edges of the restaurant. The environment was busy, fun and lively. Our granddaughter loved all the action. The person who escorted us in then actually took the extra time to explain their menu and options, which are posted on boards above the checkout counter. The menu is limited and made up of a combo of traditional lunch/brunch items. But they are all done with a unique and delicious flair. Sort of a twist on the traditional bunch options. All of us enjoyed our meals. We had breakfast street tacos, a salmon cake eggs Benedict special, French toast, the fruit plate and a pancake. All of the portions were good sized, ingredients fresh and tasted great. They even went the extra step to bring our granddaughter some fried cheese to munch on. Very kind. I also got a laugh out of the fun pictures in the bathroom as well. Hilarious. The restaurants location allowed us to enjoy a stroll around the downtown area afterward brunch. My husband and I love discovering local spots when we travel, and The Bruncheonette was an absolute gem. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and asked if we had visited before. When we said no, the chef walked us through the menu, highlighting their locally sourced ingredients. I ordered the pancakes because I was eager to try the house-made syrup--and it absolutely lived up to the hype. My husband went with the pulled pork pancakes and loved them. We also tried the carrot fries, which were delicious. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great food and a welcoming atmosphere. This place was amazing! The biscuits are homemade and soo good under that gravy- don't be afraid of the chorizo bits- it's not too spicy. My kids loved the pancakes and fruit, and the Migas were soo flavorful. Fast service! My FIL wanted something more simple and they immediately remade his meal which I thought was so sweet. While this was only our second time here as I do not live locally, I can say this restaurant has been so perfect that they will be a specifically made pit stop on all future trips! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and there is no doubt this team genuinely enjoys working together. The menu options are diverse and unique to this little corner of the Midwest. This is a wonderful, locally owned spot with delicious brunch options. It's open until 2 pm and has private parking in a lot. This is the first and only place where I've had pulled pork pancakes and they are awesome. The owner and team here are so kind, accommodating, and very welcoming. read more

Small intimate location with 4 tables and a couple counters to sit at. They also have a small patio outside. Love the menu and the service was great. Such a cozy place to have breakfast & brunch. The Lobster Benny was very tasty! The staff are so helpful and nice to explain the menu and check on us. This restaurant also allows to do the half order which is awesome! Since the place is small, you will have to wait outside until the host allows you in, and the seating is limited, but we have a side table facing the outside view. The highlight for me was the high quality service at this trendy brunch spot. From the personal, detailed explanation of the menu as we waited in line to order, to the fast paced delivery of our food and condiments, the attentive but not overbearing server really impressed me. Prices seemed fair as well at around $10-14 per person for a filling meal. Although the parking lot was full when we arrived on a Sunday morning, we only waited maybe 5 minutes to get seated. Everything was smooth and pleasant logistically. The food itself was decent and delivers on what the menu promises. Both the pancakes and french toast were somewhat bland in our opinion, but syrup certainly helped to mask this. The fruit plate was a little sad - just a cut up avocado half, a sliced banana, and some pineapple slices on a small side plate. Overall, not the best but not bad by any means. I could see why it would be a popular spot for weekend brunch. read more

Wow, what a find! This is our breakfast stop on our first day of our Rte. 66 trip and what a way to begin! RRR and I split three items, the GardenBenny, the Hey, Brah (Hawaiian bread French toast), and the side of fruit. The Garden Benny was awesome with asparagus, tomato, avocado, sprouts and a beautifully poached egg, all topped with a beet hollandaise (don't judge in advance, SO good! ) They were so kind to split this for us. The Hey Brah was also amazing, topped with sliced bananas and served with syrup (did I overhear this is house-made?) My only issue was the centers were underdone but we still enjoyed it. The side of fruit was more sliced bananas, fresh pineapple (!), and avocado. Oh, and their coffee was wonderful. We probably won't need lunch today! Or dinner! read more

Tiny place, but they know what they are doing. We waited outside until our table was ready and then went inside to the counter to order and then got to sit down. The pork pancake just had pulled pork on top. It was good but I was expecting it to be cooked in. The bannanna French toast was sweet and delicious. A casual spot with a relaxed feel offering both indoor and outdoor seating. The food, was beautifully presented, farm fresh and bursting with flavor. We ordered the Hey Brah!, the Benny Harper and shared a beautiful fresh garden tomato salad topped with parm and balsamic drizzle. They were very attentive throughout our meal and made sure coffee was full and tables were cleaned promptly. Vibrant locally sourced seasonal ingredients and a wonderful staff made this stop an enjoyable surprise. The Bruncheonette is a Joplin gem and does not disappoint. SUCH a gem! We were traveling through and I'm SO glad we found this place! We got there during "brunch" hours and it's a small place, but managed to get a table right after ordering. Whoever was behind the counter suggested the Cuban B as her favorite, and I went with it. The husband ordered the Island Stylee, with a side of Carrot Fries. The Bloody Mary? Great! The Cuban B? Awesome!!! And you GOTTA try them Carrot Fries! They BE SO GOOD!! Such a jewel of a place. The kind of place you only expect in a big city! They're doing a great job here, with the food and service. The wife has been pushing to get me to come here but getting her out of bed early enough to beat the crowd is the challenge. Finally made plans this last weekend to go and we got there and was 3 in line. We got the B.A. Baracus Migas and the Hey Brah! Both were great. The house made salsa was fresh and flavorful. The eggs were scrambled just right then we go to the Hawaiian sweet bread french today with carnelian bananas and a beer syrup. Yes you are correct it's a little bite of heaven. The place is a nice little cozy joint so either get up early and get there or be ready to wait and get to know some of the other customers while you wait.
