    Strawberry waffle and cream

It was just okay, a lot of people seem to really like it but we found it rather ordinary. I think it's popular because 1, there is nothing else out there in the area and 2 it's got, friendly downhome staff. It seems most of the people there were locals to that part of town and there are no other options. It's great to have a place where the staff knows you well and you are all friends. However, it was very busy and that friendliness sometimes got in the way. When we got in line to check out the woman handling the register was talking with a woman who did not pay anything so maybe a friend or maybe she just stopped in to talk. But they went on and on chatting and could not care that there was a line waiting to pay. I found it rude. We won't be going back as there are many other options with more or less the same food and the same prices all around town.

I stopped for lunch at 11:30 am on a Tuesday and the place was packed. I was given a high-top table and my server came right over and took my drink order and gave me a menu. The menu was very large, it had something for everyone. When my server returned with my Coke, I ordered the Hot Beef open faced sandwich with mashed potatoes and a cup of the cream of broccoli soup. My soup came right out, and it was very good. It was cream and flavorful, I really enjoyed it. Soon after, even before I was done with my soup, my meal came out. Everything was smothered in a nice beef gravy. The beef was sliced like at a deli, but it was tender and on top of two pieces of white bread. The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. Everything tasted good together. I thought this was a great place to stop and get good value for your money. I would eat here again.

A waffle and an Eggo for hard you can't see my whip cream. Trust me it's good.

The biscuit Benedict is biscuits and gravy and eggs and hashbrowns and it looks amazing with the waffles. I don't like fruit directly on my waffles but they're good. I'm looking around at a lot of people eating a lot of very good foods and the service is outstanding with a little bit of smart :-) just the kind you want.

Joplin Cafe is the place to go if you want a great breakfast! I got the Joplin Cafe Omelet and it was very good! They have tons to choose from including Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner options. Service was very good, however, the atmosphere could be a little better. Overall, great place to eat while in JoMo! Pros: Well Priced, Polite Service, Wonderful Food, Lots of Options Cons: Atmosphere

Looking for a new and fun place to meet up for this latest trip, we stumbled across The Bruncheonette in Yelp. Sooooo thankful we did. It's located at the northern edge of downtown Joplin on main street. It's a small quaint place with both on and off-street parking. We could tell immediately that we'd made a popular choice based upon the large number of cars and folks waiting to get a seat. The hostess welcomed us just outside the front door and us we'd be seated shortly. She was great and very nice to chat with. We had to wait outside a short bit before we were escorted inside. The space and seating is limited for sure. There are tables as well as some bar-style seating along the edges of the restaurant. The environment was busy, fun and lively. Our granddaughter loved all the action. The person who escorted us in then actually took the extra time to explain their menu and options, which are posted on boards above the checkout counter. The menu is limited and made up of a combo of traditional lunch/brunch items. But they are all done with a unique and delicious flair. Sort of a twist on the traditional bunch options. All of us enjoyed our meals. We had breakfast street tacos, a salmon cake eggs Benedict special, French toast, the fruit plate and a pancake. All of the portions were good sized, ingredients fresh and tasted great. They even went the extra step to bring our granddaughter some fried cheese to munch on. Very kind. I also got a laugh out of the fun pictures in the bathroom as well. Hilarious. The restaurants location allowed us to enjoy a stroll around the downtown area afterward brunch. Great place, great staff. We now have a new "meet-up" spot in Joplin!

My wife had the avocado toast. She said it was really good. Service was great and it's a neat atmosphere. It was a little loud because it's so busy. So if you want quiet, this isn't your place. My only complaint other than the over cooked eggs is the price. First, the menu prices are not updated. My meal said it was $19.00. In reality, it was $22.00. So it's pricy. Not really worth it for an every week place to eat in my opinion. I will probably only eat here on special occasions in the future. We spent just under $50.00 without tip. We had water to drink and I had a coffee. There are plenty of other places in Joplin with food priced more reasonably and that is just as good. It's definitely worth trying, just know it's pricy.

It seems the bill did not reflect the prices that were on the menu. Somehow a $11 turned out to be $13 or $14. Not sure how/why that happened. Service: Awesome Ambiance: Nice

Their breakfast is as good as it gets when it comes to cafe food. Their meatloaf is some of the best I've had to be honest. I love their homemade hot rolls they serve with the meatloaf. The hamburger steak is one of my favorites. Their green beans are ok. Probably their weakest side. Their country potatoes are among my favorites. The service is always good. The ladies there work hard and know their customers. It's loud when full of customers, but hey..at least they are busy. It's always clean and they are friendly. Obviously I love this place.
