First it has taken 1/2 hour to order. The coffee tastes like water with a little coffee flavor. Then when we order real butter on toast and grits, The server informed us there is no real butter in the house. Came back to tell us they don't know what the seasoning is in the potatoes. I'm allergic to Rosemary, but can't tell me what's in it. There menu says fresh squeezed daily juice, so I order fresh squeezed oj and she tells me it is not squeezed fresh here. Omg! Great waitress and excellent food. However, I used their mobile payment option to pay, and the default tip amount is 22%. They had two other tip default options that you can select -- 20% & 25%. Otherwise you have to go to the manual option to pay something else. We all know that the entire tipping thing in the US is out of control, but it's now to the point of asinine. I would have paid 20%, but after they essentially attempted to push me into paying a generous tip between 20%-25%, I said no. I chose the manual option and tipped 15%. Going forward, I think for meals that I am served, I'm going back to a default 15%. For food where I have to go up to the counter to order and they bring it to me, 8%. And for a cup of coffee at Starbucks, go pound sand. read more

Came here for lunch with some friends. We all tried a different version of the eggs Benedict. I like the ambience of First Watch. Our server was friendly. My friends and I had a nice lunch. I like that they put a pot of coffee on the table for everyone. There were so many different things on the menu that I would like to try. I had the salmon Benedict and it was pretty good! First off, the service was awesome!! Brittney was our server and she was great. She had a really nice personality and made some great recommendations about what we should order from the menu. We ended up ordering the chicken pesto quinoa bowl and the chili chorizo omelette with a pancake to accompany it. What we didn't realize was that they can do specialty pancakes so we ordered a chocolate chip pancake with bacon and cheese. It was the perfect blend of sweet and savory. Our meal was absolutely delightful, and Brittney made it a dining experience to remember. We'll definitely be back. We ate here before at the Gilbert location and it was great. We were driving home from Glendale and my kid ordered from your website, after selecting the Gilbert location on Yelp. We called immediately when he saw that it had done that after purchasing. The people at the store told us they could not refund us and we had to do it ourselves on your site which was not possible. Please fix your website so it doesn't REROUTE from the location we select on Yelp to whichever is closest. We had to drive an extra HOUR because the store your site put us at was far and they couldn't refund us or reroute the order to our neighborhood restaurant. We had to drive BACK to the Phoenix location on Black Canyon. Would not do that again. read more

I showed up and the boy at the front greeted me and asked if I was there for a pickup, they had it sitting on the table labeled "Phone-Pickup". They have tables listed for just about anyway you can order from them, wether it's over the phone, DoorDash, Grubhub, etc. I ordered the traditional breakfast , when I brought it home which is about 10 minuets away it was still hot and yummy! They cooked the eggs exactly how I asked. I ordered the coffee black and it was excellent. 4 Stars average? This proves not all locations are the same, and how standards have lowered. We were sat at a table quickly, which was nice. That's where our pleasant experience ended. The waiter complained that we were in his section. The service was slow. We had biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were dry, and the food came out at different times (cold eggs). My wife didn't eat her meal. Beyond the food being crappy, it was the lack of service that really aggravated us. The ticket was $40, and for that you could at least get warm food and smile. Sad, since now is crunch time for restaurants. If you serve $20 breakfasts that aren't worth $5, you won't make it. Don't see for yourself, just pick another place. read more

The only reason I'm rating @ a 5 is due to Collin, & the amazing food that was had! - Tasha however had a very unpleasant attitude when arriving all due to requesting a booth instead of a table built for a toddler (my boyfriend is a little heavier set & just does better in a booth) then the smaller tables. It was pretty empty @ the time so there was really no need for eye rolling & the quick walk like it was a big bother - again thankfully for collins service it turned our whole overall experience absolutely amazing!! Found this place during a 30+ min wait at a another restaurant just up the road...getting hangry, we looked on Yelp for another close-by breakfast joint and was pleasantly surprised how awesome First Watch is! First off, the inside of the restaurant still has that "new car" feel where everything from the decor to the utensils is clean and not dingy or worn out. Both times I have been here (we went back within a week) the hash browns are better than most diners as they not only put onions in there, but they caramelize them so they have a slight burnt taste to them...very yummy! The eggs are also plentiful and I don't believe they charge extra for egg whites, a huge plus! I only have 2 very minor complaints: 1. They have really good coffee that isn't bitter or too acidic, but they almost ruin it with those little International Delight coffee creamers (vanilla, hazelnut and half and half)...would like to see real half and half served. 2. The butter on toast has an interesting appearance to it. While it taste good, it has the color and texture of non-fat butter as it doesn't really melt, it kind of just sits there, on the bread. But other than that, glad we found this place and will definitely be one of our regular go-to breakfast spots in the East Valley. read more

