These so called "movers " should actually go into the garbage haulers Company. My belongings were jammed into boxes, very expensive sweaters stuffed into boxes, with hangers still on them and many were damaged.
Cartons were labeled with incorrect information if labeled at all. Best way to sum up, if I have a shredder and a microwave and since we were renting, all cartons were saved, the cartons were not used, packed with everything but the microwave and shredder.
I asked them to leave when I wanted to know where my Cosmetics and personal items were, and they had to go on the hunt to locate them. I just finished, almost a year of opening cartons to try to locate my belongings, an enormous amount of items, 4 Brother Printers, Christmas ornaments I purchased for years for my Notre Dame father, gone, disappeared and can never be replaced as they were annual items. How they can toss very expensive sweaters into cartons with hangers if absolutely unforgivable.
I contacted the "First Class Movers" twice and absolutely nothing was accomplished. I had to remove all the cartons, including the ones I purchased from the Container Store which cost $500.00+ to remove.
I contacted the office and was told someone would call me, thank God I didn't have to hold my breath as I never received a phone call back. I called a second time and was told "as a one time convenience, they would pick up cartons AFTER I cut them up.
I wouldn't have them remove dead animals.
They were repeatedly in the penalty box on Angie's List, my husband just looked on line and took over. If it had been discussed with me, they never would have stepped near my belongings.
A woman who answered the phone stated " we've never had one problem" there's a word to be used to tell her, yeah sure.
I had also purchased from Amazon plastic wrapping rolls the keep the palate type paint from being destroyed. I put the wrapping material on a table beneath the painting and as these horrible people were swarming all over, I went to check on the painting. Not only was the table gone but with it the $25.00 plastic wrap I purchased. The "mover" had the guts to tell me nothing was on the table, he went to a box containing 12 rolls of plastic and said that's what they used. They actually denied the expensive wrapping to protect the $5000.00 painting would be used by them. When I asked if "their plastic, wouldn't remove the paint, they said "no". When I told them the price and hoped they were prepared to pay $5000.00 (my husband even purchased more insurance) they panicked. They wrapped it in paper. I haven't had the heart to look.
My husband was going through his second bout of Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma Stage IV, had fallen and broken his hip just to make things more exciting and spent a month in rehab trying to get his hip to move. The surgery failed, he is now having Open Heart surgery next week.
I had to try and more very heavy boxes piles on top of each other all by myself, I weigh 82 pounds all the way up from 76 pounds which makes it difficult to take care of my husband, running from Hospital to hospital, more doctors appointments than you can believe and I'm not sure if I'm more angry or just plain heartbroken as to the damage they caused, the lack of concern of our belongings. All I know is the only thing "First Class" is the name on their trucks.
They did so much damage, lost my father's belongings that can never be replaced and they simply didn't care.
My landlord claimed her microwave was missing, we had to file a civil lawsuit and there was no microwave either.
You use First Class Movers, you're going to regret it just like I will for the rest of my life. Garbage haulers, that's what they should be and they'd probably screw that up as well.
