My husband and I cannot rave enough about First Class Moving & Storage. We've moved numerous times over the years (WI Regionally, WI to NC, NC to IL, etc.) and our recent regional move within IL (12-13 October) was exceptional due to First Class. From working with Donny to gain an estimate to the crew who took care of us over the course of two days, this latest move had to be the most positive experience we've ever had when having to coordinate a move. Donny was extremely thorough, pleasant, professional and easy to work with. He answered all of our questions the day of our estimate walk-through as well taking ad hoc calls/emails to address remaining questions we had as well as to ensure all of our logistics were set. First Class called the week of the move to solidify final details, and on the day of packing, the crew arrived right on time. The crew, under Esteban Perez's lead, were exceptional. Not one item was damaged, our larger furniture was cared for and protected. They stayed within their window of packing time and were a great team. On the day of the move, Esteban was again the foreman, along with the same crew + 1 new resource. This team was unbelievable. They were efficient, professional, great sense of humor, and cognizant of moving items carefully and coordinating with one another. There was not one minute that was wasted. As mentioned above, my husband and I have moved more times that we care to admit. A moving company can make/break an already stressful time. We've had our share of movers who simply did not care... First Class Moving made us feel like family. They treated us and everything we own as it was theirs, and as if they were caring for family. Should we have to move again down the road, there will be no question who we will contact...We will be seeking Donny's assistance once again, and if our same crew is still available, we would request them by name as well. read more

firstclassmovers.org is the worst in the world!!!! You will regret using them!!! I was available for delivery for 24 days. I finally had my stuff delivered on the 25th day. They didn't fully put stuff together like they said they would when they delivered. Didn't put my furniture together: They left stuff in my garage because they said it didn't fit through my door, even though it did. Said they would hold my stuff hostage: When I called them because I was overcharged, they made me cry and said they will impound all of my stuff and take my to court because they put a no-dispute clause in my contract. They said when I argued with them, it allowed them to take me to court and hold my stuff for court and I had to arrive to court in Washington state the next week or they would have a default judgment against me. 20 days late: I called them every day asking when delivery would happen and they never called me back. Each day they said the same thing. I'll call you later today and they never did. Finally, they said they would deliver on the 17th day and then they said the truck broke down. Boxes were scrunched down to 3/4 size: When the boxes arrived they were ripped on most edges as if pushed halfway down with heavy stuff on top of them. read more

I have to say, I've used a few other moving companies in the past, and these guys were a bit more expensive, but worth every penny. They were absolutely fantastic -- by far the best I've seen. I used them because they came highly recommended from a close friend of mine who had just moved. Anyway, the 3-man team arrived early and worked efficiently the entire time they were on the clock. And they did a great job of really wrapping up and protecting every piece of furniture in my 2-bedroom apartment. But what really impressed me was the incredible combination of strength, speed, and care they took with everything. I watched them lift a 200-pound treadmill like it was a piece of paper, and they moved out an oversized couch through an undersized doorway as if it were no big deal (I had moved the couch in with my dad and it took us a half hour ... these gentlemen had it out in three minutes). As if it weren't enough to just be focused, diligent, professional workers, these guys were truly nice as well (Jorge, Lorenzo, and Arturo). I also enjoyed working with Heidy Lopez to book everything over the phone. She gave me great customer service. I would use First Class Moving again in a heartbeat. read more

My move with First Class Moving & Storage was a couple weeks ago, and it went very, very well. First, Donny came out a couple weeks in advance and performed his analysis of the items to be moved (which was only part of a household, so it was complicated, and did a great job asking the right questions about what was being moved and what was staying, and how to organize things for the day of the move. When that day came, they brought 2 trucks and 8 guys. There were some difficult aspects, most notably a universal weight lifting machine whose frame ultimately did not fit through the narrow basement stairs with the 90 degree turn at the bottom in my new house; they engineered a work-around, and got that item through the turn, and reassembled the machine efficiently. The only glitch was that they ended up moving a bit more than I had designated, but I put most of that on me and my failure to think through all the possible interpretations of my instructions - like I said, it was complicated. I've only moved a couple other times in my adult lifetime, so I have little to compare this to, but based on this experience I would highly recommend First Class Moving. read more

I recently used First Class to move from Chicago to Manhattan. They sent a representative to my condo to get an estimate prior to the move. The representative (Ranan) was nice, helpful and on time! Before my move I received a confirmation phone call. I also needed assistance with a last minute insurance request and they got it done right away. On moving day, the movers were exactly on time and so efficient. The crew (4 of them) were all nice, polite and professional. I had them pack my kitchen and fragile items, and they did an amazing job! They picked up my items on Monday and on Thursday they arrived in New York. The move was just as smooth in New York as it was in Chicago. They were exactly on time again! The cost did not change from the estimate that Ranan initially gave me. Overall this was the best moving experience I've ever had. It is hard enough to move states - and First Class made it easy for us. I would recommend them to anyone, especially if you are moving in and out of elevator buildings were timing is incredibly important. read more

