Service was good. Food was okay. Avocados in the omelette weren't really fully ripe. Grits and salad were nice. Pancakes weren't nothing to write home about.

One of our favorite breakfast restaurants dropped a notch today. The food quality was still great. The combination of the food and our friendly waitress, Angelique saved the ranking from dropping to a one star. Here's why: We arrived and the restaurant was about 60% full,w/ a couple of tables and five booths open, and NO ONE waiting in line. When asking to be seated at a booth, my wife & I were told we needed to sit at a small table for two at the end of a banquette by the wall, right next to another group of people and said "because it wouldn't be fair if a party of four showed up." Seriously? There were five booths open and a number of them were booths of only two people. We disagreed and got her to seat us at a booth when she said "I can't make you sit there." Shortly after, a few more booths opened and only two more couples and one party of five showed up within 15 minutes of that. A manager was never in sight to talk to about this, but the message had to have been given to her by someone. Time to fix the message.

This unassuming little breakfast & brunch bistro offers a surprisingly healthful menu. If you want a heart attack on a plate, you'll have to put forth some effort. Everything on the menu is customizable, which is wonderful if you have a multitude of food allergies and sensitivities- or if you want to assemble something less good for you. Service isn't the fastest in all the land, but Joplin is pretty far south, after all. It is a leisurely restaurant, with outstanding food choices, at incredibly reasonable prices. Update! The food is amazing, and the jalapeno jelly is a brand spankin' new menu item you must try, today! It is absolutely incredible! The bad news is, they dont sell it in bottles you can mail back to family in Indiana. Ominously, the warning on the menu threatens that 'new fresh menu items are only available for a limited time'. So stampede on in here and get this jalapeno jelly in such volume, that they have to keep it on the menu! Use it as dip for everything you put in your mouth, you won't regret it! It offers the perfect, quintessential blend of sweet and heat, making it completely and utterly irresistible.

Chilly morning breakfast. Place is a nice and clean and very busy today. Got a basic ham and cheese omlete with raisin toast and biscuit and gravy for sides. Three egg omlete was nice and cheesy with plenty of ham. The side of biscuit and gravy was two nice and golden biscuits and a small bowl of country gravy. The raisin toast was burnt and i couldnt eat it. Wife got the cinnamon roll pancakes and she said they were very good just very sweet. Service was mediocre not terrible but waitress was not present very much. Had to ask for refills twice.

Food is comparable to McDonald's so if you want to pay more for low quality food then this place is for you. They charge for every little thing they give you and don't tell you until you get the bill, $2 for salsa and jalapeños?! I had the queso burrito and it was bland and had the hash browns which were undercooked and soggy. The coffee wasn't that good either. I wouldn't go back unless it was someone else asking me to go but then I would just suggest the Bruncheonette or Cracker Barrel

TL;DR: Better than the local IHOP. I really enjoy the food selection here. I have ordered different items every time I have been. They have all been wonderful! The service is on par with what I could expect from a breakfast place. I would like to be able to go here later in the evening, but it is perfectly okay otherwise. Side note: I have always only gotten the breakfast, so it could be a toss up for how the lunch items would taste, if you're into that kind of thing!

Our first time here and we loved it! Nice portions - great tasting food. The waitress was wonderful - hopefully when you visit Angie will be your waitress. We will be back!

Coffee is very weak, but comes in a cool mug.

IHOP what? Jimmy's does some great breakfast. The dinning room is clean, the staff are polite and well presented, the service is a little bumpy, but it's new and pretty busy. The menu has all your typical breakfast options, and a bunch of grilled sandwiches that I need to try on my next visit. If your wanting to get your egg sweats on, go for the "Big Jim" omelette, with 5 eggs, and your selection of 10 ingredients, and 2 sides, this is the hungry mans breakfast. This is the place to go for a good breakfast in Joplin.

Not a great pic, but believe me. It was amazing.

Great food and service. Everything is homemade style cooking. I had amazing veggie omelets and pancakes here this week. This place is a winner. Nice job Thank you.

Looking for a new and fun place to meet up for this latest trip, we stumbled across The Bruncheonette in Yelp. Sooooo thankful we did. It's located at the northern edge of downtown Joplin on main street. It's a small quaint place with both on and off-street parking. We could tell immediately that we'd made a popular choice based upon the large number of cars and folks waiting to get a seat. The hostess welcomed us just outside the front door and us we'd be seated shortly. She was great and very nice to chat with. We had to wait outside a short bit before we were escorted inside. The space and seating is limited for sure. There are tables as well as some bar-style seating along the edges of the restaurant. The environment was busy, fun and lively. Our granddaughter loved all the action. The person who escorted us in then actually took the extra time to explain their menu and options, which are posted on boards above the checkout counter. The menu is limited and made up of a combo of traditional lunch/brunch items. But they are all done with a unique and delicious flair. Sort of a twist on the traditional bunch options. All of us enjoyed our meals. We had breakfast street tacos, a salmon cake eggs Benedict special, French toast, the fruit plate and a pancake. All of the portions were good sized, ingredients fresh and tasted great. They even went the extra step to bring our granddaughter some fried cheese to munch on. Very kind. I also got a laugh out of the fun pictures in the bathroom as well. Hilarious. The restaurants location allowed us to enjoy a stroll around the downtown area afterward brunch. Great place, great staff. We now have a new "meet-up" spot in Joplin!

My wife had the avocado toast. She said it was really good. Service was great and it's a neat atmosphere. It was a little loud because it's so busy. So if you want quiet, this isn't your place. My only complaint other than the over cooked eggs is the price. First, the menu prices are not updated. My meal said it was $19.00. In reality, it was $22.00. So it's pricy. Not really worth it for an every week place to eat in my opinion. I will probably only eat here on special occasions in the future. We spent just under $50.00 without tip. We had water to drink and I had a coffee. There are plenty of other places in Joplin with food priced more reasonably and that is just as good. It's definitely worth trying, just know it's pricy.
