I am very glad to be returning to this restaurant after months of not eating here. Our waitress, Nina, was very nice, and brought out our food very quickly. One of our favorite breakfast restaurants dropped a notch today. The food quality was still great. The combination of the food and our friendly waitress, Angelique saved the ranking from dropping to a one star. Here's why: We arrived and the restaurant was about 60% full,w/ a couple of tables and five booths open, and NO ONE waiting in line. When asking to be seated at a booth, my wife & I were told we needed to sit at a small table for two at the end of a banquette by the wall, right next to another group of people and said "because it wouldn't be fair if a party of four showed up." Seriously? There were five booths open and a number of them were booths of only two people. We disagreed and got her to seat us at a booth when she said "I can't make you sit there." Shortly after, a few more booths opened and only two more couples and one party of five showed up within 15 minutes of that. A manager was never in sight to talk to about this, but the message had to have been given to her by someone. Time to fix the message. read more

Chilly morning breakfast. Place is a nice and clean and very busy today. Got a basic ham and cheese omlete with raisin toast and biscuit and gravy for sides. Three egg omlete was nice and cheesy with plenty of ham. The side of biscuit and gravy was two nice and golden biscuits and a small bowl of country gravy. The raisin toast was burnt and i couldnt eat it. Wife got the cinnamon roll pancakes and she said they were very good just very sweet. My husband and I ordered breakfast take out (doordash delivery) from this location and we were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. We had eaten here once before years ago, and didn't care for it. So we weren't expecting much. I had the classic breakfast with sausage patties, scrambled eggs, seasoned home fries and pancakes. The hubby had a queso blanco burrito and an English muffin. He said it was really good and that he thoroughly enjoyed it. Mine was also very delicious. Especially the home fries. They may have been my favorite thing. They weren't the crunchy fake frozen kind you get at alot of restaurants. They were fresh cut, skin on red potatoes that were seasoned perfectly. Also, any place that allows you to choose pancakes over toast is a winner in my book! IHOP what? Jimmy's does some great breakfast. The dinning room is clean, the staff are polite and well presented, the service is a little bumpy, but it's new and pretty busy. The menu has all your typical breakfast options, and a bunch of grilled sandwiches that I need to try on my next visit. If your wanting to get your egg sweats on, go for the "Big Jim" omelette, with 5 eggs, and your selection of 10 ingredients, and 2 sides, this is the hungry mans breakfast. I really really really hate this place. The food isn't the real problem I have with Jimmy's Egg. My real problem with this establishment is its staff. They are the worst. We waited an alarming amount of time to have our drink order taken. During that wait a server came to our table and asked us if we knew who she was supposed to be serving because she had no idea what tables were hers. Once we got our food there was a discrepancy with the amount of sausage that was included with the the particular meal my friend had ordered. It the menu specified that you get 3 and she only recieved 2. Our server then proceeded to argue with us about this until another server walked by and told her that there indeed should have been 3. I'm in Joplin for work this week and I've been wanting to try Jimmy's Egg forever but the one close to my house is too busy and it's hard to get a table on the weekends. It just so happens to be Tuesday and this place is empty. There are only two other tables occupied and it's pretty quiet. Perfect timing on my part. My server's name is Angie and she is really sweet and she knew exactly what I meant when I asked if the hashbrowns were frozen and flash fried. She said "we do the potatoes ourselves and put them in a cooler." This was music to my ears as a hashbrown addict who is constantly disappointed by IHOP and other breakfast establishments. I ordered Jimmy's Traditional with scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, hashbrowns, and a fruit cup. First of all, it's the heartiest meal you can get for 7.79. Second of all, it was cooked to perfection. I was so pleased that the turkey sausage was actually sausage and not a "turkey link" (like every breakfast place in Springfield has "turkey links" and they are terrible) and that the hashbrowns tasted fresh and the eggs were fully cooked. 6:00 AM along Range Line Road in Joplin, MO is a dark place, illuminated by countless neon signs highlighting the many chains that call this stretch of pavement home. Yet, for a car full of sleepy boys on their way to a cross country meet in Arkansas, only one sign had any meaning, and that was, of course JIMMY EGG! Now I understand that the name of the franchise is Jimmy's Egg, but for a bunch of groggy, yet giddy young men, the exclamatory nature of JIMMY EGG was much more accurate to describe the delicious meal we were ready to enjoy. Inside the restaurant, our crew found a friendly and inviting interior a tad classier than IHOP. After eliminating the options from the elaborate menu that would give us a bad race later that morning, (looking at you biscuits and gravy omelette) Chad stopped by to ask us what we did want. And let me tell you, we feasted- not only on Chad's good looks but also on the piles of okay food that were brought out about 20 minutes later. Not a bad wait, not a bad taste, and overall, not a bad experience. I should also tell you that the JIMMY EGG bathrooms are plenty spacious and soundproof for a bunch of giggly boys, and the toilet cleaner in the stall was a nice aesthetic touch, providing a sense of assurance that the bathrooms were indeed clean. In conclusion, if we see another JIMMY EGG sign on the way to a meet, we will probably pull off and do it all over again. read more

Our waitress whose name is Angelique was rude. First she took our order for food and then walked off before we could order anything to drink. Then she spilled coffee on the table and said whoops let me go get some paper towels and clean the stuff, then she came back to the napkins on the table for tossed them to me like I was just clean up her mess. She never came back to ask is how we're doing throughout our meal. Other waitresses helped us and were very nice always filling our coffee cups. After our meal she bought the wrong ticket and was rude about it. I didn't bring Our to go box as we requested, we have the flag down another server to get that. We ordered corn beef hash and they put turkey sausage on my plate instead she literally came with utensils and took the turkey sausage off of my plate back to the kitchen and sat it in the window then brought the corn beef hash and then charged us for the turkey sausage and when we disputed it she got very rude again and scratched all over our ticket needless to say she did not get a tip and we will not be back read more

I've eaten breakfast here twice so far. Both times I've tried different omelets. I love their omelets because all the ingredients are mixed in together, not just folded over eggs. The omelets are large and packed with ingredients. You also get two sides which can include biscuts and gravy and pancakes amoung a variety of other options. This place is much like a IHOP or Village Inn. Except poorly managed. We came in with only one table occupied. The waitresses were not concerned with the growing number of tables and were mostly chatting and looking busy, but not really accomplishing anything. I could see our food waiting in the heat window, however our waitress took every table's order in her section before checking in on our food. There was no expediter so the food sat and the other wait staff passed over the food. As if I wasn't annoyed enough with this, they took our food out of the window to make room for more food. When we finally got our food, the toast was horribly burnt, the pancakes were not even cooked, and the food was cold. I asked to get another order of pancakes and got a single pancake. I repeated that I wanted a whole order of "cooked" pancakes. After some time I asked to see the manager and was told there wasn't one available. I received my pancakes 15 minutes later when everyone else abandoned their food. I politely paid, but this would be the first time I felt that a full refund or at least a discount should have been in order. read more

Burger was obviously a frozen patty with little flavor and a rubbery texture. It was also cooked medium well, not medium like I ordered. The portion of curly fries was maybe equal to a small order from a fast food place. My Coke was $2.19, that's more expensive than a 2-liter bottle from the grocery store. The service was prompt and courteous. But the food was overpriced and bland. I'd rather spend less money for more fries and a better tasting burger from Five Guys. read more
