Handicap friendly! The wait staff was great! They opened the doors for us and helped us to our table. The very sociable and friendly staff made our visit very enjoyable. The environment was a little too noisy. We had to talk loud to hear each other. Tables and chairs are comfortable. We ordered the Eggs Benedict with Salmon and the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes to share along with coffee and Cranberry Juice. The Eggs Benedict are just right for 1 person but are too small to share. The combination of Salmon, Hollandaise, and Ciabatta Toast work well together. The pancakes were huge! The 2 pancakes completely covered the large plate they were served on. The marinated strawberries and lemon custard were fantastic! The pancakes were very fluffy because of the whipped Ricotta cheese added to the batter. Our waitperson did not know the Ricotta was in the pancake batter. She thought it was in the lemon custard. She also forgot to add potatoes to our order. She was still very friendly, helpful, and eager to please. We enjoyed our visit and intend to go back to try some other dishes like their Million Dollar Bacon and Biscuits and Gravy. read more

First Watch first timer. I would give it a 7.5 out of 10 rating for the first visit. I would describe the pancake as average. They are large but a bit on the dry side for my taste, however the syrup elevates the pancakes to an above average rating when applied. A big let down was the chicken sausage patty that APPEARED to be processed in some way. IT was very unappetizing to me. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE was very friendly and accommodating. They received a 9 of 10 rating. I will definitely try the lunch next time and the breakfast again. read more

The atmosphere in this place is fantastic, and the front of house staff is incredible. It's a shame the food wasn't great. I tried the elevated egg sandwich, the X pattern of the bacon was awkward, the avocado was bland, I couldn't find the egg until the yolk started dripping under the awful cheese. The dominant flavors were arugula and store bought hamburger bun. The side of potatoes was 50% under cooked potato 50% burnt scrapings from the pan. Don't even get me started on how bad this coffee is. However their morning meditation juice was very refreshing. On my third visit at this location, the service really disappointed me again. The first two times we thought it was just new staff learning the system. This was not the case months later, I will not be back. They need to find a better way to organize the wait staff. They do not have a designated host, so we stood there for 5 minutes being ignored. Then we were sat by a random waiter that never came back. They desperately need a front of house manager that knows how to organize wait staff. We waited 15 additional minutes at the table without any acknowledgment. No one came to give water or take an order. I tried flagging someone down, they would not come to the table. This was beyond frustrating. Never going to come back. They have decent food, but the service is so terrible you may never even get to order it. Every time we have been the service has sucked and each time seemed worse than the last. They were not that busy. Just did not care. read more

I received unsatisfactory service at this particular location. We sat at our table for 10 minutes before anybody decided to greet us and that wasn't until they saw me get up and walk to the front. I still wasn't aware of who my server was for about 5 more minutes. Once I finally ordered, it took about 20 more minutes for my food to come out. I only ordered one entree, which was the Tri-Fecta, and that shouldn't have taken that long to prepare. I also took notice of the wait times and service with other guests. Before I left the establishment, I notified the manager of my experience and she seemed to be quite clueless of what to do with the situation. When both my wife and I unwrapped our silverware, they were dirty. Not just spotty, but actually greasy. You could smear the grease with your finger! I grabbed a couple more sets of silverware, and they were no better. A spoon actually had a piece of something green stuck to the back. And we weren't the only ones: we saw women at another table inspecting their silverware, and they too went to find some more. At that point we gave up and found the cleanest forks among the ones we had collected, and wiped them thoroughly. I ordered the skillet hash. It looked good, and the "home-fried" potatoes had good flavor, which many diner-joints don't achieve. But the dish was swimming in oil! I would expect the bottom of a plate with fried food to be greasy--that's what frying is, after all. But this one had a puddle of oil! If you tilted the dish, the puddle sloshed to the low side. I ate of it sparingly, knowing that too much oily food has bad effects on my alimentary tract, to put it politely. I've had better luck at Denny's. read more

We were looking forward to trying First Watch for the first time this morning. We arrived to the restaurant that was not too busy, and was promptly seated in a section that was empty. The hosts were quick to grab a high chair for our toddler as well which was great. We were excited to try some of the menu items as the options looked delicious. Then we sat for about 15-20 minutes without any service. We had a few servers glance our way; however, no one tended to our table. Maybe miscommunication on who would be serving certain sections? My husband asked a host to see if there was a server to wait on us as every table around us was sat after us and served before us. Afterwards a very reluctant and unempathetic waiter came over to take our drink order. 2 minutes later we cancelled our drink orders and walked out. Needless to say we left very disappointed, and with a hungry toddler. We hope in the future this would be resolved as we really looked forward to trying First Watch on Westheimer. read more

