We stumbled across this place when looking for dessert options in Joplin. We did see one review…read moreprior to stopping by that made us wonder if the other reviews were up to date. Unfortunately, we found that the latest review was accurate, the others are not. It appears they renamed this place "Caroline's", possibly. There were not 30+ flavors of ice cream, and the few they did have sadly appeared freezer burned. The coffee set up looked nothing like earlier photos with tons of flavor options. Half the place is a small boutique? The employee was kind.

Instead of candy and a large selection of ice cream, they had boutiques goods, zero candy, and only 8 flavors of ice cream. The ice cream tasted freezer burned. Our children were thirsty (it's almost 90 degrees out) and wanted cups of water to go along with their ice cream but they had no cups. We had to leave and go to a fast food restaurant to get them some water. Before we could leave, a worker rudely accused our five year old of putting his mouth on a notepad that was for sale. We were all watching him and multiple adults never saw him put the notepad anywhere near his mouth. All in all, a very disappointing experience. If you want a sweet treat, go somewhere else.

My wife, the cookie devotee indicated the cookies we tried were very good to her too. You can often tell if we liked a place if we start telling other people to go check it out or want to take our adult children there. We have been bragging about this place for a week and are anxious to go back and try it again. The service was fast and patient with our questions and indecision. There were other items to purchase around the shop like tea towels and gift boxes of treats. I'm always glad to see businesses popping up across Mainst and revitalizing the area. We were slightly uncomfortable with some of the people hanging out on the street in front of the shop, there seems to be a shelter a few doors down. I hope this does not discourage people from coming in. We also like that it's close to the Beaten Path Coffee shop a couple of food down. Where you will find the best hot chocolate I've ever had!

I actually haven't had a cookie I don't like, but I'm partial to the sugar cookie. (Can't remember its name ) My only complaint is consistency, most days it's a large cookie, but sometimes it's small and that makes me sad. Otherwise I suggest everyone goes and gets a cookie!

Wow! We came here after the lunch rush and had a FABULOUS meal!!!…read more We ordered a couple of pork loin sandwiches, a salad, and a butter burger!! Of course, a meal isn't complete without crispy onion rings! We ordered an ice tea, Coke Zero, and a Dr Pepper for our drinks. We devoured all of our food in no time flat! It was fresh and delicious. Our food was made to order fresh and hot. Overall, we had a wonderful time. The restaurant was kept up and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The prices were reasonable for the economy.

Same old frozen fried. And sorry, not a catfish fan. And even that is frozen fried. Nothing beats hand dipped and fried cod fish. Tropicana in Joplin puts out a delicious plate of fish and chips and has been my go to place. Read a review of Culvers fish and chips. Im here to tell you, Culvers puts out an excellent plate of fish and chips. And yes, hand dipped COD! ordered the three piece and have nothing but praise. It was hot, fresh and crispy. All 3 pieces were same size. Coleslaw was very good, tarter sauce matched perfectly to fish. Crinkle cut fries were hot and tasty. And they actually had real lemon wedges versus those messy squeeze packs of fake lemon. I didnt take any chances and brang my own malt vinegar and cocktail sauce to officially make it a feast. I was all smiles from ear to ear as i dined. The restaurant was well staffed with friendly staff. The servers wore matching uniforms and looked cute wearing pony tails. I was so impressed I asked to speak to the manager who I gave a flowing review and congratulated for my wonderful experience. While most food chains are scrambling to stay alive, its no surprise Culvers is winning and expanding. If your lucky enough to have a Culvers near you, give the fish and chips a try
