Four of us brunched at First Watch on a recent Sunday morning, and having basically zero expectations I left quite disappointed. On a positive note, we received great service from our server, Brandon. What really irked me about this place was that it was painfully obvious that they were really watching their margins in the ways that they skimped on key ingredients. Examples: The bacon was thin, thin, thin. $6 for four slabs of econo-brand bacon. We ordered a bloody mary and a vodka kale tonic and there was so little booze that I was convinced that it was forgotten altogether. I ordered salmon eggs benedict and by my best estimation was served 2oz of salmon with my meal. To prove a point, I put all of the salmon on my fork: there was basically one good bite of lox. Came here with my boyfriend expecting The Egg & I (which was our breakfast go-to because of how quickly we were served and the quality of the food) and were a bit disappointed to see it has now become First Watch. The food itself was okay, and we were seated pretty quickly and got our food within 10 minutes. We both kept it simple and ordered the traditional breakfast-- my scrambled eggs were fairly dry and weren't as fluffy as I would have liked, and while the turkey sausage was tasty, the bread was way over-buttered and the homefries/potatoes were undercooked on the inside, slightly burnt on their outside and under seasoned in my opinion. I would give the meal itself a 2/5, but they got an additional point for how quickly we got our food! read more

Food is pretty good, nothing crazy special but good and filling. There is enough variety for everyone in the family to be happy. Our service was pretty good, waters stayed filled, coffee was refilled when needed, etc. My 3 star review is because on our last visit, we were verbally harassed by another guest (who I believe may have unfortunately had a mental illness) who left on her own accord but I'm not confident the restaurant would have removed her or done anything if she hadn't left, and the staff was not apologetic at all for our experience. (The other guest told (yelled at) my husband that he was abusing our child (barely 1 year old) because he was patting him on the back and bouncing him.) It made us highly uncomfortable and we finished our meal in silence as quickly as we could and we felt embarrassed (even though we did nothing wrong). The staff who witnessed it just kind of stared at her until she left and then kind of laughed and shrugged it off. It was as just kind of unfortunate and left a bad taste in my mouth. This place is so poorly run. They are always understaffed and the waiters are having to bus tables on top of everything else. After this last time we are done trying to come here. This morning we waited 15 min before someone even came over and that was after we let the hostess know no one had been over. Then we waited another 15 min before we got our drinks. We never got even water. Then we waited about and hour with no food in sight. I don't think our waitress even put our order in and we asked other waitresses to find her and she avoided us. After over and hour we got up and left. They continued to seat people as if everyone was running smoothly. We had never been to First Watch and decided to give it a try. There was a 20 minute but this was expected since it was a Saturday morning. We spent the time looking over the menu. Things started off good as the waitress came to the table right away . We immediately ordered since we had already looked over the menu. We noticed the prices seemed a bit high so we assumed the portion size would be good, we were wrong. After about 20 minutes our food arrived, we were both a bit surprised by the small portion size. The waitress dropped off the food and immediately walked away without saying a word. We had French toast and a pancake (yes singular??). You would think syrup would be a no brainer but it wasn't. The food was fairly cool when it arrived. We couldn't find our waitress for about five minutes, by the time we got syrup everything was cold. I'm tired of hearing the "COVID" excuse about staffing. Short staffing shouldn't mean cold food and bad service. We won't be returning. read more

