The team at First Due is awesome. I was referred to First Due by my co-workers so I decided to give them a call and I am very glad that I did. We were just moving within neighborhoods in Seattle but had a very narrow window around which we could move. First Due was able to work around my schedule and move us on a Sunday with approximately 1.5 weeks notice - thank you for being so accommodating! I highly recommend using their 'Fire Boxes'. The process went like this...I called First Due to schedule a walk-through and estimate. One of the First Due team came by my apartment. He was able to provide me an estimate that same day. The estimate was a bit on the high-side so I had some reservations initially. But, after speaking with them and meeting the estimator I had the impression that they were very professional and that they would take care of my things. The fire boxes were delivered a few days before my move. They were very clean and in excellent condition. We were able to pack all of our small items from a ~800 sq ft apartment in 45 fireboxes. If you choose to rent the fire boxes I would suggest renting the 30 fire boxes. If you are not able to fit all of your items you can always make a couple trips yourself to move some of the small items. Either way you cannot go wrong using these. The price I was quoted for the firebox was for 2 weeks and it was much lower than competing options. The fire boxes also come with rolling carts which make them super easy to move. I received a confirmation call on the Friday prior to the move as well as the day of before the movers left the warehouse. I had First Due bring 7 wardrobe boxes for my clothes but they only needed to use 4 of them. They only charge for the wardrobe boxes that you use. There were 3 movers and 1 truck. The truck was very clean and my items were securely packed in so I did not have to worry about them being damaged. When they moved items in and out of my apartment they did so with care, they put down floor mats to protect the floors, and I did not find even a single scratch on my walls or furniture afterwards. I have had previous movers that destroyed the walls in my apartments and was amazed at how careful the First Due movers were with my stuff and the apartment. The guys were very professional and efficient. I was moving from First Hill to Lower Queen Anne and the apartment I was moving out of had incredibly slow elevators. So, we were afraid the move would take 8+ hours. However, the movers were able to finish much faster than expected ~6.5 hours all while taking great care of our stuff. They wrapped everything in blankets and plastic wrap to protect it. I was concerned about the impact on the environment of using plastic wrap however First Due does recycle the plastic wrap. They said they compact the wrap up into squares to use for archery targets for summer camps. They also mentioned that if we requested it we do not have to use plastic wrap. But, using the wrap helps prevent items from sliding around in the truck... After the move First Due stopped by when I was ready and picked up the Fire Boxes from my apartment. It felt great not to waste all that cardboard and to have someone come and take away all my moving boxes when I was done with them. They also followed up with me to make sure that everything went well with the move. I will definitely use First Due again in the future and I HIGHLY recommend this moving company to anyone that is thinking about using movers in the Seattle area. I used First Due Movers recently to relocate from Redmond to Duvall. They sent someone out ahead of time to do a free-of-charge appraisal for the packing and moving services. We elected to do the majority of our own packing then have them come in and pack the fragile stuff for us. The day before our move they sent out 3 guys (2 regulars and one 'in-training' - they only charged us for 2) to pack the rest of our stuff and make sure everything we'd already packed was good to go. Took them only an hour so we came in way under estimate. The day of the move they sent 2 guys. They did an awesome job and powered through going up and down the three flights of steps outside my apartment. They took about a 30-45 min lunch break after packing the truck, then drove out to my new place and started unloading. It was the simplest thing ever for my wife and I because we'd just hang out and wait for them to walk by with a box so we could tell them where to put it. Several times I felt a bit useless just sitting there while they worked hard but hey, that's why I'm paying them, right? In the end they came in a bit under appraisal for the move itself, so I'm happy with that. Everyone from this company I interacted with was super nice and fun to talk with. They had a really great attitude toward everything and kept a stressful moving day light with jokes and banter. I can't recommend these folks enough. Next time we move (which I hope is a long time from now) I'll absolutely be giving them a call again. They're aces. read more

Today Kevin and Cody moved my stuff from North Bend to Maple Valley. They were before their scheduled start time, extremely polite and professional, and efficient. I have used movers several times, and each time had problems (lazy workers, trucks breaking down, disappearing for a 2 hour lunch break, and not following the detailed map because GPS would get them lost). This was the first time my move was easy and stress free. Their materials were clean and in good repair. The truck looks like it was good too, though I am not really a good judge of trucks. Then they moved 2 other heavy pieces for me in no time flat, which included taking off a door and carrying a heavy couch up to the road so I could put a for free sign on it. They were the best moving company I've used to date, and I've moved a lot. They've redefined the moving experience for me. What impressed me the most was the care with which they were wrapping up my furniture and ensuring there would be no damage, and there wasn't. When I saw that, I was comfortable with them taking my guitars, and making sure my new expensive bike would come out on the other end with no scratches. Nothing was damaged. They were very personable, polite, very helpful with last minute items I had not packed (took the tv off the wall and packed it for me), and were super efficient. We had a very complicated move to accomplish -- moving from one apartment to two, while also pulling stuff from a big storage locker (and distributing its contents to the two new apartments, plus something to a friend's house, plus various items to Goodwill). And