Good food and service. Not bad for a chain sit down restaurant, my go to menu item is the chicken fried steak!

Surprisingly good experience at a large chain. Wide range of options, including healthier ones like the grilled white fish (pictured). My dad loved the honey butter croissants, which were provided on the house. He ate all three that were brought to the table. Mom ordered the appetizer sampler; it was much larger than we had envisioned. Dad ordered the bourbon salmon, which he enjoyed. The restaurant was busy, but the service was quick and polite enough. The salt water fish tank and plantation-style fans anchored to the ceiling gave the space a certain elegant feel. While we're not from the area, I'd definitely be open to returning. read more

Stopped in for lunch with another couple while on a Route 66 Trip. Found very reasonable prices for lunch and appetizer trio specials. Our server was very helpful in addressing all of our questions. Our food arrived quickly and was all very well prepared. I had the Philly Cheese steak and my wife had the appetizer sampler from which I snatched most of her cheese curds (YUM). All of the food was very tasty, the breaded items were not overly breaded and were nice and crisp. Overall the restaurant was clean and welcoming. If we are ever in the area stop by again. One caution, don't touch the kiosk on the table other than to pay your bill. If you are just curious and touch the game button to see what is available, you are charged for games. I have always been a fan of Cheddars in Joplin. Great service and if something is not right, they go out of their way to correct it and make it right. They come to tables and check in with you to see how things are going. Very friendly staff including manager who came to our table, asked if there was anything he could bring us. I asked them to bring back the onion rings and they did! They do listen and make my experience great. The restaurant is clean, as well as the restrooms. Always ready to go to Cheddars! read more

We stopped in on our family road trip. We were seated right away. We had Soloman and another gentleman as they were training. Both men were very nice and check our order right away, as well as brought everything out in a timely manner. We arrived at 9:15 and had eaten our appetizer and all entrées and we're walking out at 9:45. Super incredible service. The two gentlemen that we're our servers were behind nice and I highly recommend going in an asking for them when you come in! They were both patient and so kind to our crazy kids. I wish we had a Cheddars back home! We ordered Chicken and Shrimp - kids rated 10/10 Homemade pot pie - so delicious and full of flavor The potato soup was the best I've ever had! I had takeout while on a road trip so I can only tell you about the food. I think I went in briefly to use the restroom and get water but nothing major or substantial. Ate here in the afternoon, ordered the same meal I had ordered about 6 months ago, this time the meal was completely sub par, I could only eat half of my stomach and then regretted my decision to eat this meal all night. Waitress was not welcoming and acted as though we were a bother. Wife could not eat her chicken either as the Dijon mustard chicken she got did not taste right. Cheddar's is such a staple in Joplin! My family and I have been coming here since it opened years ago. I've lived on the east coast and now visit from my home in Los Angeles, and it's always such a treat to get to come here when I'm in Joplin! I wish this chain existed on the west coast! We don't have anything quite like it in the Los Angeles area at all. Their prices vs. food quality vs. portion sizes are unmatched! Last night, our dinner was only $48! That included 3 adult entrees, a frozen marg, and an app! Such a steal compared to the prices I'm used to in CA lol! Our go-to app all these years has always been the spinach dip. Served up hot and delish and always includes a side of salsa. The salsa is just blah, but the dip is so warm and flavorful. It maybe took us 3 min to finish this app haha. My sister loves their chicken pot pie. She got it with a "side" salad ... which was nearly the size of a lunch salad at any other restaurant! It wasn't just lettuce and dressing like most side salads. It even had eggs on it as a topping! I got the 8oz salmon. I chose to have it glazed. I could have also done blackened or grilled. It was cooked perfectly! I always worry ordering salmon from restaurants because they tend to overlook the fish and make it too dry but my salmon last night was perfect! It came with a choice of two sides, so I chose the steamed broccoli and sweet baby carrots. Both were perfect on their own without any salt or pepper. PS, my meal was only $13 for that huge size of salmon! Typical restaurants would charge well over $20 for this type of meal usually! My step-dad had the grilled shrimp that were on special. They came with the same glaze as my salmon did and he said they were extremely good. He got the same two sides as me. The complimentary croissants we got at the beginning were AWESOME! That drizzle you see in the pic was honey butter! My step dad was legit trying to steal my sister and I's leftover honey butter with a fork before we could get to it. We ate here a year or so ago and I remember it being much better. Unfortunately we tried it again last night. The only redeeming feature was the croissants. I had the appetizer sampler for my main dish. I make better queso. The spinach dip wasn't good. Idk what it was but the flavor was just off and not like other spinach dips. The chicken tenders were fairly decent. My entire meal was barely lukewarm. My husband had the Monte Christo. It wasn't a traditional Christo, in that it was done inside of a dough and not slices of bread. It was oily and seemed a bit undercooked. Cheddars is a pretty dependable spot. The quality of the experience feels like a big win considering the price. The food was mostly wonderful. The honey butter croissants were definitely something to write home about. Just melted in your mouth. And of course had to get the spinach dip again. The mashed potatoes weren't anything special and if I could go back would have gotten a salad instead of the veggie plate. Food is good but not life-changing. Cheddar's never seems to disappoint. Their spinach dip is my favorite appetizer there. It's so creamy and delicious. The cheese curds are so savory and addicting. During this visit I tried the chicken Buffalo wraps. They were not as flavorful as I was expecting. Seems like most of their dishes pack a big flavor punch but this was just okay. I was not unhappy but I will not order it again. The Buffalo sauce was as flavorful or as spicy as I'd like it and they could have put a little more chicken in these wraps. We come in here every few months, its always busy but we have never had to wait more than a couple of minutes. We like everything we have tried and I like the chips and caso dip with meat (which is a free add-on). Also I like diet Dr. Pepper and so many places serve it flat or too mild and they make it the same way it tastes out of the can. I've had good burgers, salmon, and a few other items. Food is always filling and fair prices. I also like that there is outdoor seating but it's a little close to the free way so you do have some freeway noise if you sit outside. Right next to a hotel and across the street from Sam's Club and near the convention center it's an easy place to get to and convenient to a lot o other places. Sometimes they could do a better job keeping the floor swept because that kind of bugs me when there are little papers and scraps on the flor and in the walkways. Also I try and avoid the back room near the hotel side, its all glass and brick and can get very loud. They often put families back there with kids so if the kids are loud or a baby is crying your meal is going to be impacted. The rest of the place has better sound management. read more

