There was about a 30 minute wait when we got there around 9am. I've kind of expected that there would be a wait. My husband and I got a table outside. He ordered the egg taco dish. I ordered a egg avocado sandwich. I would come back again. I love the location of this place. It's a great neighborhood spot. It is a very busy place. They open at 7am which is good for the early birds for a pick up on the way to work.. I also like the app where you can put yourSelf in line during busy hours. I've been to 3 locations Tempe chandler and Gilbert. The food is great service is much better at the Gilbert location . So I continue to visit often.. I have not been disappointed with the food yet . Visiting AZ, this was an awesome place to have breakfast, they have a seasonal menu, service was great and since it was a weekday wait time wasn't bad. I ordered the special pork belly cheese grits with poached eggs, artisinal toast, and side salad. Our waiter suggested to change the salad to the potatoes which was a good call. We also ordered a cinnamon waffle to share... Everything was good, the grits with the pork belly and egg was Yum! Perfectly poached and seasoned, the potatoes was on point. The Cinnamon waffle wasn't overly sweet, it wasn't drenched in cinnamon syrup which is good, they gave us a cute little container of it on the side to add more if we like. Today, Sunday, august 29th, our VERY FIRST VISIT. Omg so many great things to say about this place!! It was a short wait...the hostess was so friendly. Raymond, our waiter, did an extraordinary job!! The food was so fresh and delicious. We each ordered something different... Raymond also suggested the PUMPKIN DONUT HOLES!!! That were to die for!!! One of the cooks came by to ask if everything was to our Satisfaction! Indeed it was. The food and service 10 stars! The only hiccup was the young man taking our money. My Aunt who is a local recommended this place! It exceeded our expectations! The customer service was excellent. Love that there is minimal plastic used here. The cups are glass and the sauces are served in metal cups. The only plastic i see is the straws and coffee creams. The kids menu is impressive. There was something for everyone. Stopped by for breakfast here as we were running errands in the area. What a pleasant surprise it was for us- from the decor to the food to the service - everything about this location made our seemingly normal outing unexpectedly special. Trying to be less negative with 2020 behind us and emphasize the positive , including remembering to post the good comments when deserved instead of saying I will do it later and forgetting . The staff was very cordial , helping me pick just the right selections for myself and my family. Lemon ricotta pancakes were suggested and what a great recommendation it was! For the healthier member of our party the a.m. super foods bowl was the perfect morning starter. We were just so happy with our service and especially delighted when the manager came over to check on us- adding that personal touch that so many restaurants have forgotten to incorporate into their daily routine!! Went with the family to get breakfast. It's located in Fulton Ranch area so convenience was definitely a plus. Wait staff was nice and restaurant was definitely clean (high chairs especially). Ended up order the biscuit breakfast and the Belgium waffle breakfast. This was essentially where he down turn happened. The sheer wait for food was very long...my kids were starving and so was my wife. The wait continued until we finally got our food hoping for the wait to be worth it. Sadly, it was not. For the price the amount of food was definitely lacking. My potatoes were soggy and the biscuit gravy wasn't really gravy. It was more like water mixed with sausage bits. Luckily the waffle was decent and the eggs were cooked well. Overall, we'll likely not return as Eggs N Joe is way better and now it looks like they'll be opening really close to First Watch. read more

