Tasty baked goods, friendly service, and calm ambience make this a great spot on Main Street to meet up with friends or sit down and enjoy some scones - they even sell home-made dog treats for your furry friend! I personally like to get coffee from next door's Beaten Path Coffee Co. and then get the almond croissant from here. The bright and inviting storefront hides a nice social room in the back. Last time they were hosting a book exchange, and I'm sure it can host a range of other events.

Had to try the new place out in town so we went. Always up for a good cookie. We got the four-pack…read moreso we could try several different ones. We got the churro, waffle, gingersnap, and Twix. Loved the churro, by far our favorite of these four. The gingersnap had a great flavor as well. The Twix was ok. It was a good sugar cookie but just had crumbled Twix on top. If Twix is your favorite candy bar it would not disappoint. The waffle was disappointing. It didn't make me think of waffles when eating it. It just tasted like a plain sugar cookie with waffle marks and a dab of frosting on top to look like butter. I was expecting maybe a maple flavor in the cookie or at least in the dab of frosting on top. All the cookies were decent-sized and soft. Overall we enjoyed the sweet treats. I can see this place doing well here.

The service was friendly and professional, the shop cute, and the format is novel. I know these are popping up all over the US and many people love them but I simply did not like the cookies. We went in with friends who were raving about it and said they went in every week where they live in TX. So I was expecting something amazing. I like a cookie that's a little bit crisp and a little chewy. All the various we bought were thick and cake-like instead of the texture I prefer. I have to say the cookies were all pretty, and the topping was well applied but like a cake, they require a lot of frosting which was too much for me. Most people cut the cookies in quarters because they are too rich. Again, evidence for me that they are too thick, dense, and cake-like. They even sell a four-way cookie cutter for you to take home. To me if a cookie is so rich I have to cut it up in pieces it's too thick and too large. You know how you can bake cookies at home and if you let yourself you could eat a plate of them? Or buy a bag of mini cookies at the gas station, or from the cookie shops in the mall and eat them by yourself? That's how cookies should be to me. Obviously, most people disagree considering how popular this place is. If you're a big fan of cupcakes I think you might love Crumbl. If you like cookies as you bake at home, the way grandma bakes them, at a mall-style cookie shop, or prefer a firmer, crips-edged but chewy inside this might not be your favorite place. But give them a try, they have different flavors every week and clever variations.

The thing is the outsides look great, but most the insides of the buildings are full of crap, and scraps... When we went "on a Friday at 2pm" everything was closed, even the little dinner "not sure it's even functional." Basically you are just here to see a full-scale display of country living from the past in the Midwest. Nothing special for people who grew up living around these kinds of buildings. The location while it was in joplin was located in a repurposed building and made into a tea house as well. They serve a daily selection of sweet pies and other baked goods. I believe on social media they're moving to Carthage and I know for a fact I'll be following them there for more of their incredible pot pies.

Their breakfast is as good as it gets when it comes to cafe food. Their meatloaf is some of the best I've had to be honest. I love their homemade hot rolls they serve with the meatloaf. The hamburger steak is one of my favorites. Their green beans are ok. Probably their weakest side. Their country potatoes are among my favorites. The service is always good. The ladies there work hard and know their customers. It's loud when full of customers, but hey..at least they are busy. It's always clean and they are friendly. Obviously I love this place. If you want great cafe food, then just eat here. Oh, give their baked goods a try. You'll thank me later. :-)

Don't get me wrong the biscuits and gravy were very good, I just needed something sweet after the awesome home style breakfast. Would definitely come back.
