Casual neighborhood French bistro with lots to offer. Staff is always nice. Manager is super nice patient and helpful. I forgot her name, she's an Asian lady. Always ready to help with a smile on. The food is yummy and portions are good. Although I must admit my weakness for the linzer cookies is unmatched. They're soooooo good!! Been patronizing this location for years and will continue to do so. If you're in the area, it's worth a shot.

I order a Caesar salad on line and the lettuce was old, soft and hardly any green. Half the salad has brown/white edges of the iceberg lettuce. The croutons were stale and hard. See picture below I

Bonjour. I am watching the 2022 FIFA world cup France vs Poland. Here is the cheapest French restaurant for me.lol. I ordered French coffee. Just like French soccer is the best, the coffee is the best. La Madeleine stop giving the customer complimentary French bread. I am so sad. Whenever I go to the bathroom, I have to learn some French words. Merci!

La Madeleine was a favorite for the less-adventurous and smaller-budgeted high school hangout nights as well as a quick after-church lunch. And while I haven't dined there in awhile, I will always have a sweet spot for that endless bread and jam and will remember their tomato basil soup as the first memorable soup I listed as my go-to choice at a restaurant. The strawberry and spinach salad is also delightful. If I didn't have a policy of not eating salads outside my own home, I'd eat more of it. But the reason I write today is to talk cake. So let's talk about this Sacher torte. It's a three-layered chocolate cake dipped in vanilla syrup with layers of raspberry jam, topped with chocolate mousse and ganache. The whole torte comes with 10 slices pre-sliced and the price is I think less than the price of 8 individual slices. I seem to remember $45 or $48 as the price, and it's worth every penny. It's also nice that with so many locations, you are likely to be able to find a whole torte without having ordered it ahead of time. A huge plus for a busy week. ==== I'm starting this set of reviews for cakes around town - please feel free to send me recommendations to try!

This is a chicken, Caesar sandwich and delicious!

The atmosphere, the food and the employees are nothing but kind. I highly recommend this place.

I love going here because it's quick and I sometimes crave it. I always get the same thing here even though I keep telling myself to try something new, oooops. I always order the cafe sampler because you can order a soup, a salad, and half of either a quiche or chicken friand. It's a pretty good deal in my opinion! Chicken friand (3/5) idk if it's just this location or because I haven't had La Madeline in a while but it tasted a lot different this time. The mushroom sauce was still good but the pastry itself tasted a little off to me. Cranberry and pecan salad (3/5) this salad was good but I think I needed more dressing on it, but that's just me (I like a good amount of dressing on my salads) but the pecan and cranberry balances everything out and makes the salad good! I also added feta cheese to it and made it so much better. Tomato basil soup (5/5) I don't get this soup anywhere else because I only like it from here Service (5/5) the service here is awesome! The manager went out of her way to get me feta cheese from the back. Everyone was just so nice! One of the main reasons why I'm giving four stars.

Decided to dine in on my day off. I ordered a turkey sandwich with pesto pasta and it was delicious as it has always been. The restaurant was clean and very spacious. My food came out fresh and promptly. I don't come here often but when I do I don't regret it.

I have to share something. I've been going to this place for more than one year. Every Monday with my friend's dad who is 98 years old. Every time we order the same thing. This week after afew times noticed that every time my bill and price is different, I asked for the reason. The manager told me that at the time that bill is less, was the mistake of cashiers. I asked that my order is always the same. And showed her that on the menu's list the price is my soup for first cup is $1.29 and the second one $2.99. She said yes, But if you want the two soup for yourself. But we know that one of the soup is for your friend!!!!!! I can't believe that. Instead give him the senior discount!!!! They know bringing him inside that restaurant takes 20 minutes. I think they should honor him to their resturant.

A nice place to eat breakfast or brunch. Their pastry selection looks yummy even though I cant eat any of it. Their food is always fresh.

Quantity is much less than before. Pesto pasta is the size of a kid bowl now. They used to fill the plate with good amount of food for $14. Do not order because the amount is totally different from when you eat there

So far, this is my favorite la Madeline spot, mostly because I like how this location doesn't do the cafeteria system like many other la Madeline's. The food is alright, but I appreciate that everything is always served hot or cold when it needs to be and the employees are, for the most part, very welcoming. Because this is located at the Energy Corridor, near where 3 schools are, the place can get super noisy with all the kids and teens running around, or employees from nearby companies coming in for their breakfast/lunch/dinner. So I don't recommend coming here to work or study. If you are meeting up with friends and you happen to be in the area, this place can be good for you.