did I mention that many of the furniture pieces were both heavy and expensive? I hired First Due to move my furniture into my garage in preparation for staging my home to sell. First Due made two visits -- first to drop off packing materials and second to move the furniture. Both times, they called the day before to confirm and, on the day of, they both called and texted to let me know their expected arrival time. Our real estate agent recommended First Due Movers after we recently bought our house. I still had a bunch of stuff left in boxes from a previous move a year ago. I told the guy that came over to write up the quote that I'd likely move some of the stuff myself and he said that was fine (they work by the hour) and it would just lower the overall cost. I ended up moving more stuff myself that I had planned so the final total was only about 65% of the original quote, first time that ever happened! The house I was moving out of had a VERY steep driveway so they had to carry everything up to the street as they couldn't get a truck down, not once did I hear any complaining. We used first due movers in Sept 2017 for just the pack. We wished we had used them for our move as well. They were so polite, on time, hard workers, trustworthy and very careful and thorough. We had to move again in Feb 2018 and decided to use them for our pack and move this time. We were so glad we did! First Due Movers made our packing and moving a positive experience. I was impressed with the employee who came to our home to assess our items and give us a quote. They were easy to schedule for a date that we preferred. We had a crew of two employees that packed our items one day and a larger crew who moved us the following day. I have called First Due Movers at least a half dozen times and they have never once answered their phones!!! This company lacks the professionalism to at the very least have a receptionist to answer their phones and provide any sort of information or quality customer service!!! This is apparently a part time home based business without any full time employees, and as a result they are simply unreachable!! How can I count on a company to give me a moving quote, move my possessions, and provide any sort of help if there are any problems I might need to speak with them about if THEY NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONES?!?!?! I'm guessing their clients must all be other firefighters or friends and family who see them in person on a regular basis!! Bottom line here... It's been about a month and a half since First Due Movers moved our things from a storage unit in Redmond to our new house in Monroe. I've been meaning to write a review for them since they did such a fine job for us but we've been unpacking which seems to take forever. We had a 10 x 30 storage unit stuffed with household items plus another 10 x 10 unit. They came right on time with two large trucks and a crew of 5 guys. They were all in great physical shape, as you would expect from firefighters, but more importantly very professional and polite. A lot of our stuff in the 10 x 30 was loose and not in boxes, but they took extra care to make sure everything was wrapped and padded to prevent damage. They worked hard through the day loading and then later unloading. I would definitely use them again if we ever move, and highly recommend them! read more

They dropped my double oven and shattered the glass is one of the doors and also damaged my 25k sectional that was specially ordered from Roche Bobois, from France. They agreed to pay the about 20% of the repair cost, then, backed out of it by refusing to answer my emails (this was their accounting person); which, by the way, they agreed to pay for only because I had paid them an extra $100 to cover and protect the sectional and they did not cover it and never gave me my $100 back. Also, after they left 2 of my outdoor furniture chairs were missing. Nothing was supposed to leave the house as I was merely moving furniture to the garage to redo the flooring throughout the house. These were a great bunch of guys who made our move experience really free of additional stress. First was the quote, which was completed in about a half-hour. They were upfront about all the charges involved, and also pointed out that their final charges many times come in less than the original estimate. On the day of the move, they were on time, and did a really terrific job with both heavy and fragile items. They moved things with care and placed them where we wanted them in the new house. Recently I discovered I had to move with only 8 days notice! Single-handedly I had to pack up a 2600 sq ft. house, find another home, sign a lease and move. Chaotic doesn't begin to describe it. I was all set to go with another moving company when a colleague recommended First Due Movers. Switching to them was, ahem, a great move. They were ON TIME for their bid, pick and delivery. They were courteous and helpful every step of the way. They repeatedly extended themselves beyond my expectations. Was the move perfect? Heck NO! Moves never are and this was a huge job-- 12 hours/ 8 men. Here's where I was delighted- anything that went wrong or differently than I expected was fixed the minute I mentioned it. That's great service. They didn't consider the job over even after I was moved and they were paid. The job wasn't complete until every last detail had been taken care of. We contacted First Due Movers two weeks ago to get an estimate for our move. Their response was very prompt, and Cody K. came out soon after to our home to give us an estimate for our move. He was very professional and quick with estimating how big of a truck we would need and helping us decide on our insurance options. The day of the move, Cody, Andrew and Van arrived with an appropriately sized truck, a good sense of humor, and an eagerness to get the job done quickly and efficiently. And they were efficient. They wrapped our furniture with immense care and did so with great speed. When it came to unloading, they placed all boxes and furniture in the appropriate rooms and made sure we were happy before they departed. First off, their other reviews are accurate. We have always moved ourselves over the past 8 years. After acquiring an extra large leather couch and new king mattress, we were dreading moving out of our condo. It took us over two hrs to move in those two items alone. We timed the two men, they had both items out and in their truck within 30 minutes! We are most certainly hiring them again for our next move. They were fast, careful, and honest.
