Blackened Chicken Dip with pita and tortilla chips
Krista R.

We came to town for a coworkers birthday and ended up here at club 1201. We were initially supposed to have a party of 7 coming in around 12, but 3 cancelled and the other 4 of us decided to go early. They were really understanding and rolled with the change of time and # of guests easily. I wish I had gotten a picture of the inside of the restaurant, it has that kind of mismatched style that somehow completely works. The staff were friendly and fairly attentive. We ordered the blackened chicken dip to start and honestly I'd I wasn't sharing with 3 other people I could have made this my entire meal, it was delicious. I ordered the steak wedge salad with blue cheese dressing. I did feel that the toppings were kind of light - for an entree salad there's almost nothing to fill you up. Also, the bacon was good, but I wish there was more. Blue cheese crumbles would have been nice as well. The dressing was really good and the steak was well cooked and had good flavor. I'm not down in the area often, but if I was I'd eat here again.

mom's BM

Was visiting home for Christmas from Los Angeles and this place made me feel like I was in CA! :) It's super hip and fresh, unlike many of the places I grew up going to around Joplin - a welcomed change! We visited for brunch on a Sunday around 11am. There was no wait. The place was beautifully decorated for Christmas. All the servers were super sweet and efficient. I had the omelet special and my parents had a crepe and one of the benedicts. All 3 portions were generous and the food was delicious! The most decedent of the 3 was the benedict thing my mom got, eggs served on top of a spinach and artichoke dip-like stuff instead of biscuits or some other bread. It was SO RICH, so only get that plate if you're feeling like overindulging or if you're starving! Haha For 2 Bloody Mary's + the 3 plates, it came to $58 before tip. At $9/each for the BM bar, I thought that price was a bit high for Joplin (that's what I'd pay in LA for one BM at brunch!). However, the price was fair considering the ridiculous amount of stuff they had to put in the BMs - cubed cheeses, meats, olives, shrimp, veggies, pretty much everything you could imagine possible to toss into a BM. The mason jar they're served in was also half full with the vodka + semi-crushed ice, so they put a decent amount of vodka in them (and even had bacon vodka as a choice)! I'm really glad to see Joplin is starting to get places like this!!

The #2 breakfast and a delicious Bloody Mary.

This trendy style restaurant is great is you have a crowd that is a mix between wanting breakfast food or lunch. They have basics and specialty items to choose from that you can't get at just any restaurant around town. The 'make-your-own' Bloody Mary bar is my fav because there are a ton of ingredients to choose from for any preferences.

Raspberry Beignets

Had brunch here today and I walked away a very happy customer. I'm real big on ambience, and the inside of this restaurant is very inviting. Beautiful decor and paint. You feel happy as soon as you walk in. Had the beignets with raspberry couli and they were very good. The parmesan potatoes had a wonderful cheesy flavor, not a dusting but real prominent in a good way. I had the frittata of the day, which was ham, feta, and asparagus. It was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. My boyfriend ate the steak and eggs and his steak was done right. The only problem is the hours. They are only open for lunch during the week so if you're looking for someplace good to dine at on Saturday afternoon, sadly it won't be here.

Italian sandwich
Kate K.

We had the Italian sandwich on focaccia bread and the traditional club on wheat berry. The club was good, as always. The Italian sandwich was on point, so much meat! Loved the house made fries! Brought the pups and sat on the patio. We love this place!

Eggs Benedict w/ salmon and sweet potato fries.

Club 1201 is delightful with an intriguing aesthetic, relaxing environment, quick and friendly service, as well as flawless food. I have yet to try supper here but I would highly recommend for a Sunday morning brunch.

This is a long time "go to" lunch spot. Very popular with the Joplin business crowd. A local favorite.

It is NOT fast food but everyone knows you rarely get good food fast. It has a bit of a 40s vibe with big band music as background. I didn't get our waiter's name but the ticket said Music Man. He is friendly, attentive and stayed busy. I had the Big BLT and onion rings. 4 slices of bacon with garlic mayo on toasted, thick sliced white bread. Plenty to eat and fresh. Excellent sandwich. The onion rings were almost as good as Chicken Annie's. Deb had the Big Dipper and broccoli cheese soup. They both looked delicious and since she didn't have a leftover to take home, I would guess it tasted as good as it looked. I didn't think they were overly busy for 11:30 so help them out and go try it.

However, what is not so funny, is that all their sandwiches are one high price of 15.75 which also included things like grilled cheese and fried bologna which is just crazy to me. Now, I got the French Dipper and it was good. However, it was not bursting with flavor so it was a bit disappointing IMO. The onion rings were hand cut, but did not save the day either, luke warm and just alright tasted. Nothing to write home about :(. They did take very good care of us with a tandem wait staff and that was fantastic!!

Looking for a new and fun place to meet up for this latest trip, we stumbled across The Bruncheonette in Yelp. Sooooo thankful we did. It's located at the northern edge of downtown Joplin on main street. It's a small quaint place with both on and off-street parking. We could tell immediately that we'd made a popular choice based upon the large number of cars and folks waiting to get a seat. The hostess welcomed us just outside the front door and us we'd be seated shortly. She was great and very nice to chat with. We had to wait outside a short bit before we were escorted inside. The space and seating is limited for sure. There are tables as well as some bar-style seating along the edges of the restaurant. The environment was busy, fun and lively. Our granddaughter loved all the action. The person who escorted us in then actually took the extra time to explain their menu and options, which are posted on boards above the checkout counter. The menu is limited and made up of a combo of traditional lunch/brunch items. But they are all done with a unique and delicious flair. Sort of a twist on the traditional bunch options. All of us enjoyed our meals. We had breakfast street tacos, a salmon cake eggs Benedict special, French toast, the fruit plate and a pancake. All of the portions were good sized, ingredients fresh and tasted great. They even went the extra step to bring our granddaughter some fried cheese to munch on. Very kind. I also got a laugh out of the fun pictures in the bathroom as well. Hilarious. The restaurants location allowed us to enjoy a stroll around the downtown area afterward brunch. Great place, great staff. We now have a new "meet-up" spot in Joplin!

When we said no, the chef walked us through the menu, highlighting their locally sourced ingredients. I ordered the pancakes because I was eager to try the house-made syrup--and it absolutely lived up to the hype. My husband went with the pulled pork pancakes and loved them. We also tried the carrot fries, which were delicious. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great food and a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone in the area!

The sub arrived piping hot (good thing) but due to the moisture from turkey and stuffing it made the roll limp. Even cut in half it was a challenge to handle without the filling falling out.