Me and my father walked in and it looked very nice and not too crowded for a Sunday morning, when we were seated we wait 10 minuets for someone ANYONE to come around yet there was no one , and we ended up asked from a server . When the head host realized we hadn't had our ordered taken he proceeded to take our order then I guess The assigned waitress came and took over , after wait 30 ish minute we were told the kitchen was backed up so we wait patiently when our food came out it was just my order and we waited another 15 minuets for my dads food . The food ended up being pretty good but the service was definitely not worth another trip down here . Update : 7/16/2019 I decided to give this place another shot , me and boyfriend walked in and were seat right away and I want to point out the service has greatly improved and the food was still delicious as before ! We had been to First Watch on three previous occasions, and had enjoyed the food and service. We went there June 23, around 10:40, and had a different experience. First off, a large party of 25 had been seated outside, so the kitchen was very busy. So of course, in rushing to get food out, things are missed, and mistakes are made. First, it took over 45 minutes for our food to arrive. My wife's bacon had areas that were not totally cooked. Not soft, but tending towards uncooked, so that had to be sent back. I ordered a chorizo omelette, but what arrived was an vegetarian omelette, which I went ahead and kept, as I was starving. My blueberry pancakes had not been throughly cooked, so there were uncooked areas inside. I kept those as well. My wife's English muffin was warmed, but not toasted at all. The service was fine, though the server was harried. So not a great experience, which made me sad. read more

So, another day for a review. If I could I do a NO star review, I would. I'm not sure of other locations, but this one has the poorest customer service I've experienced in a long time. The waiter we had seemed as though he was high as he lacked comprehension. This was apparent after my food came out wrong, and he admitted to entering it wrong. This is also with him not checking if we needed more beverages or anything. When I asked for a manager, I got one, named Kai (not sure of spelling). I'm finding it hard to believe any establishment would put this guy to represent them. He showed no empathy, and he provided no comfort. He acted as though the food was complementary, so how dare I have anything negative to say. Again, I don't know about other locations, but perhaps the folks at First Watch at least send Kai to check out Ambriza's to see what REAL customer service is in the restaurant business. read more

Everything was great. Food was was hot and fresh with good sized portions. Morning meditation was great. Eddy was our server and was phenomenal. The only thing that put a bad taste in my mouth was one of the host. She was rude and had attitude in her tone, not only towards me and other guest but the other host. It seemed one host was having trouble checking people out. The rude host came over to help but just seemed to be rude and disrespectful towards her coworkers and other guest. I work in the service industry and just started yelping but that's not how you treat someone in front of other guest, i believe her name was denise or desire, at least thats what i thought another guest had called her. Great breakfast lunch spot! We were greater by a very friendly host who actually spoke to us!! Nice change from the robots who "ask how many? and follow me." Tables are large and set for coffee and water. Server was nice and gave us time to look at the menu. Menu is great I had the Trifecta which was eggs, pancake or waffle and meat. The perfect way to try all three things I wanted on one plate. Food came out in about 15-20 minutes and was good and hot! Pancakes were yummy and fluffy and syrup was hot too nice touch. First experience at a First Watch was at the Westheimer location. I got the waffle with a side of bacon and my significant other got the biscuits and gravy with a side of potatoes. We like our waffles, bacon, and potatoes crispy so we ordered them that way. The waitress seemed confused on the request, as if she'd never heard of anyone liking crispy food. She wasn't sure how to write it down and eventually settled on "well done" which should work fine. While the potatoes looked a bit crispier than others that came out around us, I wouldn't say that any of those foods were actually crispy. We were disappointed in that. The waffle, however, was tasty and the syrup is served warm, which I appreciate. We are very picky about biscuits and gravy and these were better than anticipated. Gravy could've used more salt, though, and it was barely warm. With warmer temperatures, extra salt, and maybe some green onions on top...we'd order this again. We won't be in a rush to return here, but if a friend suggests we go, I wouldn't decline. read more