The menu has the usual American breakfast options you get everywhere else. Decent value for money if that's a factor. Go around 0830 Hrs to avoid the crowd. Key takeaways in order of good to not so good(meh): 1. Nice ambiance with very warm tones! 2. Staff are nice and make sure they check on you frequently! 3. Big fan of the promotions and daily deals handwritten on a blackboard on the wall! 4. Ordered the "traditional" and the "Million Dollar beacon". The latter lived up to its hype! Four slices of hardwood smoked bacon baked with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne, and a maple syrup drizzle. The traditional was alright. The beacon(not to be confused with "Million Dollar beacon") were a tad overcooked and chewy. 5. The restroom was for a lack of better words, bad. Especially during a pandemic. A star off because of this. 6. Lack of outdoor seating options. They just don't exist. Breakfast places usually do have this and especially during the pandemic! A star off again. Summary: If your expectations are on the lower side you'll like it. If not, I urge you to lower them. P.S. I have had breakfast here many times and I have never had a bad meal. Food, coffee, drinks (including water) and service is always excellent. The food is fresh, beautifully cooked and presented. And healthy! Last Monday, Labor Day, my son and I stopped after an early morning scout event. I ordered a special drink with OJ, coconut water, tumeric and ginger. So refreshing. Then a breakfast that included a couple of eggs, bacon and a pumpkin spice pancake. Loved my pancake. Not too sweet and it came with warm syrup. What a nice touch! My son had the classic breakfast with eggs, potatoes, toast and bacon. He also enjoyed his breakfast very much. The only con is that it is a little pricey but so worth it. Been here a few times and this place has it all featured out. Hard working, dedicated and fantastic employees. They have consistently fresh and delicious food with a seasonal menu which I love to see. They also have the coffee down to an art where you just sit back, sip and enjoy your experience. Love the variety of creamers including soy options which you rarely ever see. Portions are desirable and the flavor is on point. I truly love this little gem. And the gentleman who works there has some of the best customer service I've seen in the valley! He is on point with his tables and the new girl is really amazing for being rather new. Food is good. Service needs work. Overall we enjoy First Watch as a local breakfast spot, and the food is good. However, during each visit (at least the past 5 times) there seem to be little things that go wrong. For example, we ordered the "million dollar bacon" which was good in the past, but the waitress suggested we try it "crispy". But when it came out it was completely charred black and inedible. The waitress took it away but still charged us. I mentioned it to the manager at the front and he said "sorry but you asked for it crispy" and still charged me for it. During the next visit they had an issue with the computer and I had to wait over 15 minutes (after waiting 10 minutes in line to check out) for them to figure it out, while my kids were waiting in the car. Again, nothing other than a "sorry about that". Last week our service was almost comical, and we were trying to be as nice as possible about it. The ONLY thing we got from our waiter was our food order. We asked for creamer for our coffee 3 TIMES and never received it. We asked for the strawberry preserves for the toast which was forgotten on both plates, and never received it. We asked for refills and never received it. And the entire time we were watching this guy bring other tables the items they asked for. I even asked the guy, "did we do something to offend you?" He just looked at me funny and walked away. I asked the kid at the front desk if this guy had ever worked as a waiter before and he replied "yeah, he's a waiter... sorry if you had issues". There was no manager in sight the entire morning. Oh well, the manager would have probably just said "sorry" again like usual. The point is, you can have decent food, but if the service is bad every time we visit, then I just don't want to spend my money at your business. Sorry. read more

While visiting Arizona, I noticed that there are lots of great options for breakfast. And First Watch is definitely not to be missed if you are visiting Arizona for business or pleasure. Food ordered: Avocado Toast with Eggs- Yes it is simple but it is healthy and it tastes good and also looks very good. I enjoyed the freshness of their bread and the taste of the Avocado on the bread. The breakfast menu is very diverse and the options are phenomenal here for the first meal of the day. The coffee was freshly brewed and it was one of the best coffee that I had. Only coffee in Hawaii can top the coffee served here. On top of a great food, the service was top notch. You cant make reservations but I do enjoy that I can get in line in advance using yelp which saves us so much time as it can get super crowded. Nice location and open spacing they have a lovely menu. Various special juices are available along with hot coffee and iced coffee. We choose the iced coffee and there was creamer on the table. Their menu has tons of options including a healtheri side which is nice to see. I got their AM bowl which is by far the best chia seed pudding I have ever tried. Full of juicy berries it is super creamy and filling. What is the recipie First Watch! It is also topped with bannanas and crunchy granola. Served on the side are two very thick slices of toast topped with an extreme amount of almond butter and sea salt...very very filling. COuld probably do with less but the nut butter. We also tried a giatn omlette stuffed with meet and veggies and served with potatoes. Overall, amazing. WIll be coming back again. read more

The fresh fresher greens as a side is a great alternative to potatoes when you want something a little lighter. The service is excellent and we have never had to wait for a table (even on a weekend). I have always liked First Watch but today I ordered Eggs Benedick off the menu which is for two eggs. I asked the waitress if and she said OF COURSE! The waitress did not tell me that I would still be paying the double amount for only ordering half an order and I spoke to the manager and he said he could not discount this order. So I was charged for 2 eggs when I only ordered 1. I will NEVER go there again because of untrained waiters/waitresses and an unfire policy.