So, I never understand having to wait when there are very obviously tables available. It really irks me. Ok, wait 5-10 minutes to be seated in the same seats that were available when we walked in. There isn't a number of people waiting to be seated or anything. At least they have cold lemon water available. I will admit the food was delightful our first trip here. It was especially delightful this time. Certainly worth the 5-10 minute wait for me! We had better seating this time as well. In the booth I felt the atmosphere was open and farm-esque. I decided on the market skillet and a side of millionaire bacon. Admittedly, I expected a bit of a punch from the cayenne although I couldn't identify it. I like the spice much more then others though so, another person may taste it. The skillet? Awesome! The veggies were cooked great and weren't just a pile of soggy mush. The goat cheese was a perfect amount to cut with some tang. My over easy eggs yoked perfectly and I didn't have to add any salt. Now, the Man was undecided between an omelette and a Benedict. He went with the Benedict and was not impressed with the smoked salmon. He didn't make a mention to our waiter that he found it a bit fishy for his liking so, we can't comment on how they would have handled it. I had a small taste and though it was fishy I think it may have simply been the process in which it's smoked. My portion was large for me. I ate it all up. I would do it again in a heart beat. Went here for the first time today and we all loved it. Great food, service was done well and their response to an issue was quick and well done. The chocolate chip pancake on the kids menu is huge. Three of the four us had breakfast, but at 12:30 I had to have lunch, I ordered the Ham & Gruyere cheese melt, it was perfectly done. Flavors are fantastic and since they had originally brought out the omelette they had to turn it around and they did so quickly. My wife ordered the omelette and I ordered directly after her, I think the server heard what I said as omelette instead of melt. No problems, all was handled very well. The other two people had the million dollar breakfast sandwich and the Bacado omelette and according to them both were fantastic. I got the quesobarria quesadilla with hollandaise sauce. It was delicious. Food and location: I had set my appointment through their app. Even though I had set it about a half hour before when I arrived, I still probably waited another 10 or 15 minutes. No big deal but total time is probably like 45. The food was really good and I would go back. I enjoyed it. One minor thing is they put us by a door and every time the door opened it was just a crazy blast of heat. But again, I like this place. read more

A must visit when in Phoenix or Mesa. Both locations are perfect. Every time I come in town I eat here. I would recommend making reservations as it's typically always full and you may have a wait. I woke up craving bacon so I was on a mission to find the best bacon in town. I definitely think I found it with the million dollar bacon- it definitely lives up to its name! The little drizzle of syrup really hit the spot. I ordered the trifecta that came with a side of regular bacon and it tasted so sad compared to the million dollar bacon. The trifecta also came with a Belgian waffle. It was perfect- a little crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. Our waiter was awesome! He was very attentive and helpful. I would definitely come back here. We were told the wait was about 20 minutes but ended up waiting about five. read more

Me and my girlfriend go here pretty much every weekend. The service is always great and the food is consistently high quality. My favorite dish is the Trifecta with the Belgian waffle. The Belgian waffle is incredible, it's probably the best waffle I've ever had. The taste is just perfect, and with the butter and syrup it makes for just the right amount of sweet without feeling too rich. Another thing I really like is the little side of jam they give you with the waffle, it tastes just like the IHOP strawberry syrup (which as far as I'm concerned is the only thing good about IHOP nowadays) and so you get the best of both worlds. I see myself going here often for the foreseeable future. Only downside to this place is there is often a long wait to get in, but that should speak to the quality of First Watch. read more

Spotted this place on Yelp, and it was even convenient! Looking for breakfast after a hard session at the gym. I liked that the menu had items other than the usual breakfast fare. I really don't much like breakfast food because it's always the same (eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, pancakes in some combination). They had all that here, but some variations that looked promising! We ordered seasonal chimichurri hash, acai (drink), and artisan grain pancakes. Syrup was extra. Well, OK...not exactly. They have a crap syrup that is included (the server said it was "like Log Cabin"). Really? Why would a place featuring such interesting choices as chimichurri hash feature some fake syrup product?? But for $1.29 you can purchase actual maple syrup (in a small bottle you can take with you). As you can guess, we got the actual maple syrup. The acai was actually nice. I'm not usually a fan, but this is a mixed beverage of some sort and it was pretty good. My wife really liked it. The pancakes were good. Can't really say "special", but good. It did seem they left one side cooking a tad too long as it has a slight crunch to it. But the flavor was fine, especially with actual real syrup. The flavor of the chimichurri was good, but not well distributed. The chicken and chimichurri sauce were both concentrated in specific areas. So the first few bites were just potatoes. Then I hit the sauce more towards the middle as well as chicken which was in about 2/3 of the dish. I just happened to start in the 1/3 where it wasn't. They should probably make a bit more effort to get a better distribution of the ingredients so the diner gets the full flavor from start to finish. Once I realized I stirred it up a bit on my own to spread it around better. Not fatal, but just a lack of attention to detail, in my opinion. Service was good and friendly with appropriate attention. I can see coming back sometime. read more

Great menu. Loved the healthy options including freshly squeezed juices. We ordered 3 kids meals and the kids scraped their plates clean. Daughter ordered the pesto chicken quinoa bowl which ended up being passed around the table and was everyone's favorite. Interior decor was cute with a farm fresh look. I've hesitated to visit this spot because the exterior makes it seem nothing more than a run-of-the-mill chain joint (I know, I should know better than to judge a book by its cover)but it definitely felt and looked more homey inside. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I thought our server was less than excited to be working. Maybe she had one too many guests return their food or maybe she was hungover from a too late Saturday night.