Good breakfast spot with patio seating shaded even around 1pm. They seem to have a decent variety of options and overall the food tasted light and fresh. My daughter had French Toast which was nothing to rave about just okay. She was hoping for some special options which they didn't have. My son had traditional breakfast with no complaints. Pancake was good not being overly sweet. The chikichanga was tasty with good flavor, and the potatoes were cooked just right with some crisp. This is our 2nd time here at this restaurant. 1st time was Mother's Day which they were packed they said it would be an hour wait but 3 hours to get food. (we didn't stay) Here right now for the second time took forever well over an hour to get French toast and eggs Benedict. Literally I think they were trying to choke the chicken in the kitchen. The restaurant is not even half full it shouldn't take this long ever to get food. HORRIBLE! I would give this place zero stars but making me give at least one. Won't be coming here a 3rd Time. Came here with my mom not too long ago for a late breakfast. It wasn't super busy but the service was really slow. We ordered alcoholic drinks and mine came out wrong but we still ended up paying for it. The food was pretty good but took quite some time to come out and my blueberries had mold all over them /: I think this place has a good menu and potential to be good, but could use some work. The bacon on the menu looked so crunchy and delicious, but when it came out it was super soggy and floppy, which didn't resemble the yelp photo that the company posted of the bacon at all. We went here today for the first time. There were three of us. Everyone really liked their choices. We got a Belgian waffle, French toast and Frittata Rustica. Practically inhaled (don't judge I was home) the Huevos Rancheros Tostada the other morning. I loved it! I used curbside pick-up. The HRT and Kale Tonic (minus the alcohol) was perfect. I will be back try the other new items on the menu. All proper PPE was in order and that place was spotless. They have curbside indoor and outdoor dining. Some of the best service I've had in a restaurant! Van was our server and made sure everything was great. He was incredibly nice and fun! We had the traditional breakfast and the bananas foster French toast and they were great! I highly recommend the pork sausage. Quality Depends on Day and Time of Day I wish this were still The Egg & I, First Watch management could have learned a lot before they converted this location into a noisy, can't-cook-eggs-to-order corporate restaurant. If you go M - F around noon or one, you'll likely be pleased. However, weekends and holidays, forget it, unless you like loud, slow, and mediocre over-priced coffee. Sorry, I've gone to this location for years, and today was my last - had to 'find' my order, food not hot, forgot the hot tea, but didn't forget to bill for it, no water service, poached eggs not as ordered, saw the wait staff twice to take the order (finally) and to deliver the check. Unfortunately, the fantastic location, gorgeous exterior and decor of the building negates my experience here. When we took family out of town here, After waiting anxiously for a table, instead of the hostess greeting us, she simply said, "Any kids?" Once we were seated, we waited fifteen minutes and made eye contact with several waitresses. I finally had to walk to the hostess stand and request a server. After our server came, we were greeted with laughter versus anything apologetic.We waiting an additional 10 minutes for our non alcoholic beverages, we ordered and waited another 45 minutes for our food. After walking to find the server after not being checked on, we finally received our food. Stone cold, warm plate, rock hard English muffins and hollandaise riddled with cleaning agents, I requested a manager follow up with our table. Though she tried to make the best out a bad situation and was apologetic, one of my guests requested a box and that was forgotten. Management offered to make us more entrees and pay for our inedible meal, and gave us 4 $20 dollar gift cards. Cold food, waited wayyyy too long and watched atleast 4 other people get their food even though we got there before them. Found a hair in my food at the end and actually gave back the $80 in free credits the manager gave us. Ally didn't care and probably needs some lessons on how to be a successful waitress. This is an update: I was finally contacted by a regional manager. He was apologetic and pleasant. He explained that he made changes with the manager and some waitstaff. Then invited us to visit again. We did return this past Sunday. We didn't mention the past experience. We called ahead but that didn't really help. After about a 15 min wait at the door were seated. Normal wait on a Sunday midday for most places. Alex was our server. She was great. The food came out quickly and correct. She was attentive and friendly. I really wanted to be able to report a better experience than I actually had. The menu looks fantastic and the interior design is great. However, the wait to be met at the front was a little long. The waitress was super friendly but got one of our orders wrong. So having said all of that, I'm coming back and recommending it to friends. The food is delicious. Mistakes are sorted out quickly. 01/26/2020 - Went to First Watch for the first time this morning. Confused as to why they only currently 2 1/2 stars right now. The first thing I noticed was the remodel. It was nicely done and I really like what they did with it. Very open and extremely clean. The service was really good and our server didn't miss anything. Did feel a bit rushed by her. No line at the door or anyone waiting for a table. That would be only thing I would be critical about if anything. The food was a really good and everyone in our party enjoyed what they had. We live in the area and will be back again. I would recommend giving them a chance despite the current 2 1/2 star rating. We don't know anyone that works there or associated with them. Unfortunately, we won't be back to this restaurant. There were too few servers, and we overheard that the kitchen was backed up. But it took over 30 minutes to get our food, then when we did, it wasn't great. The bacon appeared to be reheated in the microwave, and the egg was dry and looked unappealing. Our toast wasn't ready, so we had to wait another 10 minutes for that. In the time during the 30+ minute wait, our server didn't check on us or give us any updates. When asked twice how things were and we told them "okay" because it wasn't a great experience, no one asked why or offered anything to make it up. It seemed like everyone was in slow motion and no updates were being given if there was a reason for them falling behind. I will say that the bread is good, and clearly homemade, but everything else was subpar. Hopefully this place can turn it around! read more

Very cute restaurant, horrible food and worse service. The wait wasn't bad to get a table. That's about the only positive. We waited 10 mins for a server to come to our table to take our drink order. Waited another 10 mins to get two coffees and water. We placed our order at this time. We waited 60 mins from when we placed our order to receive our food. Both plates were cold. I mean the butter wouldn't even melt cold. Everything on the plate was cold. The manager was rude and rushed. She didn't even care. Just tried to give us two gift cards. Not to remake the inedible food. We will definitely NOT be back. I would give zero stars if I could. I try not to bash business but this was ridiculous. We were out and about and decided to stop for breakfast on a late Saturday morning. We pulled up nearby breakfast places on maps and decided to give this place a try. On the way over I saw the reviews and was not impressed. I read a few to my husband and we sat in the car out front wondering if we give it a shot or pass. We had a great experience at this breakfast place. Food was fresh, hot and the blueberry pancakes were unbelievable! Very satisfying organic meal. This is the third time we've been here because we live in the area. We had the sweetest and most attentive server. I'm shocked at some of the reviews because this is no different than any other breakfast place. They are usually busy and noisy. Pretty disappointing, I tried this place that everyone said was just as good if not better than Egg and I. Had the Elevated Breakfast Sandwich which was "OK" but nothing to write home about. The worst part was the side of breakfast potatoes, which were gross, salty and mushy. They had no crispness at all like breakfast potatoes do. The service wasn't really good either, I waited approx 10 minutes before anybody came by. I think this is a one and done place, which is unfortunate since HR can use some good places. RIP.
