There's a wonderful kind of vibe radiating off of everyone we encountered here. The staff always greets you with beautiful smiles and I love being asked how my morning is going so far. They seem to really care. Now on to what we ordered: I had the Traditional breakfast and my husband ordered the Trifecta and as I mentioned above both dishes were outstanding! My plate was almost empty before I realized I didn't take a picture so here's what was left of it. I recently had breakfast at First Watch in Gilbert and had a mixed experience. The meal started off with some disappointment, as the bacon was overcooked and burnt, which took away from the flavor. The breakfast potatoes were also underwhelming--soggy and a little greasy rather than crispy and fresh. On the positive side, the eggs were cooked well and tasted great, and the toast was perfectly prepared. Those items helped salvage the meal and showed that the kitchen can get the basics right. Overall, the food was hit-or-miss during this visit. While the eggs and toast were enjoyable, the burnt bacon and greasy potatoes kept the breakfast from being as good as it could have been. Service was good and plenty of parking. Easy to find and easy access to Val Vista and Williams Field. Open eating area with a small outside seating area. Restaurant seemed clean and well kept. I am going to give it another try when I am in the area and hope this was just a "One Off" experience. read more

I'm prefacing my review that I'm not a breakfast guy. On work days and most weekends my breakfast is a banana, a granola bar and water. As my wife and I were out early last weekend without kids we decided to grab breakfast out and checked out Frist Watch in Gilbert. This was my first time to any First Watch restaurant. The interior is decent sized and has a nice, open, cozy feel to it. I liked the natural light coming in and the simple wood floors and light color scheme. They looked busy, but we were able to be seated right away at a 2-top next to the window. Our server arrived promptly and took our order. She was friendly and helped us go over the menu and the seasonal fare. I just ordered two eggs, potatoes, an English muffin and the chicken apple sausage (as recommended). My wife got a more elaborate meal adorned by a fruit cup and coffee. The food came out in about 10 minutes. It's hard to rate some basic things I ordered because it's hard to make them bad or incredible. However, the potatoes were not good...they were cold and they were bland (no seasonings, no onion or peppers mixed in). I also did not like the apple chicken sausage. I should have tried their Million Dollar Bacon instead...it was right there in the name telling me to order it! When the waitress came back at the end of our meal and saw that I didn't eat the sausage or half my potatoes, she didn't say a word, just scooped up the plate the laid the bill down on the table. $45 for 2 for breakfast that I enjoyed less than my banana and granola bar breakfasts at home for $2. The atmosphere is a little loud but in a good way, lots of happy people talking about life or whatever. Our server Ocean was so awesome. Seriously one of the best servers I've had while dining anywhere. Very knowledgeable and patient. And the food was so good! My son enjoyed his granola, my husband had the maple bacon croissant sandwich and I had the pumpkin pancake breakfast. Will definitely be back! I've been to a number of First Watch locations, but I heard this one was one has significant flare and energy so we checked it out. We were greeted quickly with smiles and taken to our table. The staff are super friendly! The store was clean and inviting. I ordered the Strawberry Tres Leches French Toast which was amazing! The gingerbread cookie crumbles was the perfect touch. Also grabbed some grits which I loved...nice and buttery, my fav. We ordered the Million Dollar bacon and of course the Holey Donuts with Nutella. This review is solely based on takeout orders as being a mom of two littles now, I'm Queen DoorDasher. I literally order from this specific First Watch location at least 3-4 times a week when I don't have time to make myself breakfast and I tell you what, even if I did have the time, I prefer this breakfast spot over any other breakfast place I've ever dined at in my lifetime! Their breakfast entrees from just a standard eggs, meat and carb selection are all delicious. One of my fave savory go-to's is their Trifecta that comes with delicious scrambled eggs, smoked bacon and a large pancake of choice (I'm obsessed with their carrot cake pancake and the banana almond crunch one, on top of that their house made maple syrup is bomb diggity as well). My fave sweet go-to is their A.M. Superfoods bowl that comes with almond butter on their toast. What stands out most with this bowl is the coconut chia pudding, omggggggg, literal foodgasm. Now onto their beverages....also top tier!! Absolutely try their iced coffee, it's divine. I'm also obsessed with their Kale Tonic juice, hits the spot and so incredibly refreshing. Besides being one of the most delicious breakfast restaurants I've ever eaten from, their pricing is also astonishing. Very affordable for quality ingredients in my book. This place never disappoints. Their seasonal juices are always on point. The Watermelon Wake Up might be the best juice I've had here. Super refreshing and highly addictive. I went with the traditional French toast with mixed berry compote. It was perfectly done. I added a side of crispy bacon. I really appreciate that they bring out warm syrup in a glass container. Small details like that truly make a difference. We shared the blueberry lemon cornbread and it was incredible. Rich, flavorful, and easily passes as dessert. A perfect shareable. My girlfriend's son had the Tres Leches French Toast and said it was absolutely delicious. Their menu is strong all around. I've tried several dishes and nothing ever disappoints. Service is quick and polite. I also love that you can pay through the QR code at the table or go up front when you're ready to leave. It keeps things easy and efficient. Over the course of the last decade I will tend to find a breakfast spot close to my place of business and will frequent it on a regular basis. I started coming to this First Watch a few years ago and have to say that this location is superior to any of their other locations I have been to. All of the staff are friendly, genuine and very accommodating. They have such a unique culture with respect to how much everyone is on the same page and shows a mutual respect to one another. It's truly a rare atmosphere to experience at restaurants. The food is phenomenal as well, even to the point of when I try a new dish it's as delicious as my typical "go to". Don't sleep on the roast beef and havarti sandwich!!! The Parmesan crusted sourdough is fantastic and adding the cheese sauce and bacon to the potatoes is the only way to do it. My biggest critique of FW has been and always will be that the potatoes are not crispy, like at all. But get them this way and problem solved. read more

We come super early when it is more chill; if you come later there may be a wait. I usually get the Avocado Toast with over easy eggs. My husband has a sweet tooth, he loves their giant pancakes. We always end up splitting the Million Dollar Bacon (hardwood smoked bacon glazed with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne and a maple syrup drizzle). I like that they leave a pot of coffee at your table. I often get a fresh juice as well; the Purple Haze (lemon, cane sugar, butterfly pea flower tea and a hint of lavender) is not only tasty, it is also quite lovely to look at. THE TURKEY GRAVY IS MADE WITH WATER!!! That's right not milk based at all!!!!! I swear they used to use milk. My husband and I went over the weekend for brunch and I got the biscuit's and water gravy! My husband asked and confirmed that they do not use milk here and only water. I don't know if that's just this location or all of them. The staff were amazing! The blueberry lemon cornbread is very good and so are their potatoes. Had a great breakfast at First Watch recently. We tried the Blueberry Lemon Cornbread, which was really good with a nice balance of sweetness and flavor, and the Trifecta breakfast was excellent. The house pico de gallo was so flavorful and it really added to the flavor of the chicken. My wife says the Belgian Waffles are perfectly crisp, airy and light and she is a major critic of waffles! The bacon is crispy and juicy and neither overcooked nor undercooked. The eggs are just how mama made 'em! Their juice drinks are delicious! I always forget that I'm at a franchise when I am here. The place has a very personal "homey" feel. The service is always prompt even when they're very busy and the food always comes out great.
