We had already hired this company to treat our wasp situation a few months ago, which they did quite well, removing a wasp nest. But the wasps returned and built three more angry nests. We planned to hire the company again. Michael arrived the next day, early in the morning, and removed the three nests. Michael also gave us two wasp catching traps and handled his visit as a no-charge courtesy call. Amazing. The traps work well and are filling up with dead wasps. I called Dominic for help with a rat under the house. We are currently in the process of trying to trap it, as it has been illusive and persistent. I was connected with Dominic through a referral from another local pest company regarding an ant problem. Dominic called me immediately (on a Friday night, no less) and left a voicemail. I called him back on Monday and he offered to come back the very next day (and worked around MY schedule on the timing). Dominic showed up on time (early even), was professional, friendly, and genuinely cares about his work. He took his time with the inspection (indoors and out) and explained his process in detail. His prices were lower than other pest control services I've talked to (only $95 for the visit) and he even offered to come back free of charge to spray the side of my house after I have my gardener trim up some extremely overgrown bougainvillea/rose bushes. Michael Nelson, at First Select came to my home today. I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. He knew exactly what to do. I had problems with rodents in the crawlspace. He was able to go into the crawlspace and repair a hole in my roof. He made a diagram of where the hole was and showed me pictures. He also explained how he would make the repair. I called the office at 3:00 A.M. after hearing the noises. The answering service was helpful and I got a call back shortly after I spoke with them. This company is great. Nice person, friendly service, very transparent about the cost of the initial estimate which was rolled into the final bill as a credit, but have to be honest, the final bill was quite high for the work that was done. We paid about $420 for a couple hours work....sealed a couple of holes, laid down a door strip, put in some traps. Seemed like quite a high hourly rate compared to other service providers like electricians or plumbers. So overall, bit on the pricey side especially considering the mice are still there, though he was very clear he did not guarantee that they would all be caught....but it would have been nice to at least catch one for all the money we spent. read more

Quick response and AMAZINGLY good service during their visit! Dominic responded to my Yelp plea for help with an ant problem. Little jerks were EVERYWHERE in our house following the rains! Dominic arrived the next day and did a thorough inspection of both the interior and exterior of the house and sprayed a few spots outside. His assistant (Michael, I think?) did a little baiting inside. They were both extremely polite and personable. But more importantly, no more ants!!! I think that First Select - is excellent - in what it is. Those who Don't Like it - perhaps want something that it can not be. The work - seems effective - significantly STRONG - at doing what they do! They deal with - Ants - and they are extremely good with Ants. They are realistic - about what can and can not be done. They also note - their specialization - and the personal nature of their service. IF one wants - an "all business" - routine - company with a lot of employees and a strong "business office" - find a bigger company - maybe a chain company even. I prefer work - which is down to earth - and personalized and priced reasonably - and their work is that - very, very good at that! IF you want someone to come 24/7 - no - they are 9-5 M-F or close to that! Be realistic! Be clear at what you want! I think that Dominic really cares - and does - all that he can do! I highly recommend his company! I also think that a few other people - should be clear that what they want - isn't what his company can give you!
