The best thing about this restaurant was using the no wait app to be seated. There was a 30 minute wait. By the time we got through the doors we were automatically seated. Highly suggest it! Me and the hubby both had the tri-fecta breakfast plate with waffles and over medium eggs. I had bacon and he had sausage. The bacon was delicious and crispy!!! The "airy" waffles on the other hand, collapsed under the pressure of syrup. It was the texture of mush- don't get the waffle. Lol If I ever go back, I'll try something different. I hadn't eaten at a First Watch in over 4 years. I'm a huge lover of Farm to Table restaurants and I honestly forgot how awesome this place is. We went for a Sunday brunch with my partners mother who has never been and we were blown away. We all got a fresh juice and the millionaires bacon! Ive been to this location a few times and recently stopped in after a 1/2 Price Books visit. In the past Ive had issue with the service and thought Id try again. The updated interior is big improvement. The place feels more comfortable and homey. This place can be tough if you want a quick bite, as there always seems to be a wait. I was alone and did not want to wait on a table so the addition of a 'common table' where you and seat yourself if there is a spot was very nice. I also struck up a nice conversation with the woman I was sitting near and maybe even got a potential art student out of the deal. Oh, yeah. She gave he her card and Im supposed to email her. Thanks Yelp review for reminding me. The food here is always pretty good. They have a nice collection of vegetarian and healthy options. Honestly Ive not really explored the menu that much. I tend to find something I like and order it over and over. I often get the eggs florentine, which is pretty good. This time I got fancy and ordered an egg sandwich without meat. All First Watchs are good but Kenwood is my favorite mostly based on the service. They seem to be friendlier and many of the servers seem to recognize us when we come in. Their Frittata Rustica is the best omelet you can get anywhere. Also, their new coffee blend is very good, an improvement over the previous. read more

I went to First Watch again today and the food was better! The home fries were flavorful! They had pepper on them and were mixed with onions which were great!!! No bland home fries this time! I ordered a breakfast sandwich which was good. The bacon was cooked well. The only drawback was the eggs that I ordered in the sandwich. I specifically asked for scrambled eggs and they gave me a over well egg. Cooked through good but the yolk was still separate from the egg white. The egg was also very flat. So this used to be my go to spot loved the staff and food, but now I will no longer be going here unfortunately. My family and I went there this morning and was told 20 min wait which is normal but when they starting seating people who came in after us and they proceeded to tell me that well those people used the app. We were waiting for over 30 min and then only after I said take me off the list we all of the sudden were next on the list when there were obviously 4 names before us. I may be wrong but you should take care of the people who are there waiting to eat then holding empty tables hoping the people show up which happened twice and instead of seating people there they skipped to the next person on the app. Sorry first watch but you just complicated the seating process and making waiting area jammed up of people watching people eat and get sat before them just because they were not aware we need to use the app to get a seat. read more

