Absolutely incredible! My friends and I visited Paris for a weekend and our original dinner plans fell through, so we stumbled upon Firmin le Barbier. This was hands down not only the best dinning experience we had during our whole trip, but the best food!! We all loved every bit of our meal, truly the tastiest and freshest food. For the most part the service everywhere we went was slow, but not here! The owner was not only incredibly attentive but SO kind. She was happy to let us sit there all night and just enjoy the view and experience. Truly the kindest person! Now the view, WOW! It didn't get much better than this. Sitting outside and having the tower sparkle in the background while we enjoyed an amazing dinner experience. Truly cannot recommend this restaurant enough. If you are visiting Paris and want an amazing dining experience and an incredible view, please visit Firmin le Barbier!!

The sparkle at 10!

If I could give 10 stars I would! This sweet small restaurant is charming, perfectly located and the best meal we had while in Paris! Gigi the owner was kind and attentive, and we thoroughly enjoyed talking with her too. I had the truffle pasta and my husband had the flank steak, both cooked to perfection. The truffle sauce was just the right amount of richness. Chocolate mousse was light and delicious! We loved it!

Not only was the food fantastic so was the service. This is a husband and wife team who own and operate this business. The set meal had great options to choose from and the wine selection was incredible! Also, the portions are generous, so come with an appetite. I can not tell you how grateful I was for such warm hospitality in a new country and city. I highly recommend you check this place out

We were looking for a place to eat around the Eiffel Tower and found this charming little restaurant on Yelp. Since we both love steak, their ribeye for two seemed too good to pass up. And five minutes from the Tower?!? Wowee. The hostess was nice and seated us immediately. She explained the menu to us and unfortunately, the ribeye was a set course with salad and potatoes. We kind of wanted to order a few things to try on the menu, but figured it would be too much on top of the steak. The bottle of Beaujolais we had was great and very easy to drink. Apparently it totally turned my boyfriend on to Beaujolais and now he constantly looks for some in stores back home. Since they cook the steak from scratch and the smallest they could do was 2kg, she informed us it would take 30-40 minutes to finish. That's fine, we weren't in a rush. While we waited, the hostess gave us a weird trail-mixy snack that, truthfully, tasted like dried leaves. We didn't touch any more of that after the first bite. We tried the foie with pickled artichokes and rhubarb/caramel. The foie was pretty cold and really difficult to spread on the bread they gave us. Once we managed it, it was super rich and delicious. Even though the slice of foie was pretty thin, it was more than enough to satisfy both of us given how unctuous the fatty liver is. Our steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, and it went really well with the bearnaise. The potatoes were creamy and filling. NOT a fan of the salad because it was pure arugula, and not your average wimpy American arugula... this arugula packed a real punch. I had to eat it together with the meat in order to finish it. The passion fruit creme brûlée was a little tart and very fruity. Definitely lots of passion fruit syrup in there. After dinner we walked over to the Eiffel Tower and watched it light up at 11pm. Overall a beautiful evening with good food and even better company.

Prime rib for two

We loved our food and experience at Firmin le Barbier. Truly some of the best food, among four diners, that we had while in Paris. It was simple and rustic, yet elegant in taste and presentation. I wish I could remember everything we had, but the pork chop and prime rib stand out. The best, most succulent chop I have tasted in years. It was cooked to perfection and served with a magenta sauce, possibly beet and horseradish or mustard? It came with a side of onions gratin that left one at our table spectacularly speechless. The prime rib, two person minimum, was cooked perfectly and served with roasted, creamy fingerling potatoes. Just serve a bowl of those please. Dessert included rum baba (holy cow that rum was strong!) with a passion fruit mousse and a chocolate tart that defied explanation. The tart shell was paper thin and crisp, while the filling was rich, dark chocolate that was silky smooth and light but not airy. Served with a passion fruit ice cream, it was blissful. We fought over it, not pretty or sophisticated. Our perfectly paced dinner ended at around 10, at which point we walked out to see the Eiffel Tower glittering. It was a great evening, superb food, and a great host, M. Firmin. We highly recommend. And lest you doubt this, we overheard another diner exclaim over the pork chop. Must have if it's on the menu!