How'd I end up here? It was located in the same parking lot as my hotel and I was very tired and didn't want to drive. Lame, I know. I sat at the bar and had exceptional service throughout my entire visit. I ordered two cherry lime drinks off of their menu and started with the chips and queso. I planned on getting an entree, but I filled up on the app. Their queso is darn good and I really liked it. I wish I had ordered an entree as I was quite hungry an hour later but I was too lazy to go back through the parking lot and order more food. I have to say this Cheddar's has an awesome Kitchen and Restaurant Team. Our server Clarence did an awesome job from start to finish. He was polite, friendly, knowledgeable, kept our drinks full and checked in on us regularly and made our whole dinning experience great. As for the food, that kitchen has it going on. The salad sides came out on Ice cold plates, the veggies were super crisp and fresh, the dressings well chilled. Our entrees were excellent. My wife had the pot pie. Lots of meat and vegetables. Light flaky crust. Great flavor and served piping hot. I had the New Orleans Pasta. It was also served piping hot, great flavor, lots of meat and shrimp and just the right amount of sauce. Comfort food, family friendly, excellent service. Fried chicken and shrimp served with two sides is my personal favorite....out of the five people at my table, four of us ordered same. The broccoli casserole is delicious and your second side is up to you. But if you don't get the broccoli casserole, you're really missing out. Waiter kept our drinks full and the hostess was really good....let me tell you why...I reported to the hostess on my way back to the table that a women's bathroom stall was out of toilet paper. I saw her pass my table and by the time my daughter came out maybe two minutes later, she said there were two people waiting to replenish the paper. I was in town for work. I'm pretty familiar with Cheddars chain being from Texas and it being on every corner almost lol my experience has Always been pretty decent. This visit was nothing less. I was seated in less than 5 minutes on a Tuesday evening. Thanks to Sara, the service was impeccable. Checked on me frequently while I was finishing up some work. As you can see from the pictures attached, I got the half baby back ribs which were delicious, like MEAT FALL OFF THE BONE, delicious. Yea, it was that good... and I'm from Texas(Texas BBQ is second to none, FYI). Lol I also had the shrimp which was decent(can't really mess up shrimp). There was only like 4, but I would personally recommend to add like 4 more. Feels more money-worth. Next on my meal we're the sides - the broccoli cheese casserole was superb and you can't go wrong with Caesar salad. The only reason why I rated my experience the 4 stars is because the honey drizzled rolls failed my standard. If you're familiar with Cheddar's, you probably know about their delicious croissants that get blessed with honey butter drizzle. This time around, it did not pass the fluffiness test and the amount of drizzle that should be there. Could've been the baker or just that's how it is here. The strawberry swirl margarita was pretty good to have after a long Days work. I personally like my margaritas frozen with sugar on top, so this worked out perfectly for me. We don't have a Cheddars in our town I was so looking forward to having dinner at Cheddars in Joplin, Mo. We got there around 4:00 pm waiter was great. He dropped off two croissants. The croissants were dry and tasteless. I ordered an appetizer plate for dinner because I was so looking forward to trying the spinach dip. The dip tasted of frozen spinach from a box. The taste of the spinach was too strong. The sour cream on top did not help it at all. My husband had steak and ribs. He like the steak but said the ribs were over cooked. Over all we will not be back. There are too many other restaurants that do a better job. I will say our waiter did a really nice job! read more