If first impressions mean anything, this could very well be the start of something beautiful. I have not had biscuits and gravy at a restaurant in quite some time. I have been hard pressed to find one that did not have pork sausage. Usually at those other places you would get biscuits with gravy and no sides, so I was pleasantly surprised to see they came with 2 eggs and potatoes. I came here with one of my friends recently after not coming to First Watch for years and I was pleasantly surprised! I don't even remember why I stopped going to First Watch. At this location, our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive for the whole breakfast and she was so funny and great to talk to! She recommended me and my friend try the juices and their juices here are so much less expensive than where I normally get my juices (here it was I believe 2.50/3.00 when I normally pay around 7-11 dollars for a cold pressed juice in Cincy). I ordered the Kale Tonic and it was the most delicious green juice I have had - I will most certainly be coming back here if nothing else to get that juice. I also ordered the Belgian Waffle and it was pretty good. I think I prefer the atmosphere and the drinks over the food itself but that is not to say that the food is bad - it isn't. It is just not the best brunch food you can get in the area but that's okay. I would also love to see some menu changes particularly with their "healthy" section because several of the items on that were over 1,000 calories. I'm happily surprised at how many good down to earth restaurants we seem to find back in the ole 'Nati. Having lived in the epicenter of food trendiness for 30 years, there is something about a solid , simple well cooked and fair priced meal that always hits the spot and leaves you physically and spiritually satisfied. This is one of those places. Everything sounds good and WAS good. From the seasonal pumpkin pancakes to their great energy bowls and smoothies, also the traditional eggs and bacon and potatoes all done just the way you like them. The hashes they have are KILLER- you have to get at least one. We got 2, the Market and Avocado, and they were both perfect. Nice presentation too. Love Love Love their breakfast. I always get the cheese omelet and my boyfriend gets the ham omelet. They have both even though they are not on the menu. Also, don't like the onions in the potato's, so they offered to make them without (with a little extra wait)- Service is always spot on here and very clean restaurant. We ate here on a busy Saturday morning (11/7) and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and caring. We had my 10 month old twin grandbabies with us. Two high chairs were provided and not once did the waitress blink an eye at our requests, nor at the food items that soon appeared on the floor around us. (which we cleaned up before we left the table) I ordered an item on the menu and made 3 small specific requests for changes -- ALL 3 were executed perfectly! I loved my breakfast 'hash'! NO LONGER AN OPTION! Dear Peachtree Diner, It is with a contrite and heavy heart that I write this letter of apology. In a moment of extreme weakness, I dared to try another restaurant for my favorite breakfast: French toast. Trust me, it was a big mistake and one to never be repeated. Here's is the rundown: We were very hungry and wanting to have breakfast but there just weren't very many options in the Kenwood area. I happened to notice that one of the options was First Watch and so we decided to give them a try. As we entered the restaurant, e immediately noticed the volume was quite high due to the open nature of the space and level of activity. It was very busy. We were seated at a small town in close proximity to other diners so if you are not social or in need of privacy, you will want to explore other options. On the other hand, it is good to sit close to others so that you can check out their plates. I noticed that the pancakes looked dry and that the omelets were dry and overcooked. I don't usually like their potatoes because the ones in my home state are usually battered and possibly deep-fried and I therefore I avoid them. I decided to try the French toast, while my husband went for "the works" omelet with potatoes and toast. As soon as my plate hits the table, I realize that I cannot eat this French toast as it looks very dry and does not look appetizing. First of all it wasn't properly plated or presented. There were just two pieces of DRY grilled toast placed on a plate, unsliced, not dressed or garnished. I don't even serve my French toast like this at home. Just make an effort! They get major points for having the hutzpah to try and sell two pieces of toast for $9. Just to confirm what I am thinking, I taste the toast. Now I am annoyed because I know that this is not French toast and it is so bad that I am assuming that he actually forgot to dip it before tossing it on the grill. I am so certain of this that I actually take my hand and press it into the French toast, look at it and show it to my husband. My hand is clean and there is no detectable oil or moisture. I flag a waiter and have the toast returned to the kitchen and choose not to order anything else. The manager comes out to apologize and offer me another serving or alternative. I decline because this chain has a problem with proper food preparation and consistency. They really need new recipes and better trained cooks. Unfortunately, they are simply no longer an option for me. ****My husband actually liked his flat omelet and the potatoes were actually a nice surprise because they were fresh and nicely seasoned. ***That European version of water needs to be discontinued. When I order water, I am expecting an adult glass with ice and chilled water, not a juice glass half filled with slightly cool water and NO ice. What gives? I can't wait to get back home to my favorite French toast. I am going to treat her right and never stray again! read more

Tasty brunch spot. Lots of menu choices for every appetite. We opted for the eggs Benedict & classic breakfast. Eggs on the Benedict were cooked hard as requested, but the avocado was missing. Classic breakfast with grits was good, but eggs were too runny. Great server who immediately brought the missing avocado and checked on us frequently to make sure breakfast was yummy. As you'd expect with most brunch places, there can be a longer wait if you go between 10:30-11:30 but you can get seated pretty quickly before or after that hour. When did a breakfast restaurant decide it's OK to pre-cook breakfast items only to reheat them when ordered? If you cook for yourself and occasionally go out for breakfast, you can tell what's cooked fresh and what isn't. I get that the eggs were just cooked but clearly the potatoes and sausage were cooked earlier and staged and then reheated to just barely warm. I'm not a fan of English muffins and opt for marbled rye toast instead but NO! We were told they no longer have rye. So what do they serve their turkey avocado club on now? It saddens us that this has become a mediocre place for breakfast and the brainwashed people that continue to line up at the door on weekend mornings don't recognize they're not receiving the quality breakfast they once were. We will move on to Wild Eggs opened just up the street and support better quality and if that doesn't pan out, we'll just stay home and do the dishes. read more