We got so lucky with this restaurant!!! Came here on Valentine's Day with a same day reservation. We ordered the steak for two after seeing the other reviews and so glad we did! My husband was able to hand pick the steak he wanted and it was cooked to perfection!!! Not only was the food and wine great, but so was the view. We could see the Eiffel tower right outside the door!!

My wife found this restaurant based on Yelp reviews, which was a short distance from the Eiffel Tower. I called to make a reservation for two and was lucky enough to get a table 25 minutes before it opened for dinner on A Saturday. Once we made our way in we were greeted by a very nice host / waitress. The restaurant has about 8 tables. It felt very cozy and was very welcoming. I was told they change their menu often depending on the chef's mood. The appetizer, entrees and dessert were to die for. I was amazed by the level of flavor in all the dishes. You will not be disappointed with this restaurant. I will definitely come back again and recommend this restaurant to others.

Best meal in Paris!! We were looking for a place to eat near the Effiel Tower late around 10 PM. Since we didn't have a reservation anywhere, we realized our chances of a meal with view were extremely slim. Enter Firmin Le Barbier. Tired and feeling dejected we popped our head in the door to see if we could get seating for two. To our surprise, the hostess welcomed us with open arms! Our night took a dramatic turn from then on. We were able to speak directly with the chef who let us pick a cut of steak. Our hostess even went out of her way to bring us the steak to double check if it was too rare. The view from outside was fantastic and our service was top notch. I highly highly recommend making the effort to visit this fine establishment.

Warm but classy vibe, and most importantly, serves memorable food. The owner is so sweet and you can tell he really loves his restaurant and his guests. I was surprised to see that he remembered me when I went back after a month for a second visit. It was staffed by 3 people both times I went- the owner, a waitress, and the chef. The owner and waitress constantly make sure the meal is to your liking and the owner even stops by each table for a little chat. The food selection is pretty limited but carefully selected. I ordered the scallops, sea bass, and creme brûlée- all of which tasted as amazingly as they were presented. On rainless days, you can sit outside and have one of the best direct views of the Eiffel Tower. The menu is a bit pricier than the two touristy bistros right next to it but for a fancier and more intimate dinner, it's definitely worth it!

OMG!!! This is what people dream of when they think of gourmet French... was amazing in every way. The escargot, the duck assembly dish (wow), the passion fruit creme brûlée and the wine!!! Don't go anywhere else. Gigi is the phenomenal host that makes your "experience" unforgettable. Forget the view, come for the chefs creations! Btw, though, view is extraordinary. Chris from US

Duck and fresh fish entree, both delicious.

We had the pleasure of dining here a couple of nights ago. It was truly a treat. Gigi and her husband Alex are owner and chef. They take great pride in creating a menu that is very fresh and they make everything in house. The menu changes frequently based on what is available in the local markets and while the menu is small the selection is diverse. The 3 of us each ordered something different and we were all very happy with our choices. Gigi the proprietor is so charming and welcoming. Sit outside if you can, you can't beat the view.

Very French country feeling inside!

BEST restaurant we went to on our ten day trip to Europe from the States!!! We had an AMAZING meal and experience at Firmin Le Barbier! Can't say enough about the hostess/server and how wonderfully accommodating she was to everyone in the restaurant. The Pike Fish soufflé was SO good that after I finished mine and my fiancé finished his chicken and ox tale dish, he ordered a second soufflé dish for himself. We had a really nice red Bordeaux (wish I could remember the name, it was an 07 and red) and finished with the sage and passion fruit creme brûlée which had so many intense and interesting flavors for us to enjoy. The service was above and beyond what we expected; warm, hospitable, knowledgeable and so so friendly. We would HIGHLY recommend dining here - it's about a five minute walk from the Eiffel Tower.

This was our best meal in Paris, warm and good service and outstanding food. The lamb tongue starter was amazing.

Le Comptoir de la Gastronomie - An amazing French onion soup...

The most life- changing experience with French cuisine. This is what French culinary dreams are…read moremade of. Get the appetizer grilled foie gras with side of greens, you won't regret it. The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

This place was a huge letdown. They had a cute little artisanal market on the front left of the…read morerestaurant. They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.
