My wife decided she wanted to try Mythos for her birthday dinner. Made reservations and we arrived ten minutes early. They had a table ready immediately and got us seated. The burata burchetta was nice creamy and flavorful. Between all 5 of us we got the lamb chops which were cooked perfectly and seasoned on point. So tender so good. The Atlantic Salmon was flaky and well seasoned all nicely wrapped up in bacon. Filet medallions were sitting in a nice bed of gravy and cooked to a nice medium. Honey lime chicken was juicy and flavorful. The last thing was chicken Parmesan and it had a nice light crispy crust that broke into a juicy chicken breast. Everything we got was top notch and our waitress was giving us suggestions to try and making sure no one's cup ran dry. It was pricey but we planned for it. I'm pretty sure this is one of the nicer places in town. I was looking for a light dinner and I found out this wasn't a great choice. Everything on the menu seemed heavy or like it was a lot of food. I felt kind of silly getting a gyro platter at a white table cloth restaurant but it seemed like the only thing that wasn't a ton of food. It came with beef vegetable soup. The soup had good flavor and ironically it was a small portion. They probably do that because of how large the entrees are. The gyro platter more than made up for the size of the soup. There was a decent amount of gyro meat and an unfinishable portion of fries. Next time I'm in town, I'll make sure I'm pretty hungry before I pick Mythos for dinner. read more

my husband and I came in for Valentine's Day with a reservation and ended up having to wait, alongside folks who had also reservations. I would like to note the server was fantastic, very sweet and super charismatic. the food was not awful but did not live up to expectation, especially with the price it came with. we were sat in a very tightly packed small room, next to a wall that had old food splatter on it. My sister and brother in law took my parents and I here for lunch before Thanksgiving while we were in town visiting. They're menus differ from lunch to dinner. Our waiter was good, and he suggested one of the 2 dishes that interested me. I enjoyed "The tour of Mythos", which had a variety of Greek items. The meal included a salad, which was great. We also ordered 2 "Spicy feta dip's". Let me say, everyone @ the table went wild over over this appetizer. It was absolutely amazing. Seldom do we walk out of a restaurant before a server approaches our table. Tonight was one of those rare occasions. We arrived on time for our 6:30 reservation. We were escorted to the table with menus and silverware wrapped within the napkin. Upon viewing the other tables with either their menus still on the table, or only water glasses on their table, after 12 minutes without anyone coming to our table, we left. I can't believe this place didn't have a line out of the door. We stopped by the recommendation of several people and we met the owners. They are incredibly kind and down to earth. We each got a plate the portions are just huge. For lunch you can get a big bowl of soup with salad, which is enough for lunch and dinner. The ingredients are fresh and the service excellent. The pricing is a little more expensive compared to the burger place down the street but the food is so worth it. It is real Greek food with a slight twist. We just had the most wonderful dinner! There are enough adjectives to adequately describe how perfect this was! My this brings a whole new star to the world of fine dining! From the moment we arrived to the pretty entry, we felt as if we had traveled to Greece! The hostess greeted us so cheerily, it was such a welcoming beginning. We had a shrimp appetizer that was great. For our entrees, I had the Habanero Ahi Tuba and it was SPECTACULAR! It came with a salad (I chose the Caesar and it was an excellent choice!) creamy risotto that was divine and perfect asparagus and a spicy hollandaise sauce. My husband had the beef medallions with mashed potatoes and asparagus plus the wedge salad. I'm always a little anxious when he orders a wedge salad bc he's picky about fresh lettuce! He said it was the best one he's ever had. His medallions were prepared perfectly to how he likes them! All in all this was a perfect experience. Fine Dining at its best, with fresh linens on the tables changed out between every guest. With warm and inviting decor and Greek murals, plus perfect ambient lighting and music this terrific spot deserves these 5 stars and more. (Did I mention it is locally owned, a family business that truly is a family affair? We spoke with George, the patriarch who was SO kind, as he hurried back to the kitchen! Running a restaurant really isn't for the feint of heart but this family makes it seem like "a piece of cake". Went there last night for our 22nd anniversary. The food was absolutely spectacular. Well worth the money. The restaurant itself had a great atmosphere my only complaint would be the music above our heads was rather loud and you had to talk above it. The people sitting next to us and ourselves ask to have it turned down but it never was. The waitresses we're attentive. But I don't understand it being a Greek restaurant and two of the Greek dishes out of the tree were no longer available. Maybe it's changing the theme. we asked the hostess but she had no idea why he dropped the Greek items off the menu. Let me start by saying I don't like mixed greens. I don't like raw tomatoes, nor feta or cucumber. I decided to get this as is because these are all things my husband likes and figured he could have it. When it came I decided to try it, and I'm so glad I did. This is simply the most delicious salad I've ever had. I know, I'm shocked too. It's all in the owners special dressing. And it turned out to be delicious with everything we dipped in it. Yes I got an extra side of it lol. My husband got the chicken basil sandwich, which he loved. The fries were delicious little wedges. I got the chicken fettuccine, which I didn't love, it was dry and broken, but didn't ruin the overall dinner for me. Also, the chicken was fantastic and had a slight taste of lemon. I have been a Mythos fan since they first opened their doors. It's extremely difficult to select a favorite dish. I also never cared for Tiramasu, but when I mentioned it to Jamie, she brought me one on the house. She was so right! It's the only Tiramasu for me! I suggested going to Mythos to some friends from Springfield. They weren't too sure about it, but fell in love with Mythos and have returned several times. My wife and I used to drive to Joplin from Bella Vista just to eat here. She has passed and I still come 1-2 times a month.

Everything we have tried is amazing and the service is excellent! Be sure and try the strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Stopped here with a friend, when arrived we saw a big Greek building with blue lights - can't miss this building: When you drive on the road:) For appetizers I took the tour of Mythos for 2- Pita was worm, stuffed grape leaves were very good, gyro meet was good - nice and good dish. What an amazing, delightful surprise Mythos was! I was passing through Joplin around noon and had read favorable reviews. Of all cuisines, Greek is my favorite and I'm pretty picky about it. I was hungry and didn't want to miss anything so I ordered the Tour of Mythos at $14.99. Wow! It was amazing!! It's kind of a sampler platter, but instead of having one of each item, there were two of each item. PLUS a large side salad or soup. I chose the Greek salad with the Mythos house dressing. I appreciated having the opportunity to order a village/peasant salad with the traditional vinegar & oil dressing. I also appreciated the quality of the feta and Kalamata olives on my green salad. Not only was there a large amount of food, it was all delicious! The gyro meat tasted freshly carved from the spit. The dolmathes were some of the best I've ever had. And considering I make them, that's a huge compliment. The hummus had just the right amount of garlic (i.e. a lot!) and lemon. Finally, the gal working the carry out orders was exceptionally friendly. So impressed was I after this visit that I stopped there again on my way home. I was disappointed when I tried to order pastitsio and learned they don't make it anymore. I ordered just dolmathes. It was a bit on the spendy side when ordering them à la charge. Three dolmathes were $12.99. I know they are labor intensive to make and they were delicious so it was okay. A huge 5 stars for the lunch menu at Mythos! read more

This place is absolute 5-. Was traveling and asked what on the menu would be similar to Filet Mignon Oscar, or Filet Mignon Chesapeake. Nicholas, the waiter, was outstanding with recommendation and kindness. The food was outstanding, but Nicholas going the extra mile to take care of us after a long day of travel topped it off.