First Watch .... But don't say anything about it ! My wife and I have enjoyed having breakfast at the First Watch restaurant in the Cincinnati suburb of Kenwood for over 20 years. The food was good, it was close by and we enjoyed joking with the managers and servers. Over time they became like our extended family and the restaurant became "Our Place". We became their biggest cheerleaders. We brought in several new customers and purchased thousands of dollars worth of gift certificates in their numerous promotional contests. My wife had special meetings of her various woman's organizations there and even had them cater a luncheon . Over the course of 20 years we observed many changes in managers and staff and countless minor remodeling changes in the restaurant. Through all that we were treated special by our favorite servers and enjoyed the family like atmosphere of a place where we felt comfortable. We ate breakfast there from three to seven days a week. Then on June 4th 2016 everything changed. The restaurant was in the midst of a drastic change both in décor and menu. The structure was partly remodeled in a darker furniture motif and an urban-country ambience with tractor seats and cow pictures on the walls. Many of the usual menu items had disappeared and were replaced by more exotic fare. The wife and I chose one of our regular servers and were seated. My wife told the waitress that we weren't exactly fans of the changes and the tractor seats looked more like toilet seats hanging on the walls. As we enjoyed joking with the servers and managers, we listened attentively as she replied that she liked them. We said, in a humorous manner, that she worked here, she had to say that. She replied that she really, really, really liked them. She then took our order and headed to the kitchen. Immediately thereafter, the manager (who was fairly new to this location) came running out of the kitchen (we thought somebody had had a medical emergency), he stopped at our table and shouted "What the hell did you say to my server to make her cry"? My wife and I looked at each other in disbelief. The manager said, " She's back there crying and now I'm short a server. " and then he went on to ball us out as we sat there in total embarrassment. After he left, the people at the next table said "I would have walked out". Our server never again came to our table and other servers brought us our food and drinks. We then proceeded to the counter to pay our bill. The assistant manager asked if everything was all right? I said "No, we just got balled-out by the manager and I don't know if we're coming back". He said "I hope so, I enjoy you two. My wife and I went home and pondered what had just happened. The more we thought about it the more upset we got over the way we were treated by the manager. We were, after all, loyal customers. My wife said that First Watch corporate offices should be aware of how we were treated. We felt at least we were due an apology. My wife found the First Watch website "Comments and Concerns" section and sent them an Email detailing what had happened On June 6th we received a reply from one of the First Watch owners who also lives in Cincinnati. He requested our phone number and a time when we would be home so he could call and address all of our problems and concerns. We gave him the information. On June 7th he called and before my wife could tell him what happened, he interrupted. "Oh no, I'm not getting into this 'he said ' 'she said' stuff. He went on to say that he had talked to the server and her mother, who also worked there and that we were wrong to criticize the remodeling or the menu changes. He went on to ball my wife and I out and told her that we were not to talk about the food, the remodeling, the servers or the cooks or the bosses. My wife said "This is like a gag order", he replied "No it isn't". My wife said "What can we talk about?" He said we could talk about the weather or the Reds and read our newspaper. He said this change had taken six years of study and cost six million dollars. We weren't to talk about it at the restaurant because they can't change anything. It is now 4 months later and we have not, nor will we ever, stop at the Kenwood First Watch, although we will miss our favorite servers and the many friends that we have made there in twenty years. There are plenty of less expensive places around that serve breakfast and will be happy to have us as loyal customers. If you happen to stop in, you might ask "what ever happened to the Farrells?' But, then again, maybe not. You must watch what you say in there ! read more

I work right down the street and we order lunch from there on occasion for our staff on Saturdays. The food is absolutely amazing and the manager/staff is more than accommodating to our giant to-go orders! If the food to-go is so good I can only imagine how wonderful and fresh it is when you dine in. The only thing I would change is their hours.