First Class Moving did a great job within our move: from one house to another house in the same neighborhood. They had enough men, enough space (two trucks), showed up on time, were friendly, and were crazy fast. We are not the most organized family, so they were almost too fast for us to keep up with. As far as I can tell, none of our furniture (including a piano), walls, floors, etc were damaged. They did leave behind one of their wardrobe boxes, and a couple of boxes ended up in the wrong rooms, but these issues were very minor. They were responsive when we thought a bag might have been left on a truck (turns out we found it ourselves later; did I mention we're disorganized?), and even called a week or two later to check that the issue had been resolved when someone in their office saw the note on the file. The quote process was great - Garth was thorough and friendly and answered all my questions. Moving was horribly stressful, but First Class did everything right. Highly recommend. I have never written a review on yelp before but feel compelled to given the tremendously good service we received from 1st Class Movers. 1st Class Movers recently did my out-of-state move. They packed up our home and moved us. I had never used a moving service before and had heard horror stories. I was also worried how they would handle our items since they were doing the packing. However, with all the packing and delivery, all of our things were treated wonderfully. Not a single item broke in the move! The movers were very courteous. We have a baby, and they went above and beyond to make logistics easier in that respect: they set up the crib (and the rest of her room) immediately upon arrival and they even packed a special "toy box," which they opened right away so that she could stay occupied and/or nap during the move-in process. We are very thankful and only wish they had a location in Indiana because we'd use them for all future moves. read more

I've moved 5 times in the last 7 years and First Class was by far the best moving company I've ever used. Starting with my sales rep, Garth, I was given all the information needed, as well as an honest and accurate estimate. Garth warned me that they weren't the cheapest, but they were the best. I did get 3 other estimates and they were competitive and not the highest priced. On moving day, Frankie and his team showed up on time. They were efficient, courteous and fast. When they met me in Minneapolis 3 days later for the scheduled unload, not only did I have a repeat performance of my excellent loading day, but after unpacking there was not one broken, scratched or smashed item to be found -- a first for me! If you're making a move anywhere in the Chicago area, you'd be making a huge mistake using anyone else. These guys are indeed First Class! read more

I have moved 3 times in the past year and this was the smoothest and best move by far. I'm still glowing with how great it went. The movers constantly communicated with me and were professional and extremely efficient. They not only did an excellent job moving all my stuff but they also put my beds back together which were taken apart and never put back together by the previous moving company I hired. The kicker was not only did they provide the lowest quote around but they also finished in record time and wound up saving me over $200 in moving expenses. While I hope to never have to move again at least I know there are excellent movers out there in case I do. As a former mover myself I can really vouch for the First Class crew that did our move. Sean, Kyle, and Roy were hardworking, courteous, and professional. The two more experienced guys were carefully overseeing and teaching the less experienced guy. These guys have a can do attitude! One item was slightly damaged and had Sean not mentioned it we would have never known since the damage was not visible and did not affect the operation of that piece. Everything else arrived damage free! I got many bids prior to selecting this company which ranged from $85 to $150 an hour and at $95 an hour their price was excellent especially considering the quality of this team. Summary: The team out of the Northbrook IL office was the best moving experience we have ever had. Our team lead was Janne - he and his team have such great spirit, skill and professionalism, it was inspiring. Just had our second big move with First Class. This last time, rain was pouring on our moving day. George and his moving team came with smiles on their faces and quickly went to work with complete focus-covering all pathways, carpet, wrapping all furniture in heavy pads and protecting everything. They put in a long, hard day, never slowing down or missing any detail to make sure our things were all safely placed and in order. Nothing was lost or broken-or even wet! As we told everyone at our closing, if you care about your things, First Class Movers are the Best! Local move in Highland Park today, foot of snow on ground. 6 guys ages 19-45 for 8 hours. On time. Experienced. Professional. Pleasant. Courteous. Efficient. Hard working. Little to no breaks on the job. I think one was superman in disguise. Disassembled and thoroughly padded and wrapped oversized heavy Amish and Indian mango (incrdibly bulky) furniture sets. Problem solved including navigating tiny 1900s stairs and hallways, including hoisting through windows on the second floor (remember snow?) . Fair price and less than orig. estimate. Fast, friendly, careful & great price. Movers were not only friendly, they were happy to accomodate. They actually smiled and seemed genuinely pleased to do what I asked them. And they were fast. They were careful with the boxes and even more careful not to damage the apartment we left and home we came into. 2 people were stationed inside the house with slippers on while the other 2 brought them items off the truck. Finally, the price was right. Not only were they very competitive, they came in under estimate - even though we made an extra stop AND they gave us a bunch of free boxes. The most amazing moving experience I have ever had! I didn't realize moving day could be so stress free. First Class Moving is the most professional and caring moving company in Chicago. Unfortunately, I have experienced many of the major moving companies and First Class doesn't compare. The name truly says it all. They might be slightly higher than some of the competitors, but it is worth every penny. They won't damage your items or your home. First Class Moving and Storage did a wonderful job in my recent move. I was moving out of chicago, and priced several companies (including one recommended by my new employer) and they were the cheapest. They arranged for the same crew to move me out of chicago (into storage) and, several months later, to move me into my new place out of town. The crew remembered my things, which room they had come from, and were able to re-assemble everything without difficulty. They were extremely professional and clean, covering all of the floors so that they didn't leave any marks. I would recommend them without reservation. read more

I had First Class Movers move me in October. Although this review is delayed, they were so good I had to say something. Adan Trujillo and his crew were on time, hard working, very professional and polite. The estimate was competitive and accurate ( they billed me what they said they would). One word of caution. After they tell you that packing materials are extra, don't stand next to the stretch wrapping, it sounds like money flying out the window. But like I said, they came in on estimate. Really great movers. One of the best moving companies we have worked with. They were on time and very careful and courteous. They wrapped each piece of furniture carefully. We were moving into a new home that we had just had painted and the floors redone. I was nervous, but the crew was very careful throughout the entire process. We had First Class help us move office spaces and they were excellent! We moved items from our office to three different locations and they did an amazing job keeping track of what items went where, packaging the items, moving all the items, and getting them all to the correct locations and without any damage.