Potato soup to go, the top is the cheese and bacon bag it comes with
    Yaniv B.

While I don't think the food matches up to many of the high end French places in houston, I think for the price it is superb, and their quality is so consistent, its nearly impossible to replicate in other chains. The potato soup is one of my wife's favorites, and is our go to when she isn't feeling well. They package it well to go, its always so delicious and comforting, and never had a bad batch. I love how filling and flavorful this soup is, and can't help but drench some of that fresh sliced bread in it! We also ordered the chicken friand which is one of our favorites. This is a dish that is definitely much better eaten at the restaurant than taken home, but on this occasion to go was our only choice. It's nice and flaky, the chicken is well flavored, the mushroom cream sauce its served with could literally be drank fresh straight out of the container. I love this dish! Lastly we got the chicken Caesar salad, which is another one of our regular dishes. The chicken is moist, well flavored, and never gummy. The dressing is creamy, not fishy, and liked by anyone who ever tries it, and the croutons and Parmesan are good enough to hold up the rest of the dish, albeit not as good as some other places.

    Lip stick stain mimosa glass.

La Mad never disappoints but unfortunately this location did. Food was decent, however, service was a huge let down. First, I was put in an awkward position when I was in line and the cashier was arguing with a customer. Then, I received a dirty glass with an obvious lipstick stain printed on it for my mimosa-didn't get an apology for that either when I got up to exchange it. And the list goes on. This is a closer La Mad for me but after this experience I probably would do much better going to a different location.

Inside you will also find French pastries, coffees and teas, gelato, milkshakes, sandwiches and macaroons. I felt the most interesting items were the French pastries as they are cute and tasty as well. Also, they plate the pastries nicely when you dine in as an added bonus. I tried the Chocolate Royale and the Ruby. Chocolate Royale - a petit chocolate mouse slice with flat chocolate panels along the sides. It is delicate and tasty. If you're a chocolate lover, this is definitely up your alley. Ruby - visually this looks like a strawberry Hershey kiss, with red powder on the exterior and a top piece of foil to resemble foil on the wrapper of a hershey kiss. Inside, it's filled with a strawberry cream and has a chocolate base. I just wish there was more chocolate in this one. They have plenty of seating inside as well as along the sidewalk. Inside you have the more fancy tables, whereas outside, they're more weather resistant and not as upscale in appearance. The soft drinks to drink along with your sweets are in a cold case along the hotel side of the space and you just take them to the register as you order. One of the most surprising things when you come here are the relatively affordable prices as you might expect them to be more for being a coffee shop attached to a 5-star hotel with a helipad.

What's nudged this place up to 5 stars for me is they have really improved their coffee game, specifically their quality of cappuccino's. Previously it seemed more of latte, but now to me its a legit Capp. Their choice of pastries hasn't changed, which gives you a good assortment of choices and they have added an additional barista or server which also is a nice touch for service. The only niggling items, parking can be tough, so you'll have to either walk a block or be quick to find a place close by. Regardless, definitely give this place a go to come for a pastry and coffee.

This spot is truly a gem. I did not think I would be able to find a Japanese-owned, small…read morebusiness/pastry shop in Texas but we are lucky to have Chez Kobayashi Pastries in Houston! This store is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall so there is plenty of space for parking. The inside has a good number of seats and tables for customers to sit down and enjoy. There is also an area that has children's books- in both Japanese and English! I was thrilled to see some of the books that I grew up with. The glass display showcases a variety of different pastries and sweets. There is also a separate menu above for sandwiches, crepes, and quiches! I was indecisive so I asked the owner for recommendations and she chose the Mont Blanc and Total Raspberry Tart. Both pastries were perfect- the tart has a raspberry cream on the bottom and the fruit was fresh and naturally sweet. Not to mention, the crust was absolutely delicious. The Mont Blanc was just as tasty. The chestnut puree, Chantilly cream, and crust were all *chef's kiss* And the best part of it all is that the pastries were not too sweet (for those of you who are new to Asian pastries, they are meant to be lighter and not overly sweet)! While my friend and I were enjoying the pastries, I was able to have a brief conversation with the owner and she was incredibly welcoming and kind. Overall, I was thrilled to be able to finally try Chez Kobayashi Pastries and I can't wait to come back and try their savory dishes! ごちそうさまでした‍
