Came here for dinner with my boyfriend around 7:15pm on a Friday night. I had made a reservation in advance and it was very nice not to have to wait. The inside of this restaurant is very cute and has really antique vibes. We sat outside on the cute street though since the ambiance there was also perfect. Service was friendly but a little slower than other places we went to during this visit. Our server forgot about our table while waiting to order dessert so we waited for a while but it was her first week and perhaps it was an isolated experience. We got some white wine which was nice and cool that was perfect on a warm evening. For food we ordered: Octopus salad: very good! One of the highlights of this meal. Very light and flavorful. Had some chopped tomatoes and onions with olive oil that was very good. The octopus itself was very well cooked, it was tender and not chewy with a very soft inside. I haven't had octopus that good in a while. Duck breast: really nice cut of duck breast which was juicy and flavorful. Came over celery root purée that complimented the flavor of the duck well as well as the fatty/velvety texture. Paired with some figs and peaches that brought really nice sweet highlights to the dish as well. A little overdone but overall still good. Bass fillet: also another good dish. The fish itself was cooked perfectly and had a really flaky and silky texture. The flavor itself was not out of this world but it was plated well and had other good elements such as the delicious beets and some lingonberries on top. Crème brûlée: very nice dessert! Crispy caramelized top over a delicious creamy flan like custard with tonka. I thought this was a very interesting twist to traditional crème brûlée but worked incredibly well. Definitely recommend this one! The tonka adds a very subtle complexity to the crème brûlée which makes it very unique and delicious. Overall I would give this place 4 stars. The ambiance and location are top notch but some dishes felt a bit flat and unimpressive to me. They were solid but nothing out of this world. Prices were higher than other things we experienced and the portions were small. Service was good if you are not rushing and are okay hanging out (which is also a very nice change of pace from places like in the US). Really cute for a special occasion! Would return to give other dishes a try.

Cozy. Romantic. Delicious. The ambiance of Le Coupe-Chou is unmatched. The history of the building alone will leave you in awe. Not only is it by far to coziest and most beautiful atmosphere (assuming your into old wooden beams, exceptional ironwork, and little nooks and crannies to dine in, the food was equally as good. We came here as a party of 6 and even with that many people the ambiance remained. We all ordered different dishes. I had the steak which was probably the best steak I had in my time in Paris. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful. Everyone enjoyed their food and the wine! Highly recommend, especially for a date night!

World class. Came here on recommendations from my sister and holy cow, this place is worth the trip over and over and over again. The atmosphere here is amazing. Crackling fire, cozy private dining room vibes, impeccable friendly service. The escargot are the best I've ever had. If you're a newbie or first timer to snails and want a great experience- get them here. After we ordered them, the rest of the tables nearby did the same after seeing the presentation and smelling the buttery garlic. The risotto was awesome. The duck- which is a menu favorite- was incredible. Limited cocktail menu- I'm sure they can make whatever you wanted, but we didn't ask. Plenty of wine and liquor options as opposed to cocktails which isn't a bad thing. Bathrooms are downstairs which are private, clean and updated. 10/10. If this place doesn't have a Michelin star, it should.

By far the best restaurant we visited during our stay in Paris. Food was absolutely amazing, service was top notch, and the atmosphere was perfect. Will definitely be eating here again on our next trip to Paris. If you are looking for good food with a romantic, old school vibe, this is the place to be.

We came here on a recommendation from a friend and were not disappointed. The interior is cozy and unique, and the service was friendly and attentive. Food was excellent...I am reserving one star because it was not THE most flavorful meal I have ever had, but the dishes were very solidly executed, and the menu is creative and varied. If you are looking for a romantic dinner off the beaten path, definitely check this place out.

Overall good meal in Paris, the portions are small and the prices aren't necessarily. Good food in amazing atmosphere (4 homes built between 13th and 15th century put together. I got the scallops which was a tiny dish but tasty, got the lamb special, and the salmon which were good too. Got a lobster bisque and foie gras to start , and glad we did! We ended with the mocha creme brûlée which was divine. Follow me on ig @ sophiaeaaats for more recs!

    Amazing dessert!

Had a nice dinner here to celebrate a successful work week in Paris doing training for Sopra Banking Software. My colleague Joel had been here before and said the Ahi Tuna was amazing. It did not disappoint. Great atmosphere and ambiance. Would be a wonderful spot to bring your spouse! We tried a French whiskey too which was quite good. And, of course dessert was amazing. Reservations recommended. Go here, it's great!

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. Same comment as the above, except the Landais had egg and goat cheese also mixed in with almost the same ingredients as the Fermier. Vibey 30 somethings and those of us tourists that have begrudgingly figured it out. It is close quarters inside, but when in Rome. My bestie from middle school and I shared the escargot (bless you) pasta, which was delicious, and the duck, which was exceptional. We split a very fairly priced bottle of wine and ended the night with the scoop of mousse. If they could figure out how to do that intravenously, that'd be great. The mousse reminded me of a great guilty pleasure, which is eating straight out of the can of Duncan Hines chocolate frosting (ask me how I know, I do this often, going to rebrand it to me being European). The menu features French classics and there are vegetarian options. To be honest, maybe I'm not the best to right this review because French food isn't my favorite - regardless, my main complaint is just that the food lacked the extra flavor I was hoping for but it was still solid. The Ravioli Dauphine was perfectly cheesy, just needed some extra salt. The Chickpea Fries and Warm Goat Cheese were nice starters, and I liked the bread basket that was given freely - especially the inclusion of a walnut raisin bread. NOW, the star of the show and the reason you're probably here: the Chocolate Mousse. Yes it is worth the hype. Only complaint - we had some leftover and they refused to box it for us.

Simple classic French cuisine. We shared the mini raviolis stuffed with mushroom and a foie gras sauce. Wow. And shared their famous beef bourguignon. The tender beef, the sauce! I love the way they plate it too. Delicious. And a bottle of Cabernet Franc from Bourgueil (Loire Valley). The second visit (3 star) was very different from the first visit. Less friendly, borderline rude, took a long while for table service even though it was not busy, rolled their eyes about us sharing and at our wine bottle selection. We didn't feel welcomed. Food remains good, but not outstanding. Roll of the dice on service. I'd say if you're in the area and you don't have to wait it'd be worthwhile, otherwise seek a less touristy spot.
