Food was fantastic. Service was a step below TERRIBLE! Sat at the bar and got a drink right away. Took 30 minutes before we were asked if we wanted to order food (which we stated when we sat down). Took around 40 minutes to get our food. There was a total of six people in the bar so it wasn't an overload. Had to ask to get our check which ended up being wrong. Of course no one was at the bar so I had to track someone down to get the bill corrected. read more

My ravioli pasta dough was raw for a couple of them. The fettuccine really resembled chewy egg noodles, but everything else was so amazing we have to go back for a second chance. My husband and daughter took me out to Finns for Mother's day for their special brunch. It was fantastic. Everything from egg quiche to dessert. They are great there and very attentive. Party of 8, great appetizers, (Crab Dip/ Bruschetta) & A total of 8 dishes - Ribeye, Candied Bacon Gouda chop , Salmon x2 with both bourbon glaze and Oscar style, fried walleye, Finn's meatloaf, coconut curried snapper. Tried 3 salads to include wedge and Caesar. Service was fantastic, ambiance was much better than expected for quiet conversation. We eat out, a lot, and rarely will every single person at our table rave about their meal !! They did this night. Kudos to the kitchen and your absolutely perfect wait staff. Their hostess even took a multi-generational picture at the fireplace for us. I will be back and have already recommended that several friends in to take the 50 min drive to eat here. New to the Joplin area, needed a late lunch. This place looked interesting. No, this place was awesome. From the food, to the decor, to the service! Highly recommend. To start, the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, the special for the day, was really good. Crunchy, moist chicken breast, even drenched in the sauce, on a brioche bun. When I asked how hot the sauce was, the waitress said "not that hot, there's some spice, but not hot." Well, it was very mild, I didn't get the spice she was talking about. It was good, had a lot of flavor, but definitely not hot. Oh and the sweet potatoes fries were great as well. Speaking of waitress, she was the best. Granted it was 2:30-3:00 in the afternoon, but she was on point. Gave me enough room, wasn't pushy, answered all my questions with a smile. Super friendly. Now to the best part! The decor! I would not expect this upper scale design and decor in a strip center! Eclectic art work, nicely designed room partitions, and the "lounge" reminded me of an. Old upper scale cigar lounge. Tufted leather seating, pocketed hardwood panels, a bar and a gorgeous fireplace. There is a very nice outside seating area, although I did not ask if you could eat out there. I didn't understand that the French Dip came with the horseradish sauce directly on the shaved prime rib. The server and kitchen had no problem fixing for me. The prime rib was tender and delicious. Went on a date night with the hubs and it was outstanding. The service was great. Nice upscale atmosphere. Food was amazing! We had the crab dip, beef Wellington (OMG!) and ribeye. We ordered a few sides because we couldn't decide went with the sweet potato mash (our fav!), the creamy corn, and Brussels sprouts. Topped it off with a crème brûlée. Only negative is The side Caesar salad wasn't great, didn't have much flavor, maybe just needed more dressing? I had the jalapenos vinegrette and it was to die for! Will definitely go again sometime. To start the wait staff was great. This review reflects the very poor and unprofessional manager on duty, Renetta. When asking a staff member for the managers name they immediately apologized for us having to deal with her. I'd say she needs some customer service training. I ordered tge prime rib. It came out like a thin cut ribeye grilled on both sides. The manager argued with me over the steak and said I don't k ow where you have ordered prime rib but that's how we do it around here. I showed her a picture of the last time I had prime rib and I was told that was rare and she could have them slice me off a piece and not cook it. Bottom line don't order the $62 prime rib. i assume they don't sell enough to not grill it to heat it back up and it appear like a thin ribeye. The ribeye at the table that was ordered was much nicer. However the manager killed the evening with her poor customer service skills. Shouldn't be managing such a nice place. read more

The atmosphere is amazing, large leather chairs and dark stained walls with molding detail everywhere. The food was amazing and the drinks just as satisfying. Ok, first impression was that the place is very pricey. My next thought was.... well, it's like any steak chophouse -- pricey, but if it's good, it's worth the money. I'm carnivore, so I escaped the high dollar sides -- it did come with salad that I ate with only vinegar on it. On to the steak.i order ribeyes because they are fatty, and usually tasty. I judge a ribeye by how much crap I have to cut off and leave on the plate. I lleftnothing but juice here. It was cooked medium rare as I ordered -- and it was seasoned very tasty with lots of butter on top. All in all, I had a very good dinner with a nice red Zinfindel. This is our third or fourth time ti Finns. Its in an odd location but has some surprising features. The dark paneled dining room off the bar is elegant and classic like a classic staek house from a bygone era for the wealthy. However, it's affordable. The main dining room is upscale but approachable, bright and open. And outside is a well heated patio for drinks or dining outside which we like and at times there is live entertainment. We have had mixed results with wait staff, some are not very familiar with the menu and forget some of the basics. all have had a good attitude but our last time she was over worked and could not be as attentive as we would expect. Some items we have had are great and of a quality you would expect in any large metro area or well established. On the other hand they have some menu items we have tried that were surprisingly bad. Clearly steaks meat are Finn's forte. I like the grits and ribs too. They have recently bought out a local bakery and although I have ye too try anything my wife did and seemed to like what she ordered to take home. Finn's runs a little on the higher side but not outrageously so. I would compare its prices to any of the other better restraints in town on pricing and less expensive than the Read Oaks steakhouse at the Indian casino. read more

This place is pretty good, but my 28 dollar meatloaf plus another $9 side was a bit much for what I got in my opinion. You get a side salad which I paid an extra buck for soup which was Gouda broccoli soup and that was good too! My side was torched sweet potato mash which was alright but it was not hot all the way through so a little disappointing. I also got bam bam shrimp as an appetizer and they were a little spicy with jalapeños on slightly fried shrimp in light sauce. Waitress was great and prompt along with funny so we had a good time. And they gave complimentary mini cupcakes out at the end which was super nice! So happy we did. As a concession to me she agreed to sit at the bar. Very good move! The lady behind the bar (Olivia?) was delightful (as was everyone else we encountered). The bar area was also what I enjoy - old school, dark wood, steakhouse bar feel. My prime filet was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The blue cheese dressing on the salad was smooth and not too funky, as some can be. T had the Ahi appetizer and a salad, both of which she loved. We shared the corn brûlée, which was creamy, smoky and delicious. Stayed at a very nice Homewood Suites hotel across the street. Four of us had dinner, we started with the crab and shrimp dip, everyone agreed, it was very good. The salads were good, but nothing special. My husband had the Finns Pork chop, he said it was ok, but had so much sauce on it, it was all he could taste, he didn't care for it and wouldn't order or recommend it again. One friend had the fried walleye, she said it was ok but it had too much breading on it, she wouldn't order it again or recommend it. The other ordered the blackened snapper, it was ok nothing special, wasn't sure if he would order it again. I had the 32nd street pasta, again it was just ok, nothing wrong, just not that great & I would not order or recommend it. I really wanted this to be a special place to go for dinner but after our third or fourth visit here it just hasn't been. I feel it still has potential but we'll wait awhile before giving Finns one more chance. read more
