I'm not seeing enough reviews about the wings! The wings were SO good. They're so smoky and crispy. We also got 4 huge wings for $12 and still had leftovers. Can't complain about the prices at all. There are several things I want to try on the menu. They were busy, but our server Gage was super kind and accommodating. Ordered the margaritas flight (strawberry, original, pineapple and watermelon). They were all delicious. Had the cajun-rubbed wings with a side of home-cut fries. Had to take some home. All that hoopla for nothing. My party of seven was told it would be one and half hour wait because we didn't make a reservation in advance. With many empty tables and long wait, we weren't going to waste time. We were getting in our cars and a server rushed our party out to car and sat us in five minutes. The manager took orders and was very nice, courteous and patient with our ordering. Being an Asian I get a lot of cold shoulders at restaurants where it's predominantly whites. Certainly this would have been the case but I have a change of mind. The service was good. Though chili was way too salty and spicy for my taste. Even my daughter in law and my hubby didn't like it. I ordered a bowl but could not finish eating it. Just... okay. Nothing spectacular. Definitely nothing to write home about. If you're in the mood for decent bar food, and have low expectations - this is your place. Okay, so Gadge was the BEST we have ever had!! He anticipated everything we needed(even down to the drink that paired well with my meal)! I let Mrs. K. do the searching for tonight's dinner and it was a winner. She picked Blackstone to have dinner with our daughter and her roommate. We were warmly welcomed and brought to a table. Our waiter was attentive at taking orders, answering questions and refilling drinks. We started with the charcuterie tray which was a nice mix of cheeses and meats and pickles. Plenty for the carnivores and the vegetarians at the table. My wife had the fish and chips. A big portion of crispy fish and half of it came home. I chose the brisket burger which was a big patty and a thick slice of brisket, upgrading to the mac & cheese for a side. With the big appetizer, half of this also came home and was the next day's lunch. Blackstone has a nice selection of beers and other drinks. We had no trouble picking some delightful frosty adult beverages and enjoyed our evening here. Great service, not too expensive, a lovely meal. I'd return to Blackstone Gastropub! We asked the server and he said she is friends with the owner/kind of a part owner. Blackstone Gastropub in Joplin, been there a few times. However tonight the waiter had excellent service however, we ordered a drink that was not so great. We politely if they could try to adjust the drink. When it came back it basically tasted the same... this time we sent it back and asked for it to be taken off the ticket. The waiter obliged us. The next thing we know some lady named Maddi came out and very rudely asked why we sent it back. Priscilla was trying to answer and Maddi cut her off mid sentence and said she basically didnt have time to listen. The waiter apologized for the bartender who claimed to be an owner of the establishment. I asked to talk to the manager. The same lady Maddi came out and wanted to know what the issue was. Once again we were met with same rude, loud outburst. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This happened in front of a full patio of about 14 people including students, couples and people who saw the first outburst and left, who were from out of town. Before we could finish, she cut us off to give us another snarky comment about how it's winter and it's slow and they close early. Not a nice lady at all. We came here last year for my wife's birthday and the waitress was great. Don't know what happened . Don't know when these new rules changed. Read many positive reviews about this place so decided to stop with family of four. 3pm on a Tuesday was great time as not busy at all. Seated right away. VERY friendly team of folks working there. Food was incredible. Got the fondue to start. **Chefs kiss** Entrees ordered = Fat Mac, The Ozark, Caesar chicken salad, and the sandwich of the month which was a smoked jalapeño meatloaf bacon wrapped. Everything was delicious. I am a fool to have ordered a salad as an entree. I finished off some burnt ends from the Ozark as my son was too full. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The artwork is amazing.
